    Hall effect in cobalt-doped TiO2−δ_{2-\delta}

    Full text link
    We report Hall effect measurements on thin films of cobalt-doped TiO2−δ_{2-\delta}. Films with low carrier concentrations (1018^{18} - 1019^{19}) yield a linear behavior in the Hall data while those having higher carrier concentrations (1021^{21} - 1022^{22}) display anomalous behavior near zero field. In the entire range of carrier concentration, n-type conduction is observed. The appearance of the anomalous behavior is accompanied by a possible structural change from rutile TiO2_{2} to Ti_[n}O2n−1_{2n-1} Magneli phase(s)

    Background: School-going children form an important vulnerable segment of the nation’s population. Children in the school-going age group of 5 to 16 years constitute a total of 30% of the total population. School age is a dynamic period of physical growth and development, when the child undergoes rapid mental, emotional, and social changes. Therefore, school-going children are susceptible groups for psychiatric disorders especially behavioural problems. The present research was carried out with an objective to study the behavioural problems of secondary school children and its relation to the various socio-demographic and socio-economic factors. Methods: This cross sectional observational study was conducted on 304 secondary school children studying in 8th and 9th standard in the regarding socio-demographic profile and Strength and difficulties questionnaire. The analysis was done using Microsoft Excel and SPSS software. Results: In this study, the prevalence of abnormal behavioral according to self-rated SDQ was found to be 1.6% while prevalence of borderline abnormal behavior was 11.2% and majority 87.2% of study subjects were normal having no behavioral problem. The combined borderline and abnormal behavioral problems were more prevalent in the age group of 12-13year (64.1%) and 13-14 years (30.8%), also more prevalent among girls (69.2%) compared to boys (30.8%). The prevalence of behavioral problems was higher among students studying in 9th standard (74.4%, 29/39) and studying in Hindi medium (61.5%). The incidence was found to be more in students who belongs to nuclear families (79.5%) and also was more among those who were first born compared to middle born and last born children. Majority of fathers were working as semiskilled (41.4%) and skilled (32.9%) workers, among the father’s alcohol users (45.06%) were high compared to the tobacco users (31.9%).Conclusions: Socio-demographic factors and occupation of father and alcohol consumption among them was found to be significantly associated with the behavioural problems of the study subjects

    Electric Field Effect in Diluted Magnetic Insulator Anatase Co:TiO2

    Get PDF
    An external electric field induced reversible modulation of room temperature magnetic moment is achieved in an epitaxial and insulating thin film of dilutely cobalt-doped anatase TiO2. This first demonstration of electric field effect in any oxide based diluted ferromagnet is realized in a high quality epitaxial heterostructure of PbZr0.2Ti0.8O3/Co:TiO2/SrRuO3 grown on (001) LaAlO3. The observed effect, which is about 15% in strength in a given heterostructure, can be modulated over several cycles. Possible mechanisms for electric field induced modulation of insulating ferromagnetism are discussed.Comment: 14 pages, 4 figure

    This study examines the variable that underwent E-filling return among individuals. Nowadays the government is making people aware of E-filling. For this purpose, the researcher collected 82 respondents' data. It was analysed by checking the reliability and a parametric one-sample. A one-sample t-test is used to determine the significant relationship between individual perception and awareness it was suggested that we have to focus more on individual awareness of E-filling. &nbsp

