The COVID-19 pandemic has affected the day-to-day activities particularly has created the largest disruption of education systems in India. This study has examined the impact of COVID-19 lockdown on the reading habit of Law Students in Tamil Nadu.A descriptive survey method was adopted andan online web-based questionnaire was used to collect data for the study. The total response collected for the study is 464 and 65.52% of respondents are female. It was found that there was a significantdevelopment in the reading habit of Law Students inTamilnadu during the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown. It was revealed that most Law Students inTamandu used a mobile phone (96.8%) to read during the lockdown. It was shown the challenges in reading during the lockdown, which include Heavy use of social media, Laziness, Work/home burden, lack of motivation, and non-availability of resources. It was concluded that COVID-19 lockdown has a positive influence on the reading habits of most Law Students in Tamailnadu and the findings of this study will provide understanding into the reading habits of these law students and necessary recommendations will be made

    Get PDF
In this era of social media, it's essential for businesses to monitor their customers options and feelings regarding their services and products in a timely manner. Due to the ease of sharing opinions and feedback on social media, the customers can share their reviews about the business or a product instantly. This feedback can have a significant impact on the business's reputation and in turn on its revenue. In this regard, sentiment analysis has developed into a vital tool that companies can use to comprehend the emotional factors that influence client behavior and to aid them in making decisions that will increase customer pleasure. This work presents the use of social media data for real-time consumer emotion analysis in e-commerce. The study aims to identify the most expressed emotions and provide businesses with the ability to tailor their product and services accordingly. The employed dataset consists of 58,000 English comments that have been labelled for 27 different emotion categories. The study uses machine learning methods to categorize the emotions expressed in the comments, including convolutional neural networks and Bidirectional Encoder Representations from Transformers (BERT). The practical result of this research shows the importance of machine learning model coupled with a user interface that can provide stakeholders, such as e-commerce companies, with insights into consumer emotion as well as realtime customer sentiment about their goods and services

Smart Grid (SG) a well-known concept being rapidly introduced in the power industry. New transformation of Indian power network has begun with 14 SG pilot projects across the nation. One of such projects has been successfully commissioned in Puducherry. The motive of this research work is to analyze the techno-economic aspects of a smart distribution network before being implemented nation-wide the study case facilitating efficient planning and deployment of technology. This paper presents techno-economic analysis of Smart Grid via a case study of Puducherry pilot project. Covered in this paper are different components of investment which convey an idea about services and their proposition as well as technical advancements with their benefits. This paper discusses the gain in terms of energy and money saving through different smart technical tools. Payback analysis explains how investment in smart distribution network is justified

A Study on Impact of Dividend Policy on Initial Public Offering Price Performance

This study examines the impact of dividend policy on the performance of initial public offerings in India. The period of study is from the year 2011-2014. Monthly returns of the IPOs issued in the considered period and the Indian Stock Market Index (Nifty 50) were considered for the long-run performance study. The methodological tools used are long-run performance statistics and the GARCH model. The Dummy variable was used to measure the effect of dividends on the IPOs. The study reveals that the dividend policy has no significant effect on the stock prices of IPO.Comment: 7 PAGES 6 FIGURES 6 TABLES PUBLISHED IN Journal of Engineering and Applied Science

    Get PDF
A simple acetone-drying protocol was adopted to replace the lyophilization step while isolating genomic DNA from Aspergillus mycelia. This DNA is suitable for PCR, restriction enzyme digestion and Southern blot analysis with digoxigenin-labeled DNA probes. Acetone drying/ preservation can be a useful method in the molecular analysis of fungal DNA samples

Investigation on D-STATCOM Operation for Power Quality Improvement in a Three Phase Three Wire Distribution System with a New Control Strategy

    Get PDF
This paper deals with the issue of modeling and analysis of power controllers, power electronic-based equipment aimed at improving the reliability, stability and quality of power flows in low voltage distribution networks. A new control scheme is proposed to generate the PWM signal based on the measurements of voltage, and no reactive power measurements are required. The operation of the proposed control method is presented for D-STATCOM. Simulations and analysis are carried out in MATLAB/PLECS with this control method for the proposed systems. The reliability of the control scheme in the system response to the voltage instabilities due to system faults or load variations is proved obviously in the simulation results. Keywords: D-STATCOM, PWM, VSC, MATLAB/PLECS