    A laboratory experiment was carried out in the Department of Seed Science and Technology, College of Agriculture, University of Agricultural Sciences, Raichur to study the effect of seed polymer coating with micronutrients and foliar spray on the resultant seed quality parameters of chickpea. Among the seventeen different treatments, resultant chickpea seeds obtained from treatment polymer coated seeds (each@ 6 ml/kg of seed) along with the combination of micronutrients viz.,ZnSO4 + Boron + Ammonium molybdate + FeSO4 ( each @ 2 g/kg of seed ) and two foliar sprays (0.5 % + 0.2 % + 0.1% + 0.5 %, respectively, except ZnSO4 and FeSO4 in EDTA form) at an interval of 10 days during flowering stage (50 and 60 days after sowing) recorded significantly highest hundred seed weight (25.9 g), germination (97.00 %), speed of germination (18.50), shoot length (8.43 cm), root length (19.80 cm), seedling dry weight (43.30 mg) and seedling vigour index (2738) compared to all other treatments and control (23.6 g, 92.05 %, 13.74, 5.48 cm, 16.30 cm, 34.00 mg and 2004, respectively) and hence above treatment combinations can be used in order to produce good quality seeds

    Temperature dependent optical studies of Ti1−x_{1-x}Cox_xO2_2

    Full text link
    We present the results of Raman and photoluminescence (PL) studies on epitaxial anatase phase Ti1−x_{1-x}Cox_xO2_2 films for xx = 0-0.07, grown by pulsed laser deposition. The low doped system (xx=0.01 and 0.02) shows a Curie temperature of ~700 K in the as-grown state. The Raman spectra from the doped and undoped films confirm their anatase phase. The photoluminescence spectrum is characterized by a broad emission from self-trapped excitons (STE) at 2.3 eV at temperatures below 120 K. This peak is characteristic of the anatase-phase TiO2_2 and shows a small blueshift with increasing doping concentration. In addition to the emission from STE, the Co-doped samples show two emission lines at 2.77 eV and 2.94 eV that are absent in the undoped film indicative of a spin-flip energy.Comment: 8 pages, 4 figure

    Get PDF
    Growth of MgB2 thin films by pulsed laser deposition is examined under ex situ and in situ processing conditions. For the ex situ process, Boron films grown by PLD were annealed at 900 C with excess Mg. For the in situ process, different approaches involving ablation from a stoichiometric target under different growth conditions, as well as multilayer deposition involving interposed Mg layers were examined and analyzed. Magnetic measurements on ex situ processed films show TC of ~39 K, while the current best in situ films show a susceptibility transition at ~ 22 K.Comment: 3 pages, PD

    REVIEW: FAST DISSOLVING TABLET

    Get PDF
    Fast dissolving tablets is one of the most widely accepted dosage forms and also most popular dosage form, especially for pediatric patients because of incomplete development of the muscular and nervous system and a case of geriatric patients suffering from Parkinson's disorder or hand tremors. Some solid dosage forms like tablets and capsules are present days facing the problems like difficulty in swallowing (dysphagia), resulting in many incidences of non-compliance and making the therapy ineffective. Oral dosage form and oral route are the most preferred route of administration for various drugs have limitations like the first-pass metabolism. Fast dissolving tablets are one of them. FDT have benefits such as accurate dosing, easy portability and manufacturing, good physical and chemical stability and an ideal alternative for pediatric and geriatric patients. Some tablets are designed to dissolve fastly in saliva, within a few seconds, and are true fast-dissolving tablets. Others contain agents to enhance the rate of tablet disintegration in the oral cavity and are more appropriately termed fast-disintegrating tablets, as they may take up to a minute to completely disintegrate

    Optical band edge shift of anatase cobalt-doped titanium dioxide

    Get PDF
    We report on the optical properties of magnetic cobalt-doped anatase phase titanium dioxide Ti_{1-x}Co_{x}O_{2-d} films for low doping concentrations, 0 <= x <= 0.02, in the spectral range 0.2 to 5 eV. For well oxygenated films (d << 1) the optical conductivity is characterized by an absence of optical absorption below an onset of interband transitions at 3.6 eV and a blue shift of the optical band edge with increasing Co concentration. The absence of below band gap absorption is inconsistent with theoretical models which contain midgap magnetic impurity bands and suggests that strong on-site Coulomb interactions shift the O-band to Co-level optical transitions to energies above the gap.Comment: 5 pages, 4 figures, 1 table; Version 2 - major content revisio
