Warm DBI inflation with constant sound speed
We study inflation with the Dirac-Born-Infeld (DBI) noncanonical scalar field
in both the cold and warm scenarios. We consider the Anti-de Sitter warp factor
for the DBI inflation and check viability of the
quartic potential in light of the Planck 2015
observational results. In the cold DBI setting, we find that the prediction of
this potential in the plane is in conflict with Planck 2015
TT,TE,EE+lowP data. This motivates us to focus on the warm DBI inflation with
constant sound speed. We conclude that in contrary to the case of cold
scenario, the result of warm DBI model can be compatible with the 68\%
CL constraints of Planck 2015 TT,TE,EE+lowP data in the intermediate and high
dissipation regimes, whereas it fails to be observationally viable in the weak
dissipation regime. Also, the prediction of this model for the running of the
scalar spectral index is in good agreement with the constraint of
Planck 2015 TT,TE,EE+lowP data. Finally, we show that the warm DBI inflation
can provide a reasonable solution to the swampland conjecture that challenges
the de Sitter limit in the standard inflation.Comment: 35 pages, 8 figure

The Comparison of Active and Passive Teaching Methods Effects on Emotional Intelligence (EQ)
Abstract: The present study aims is to compare active and passive teaching methods' effects on Emotional Intelligence (EQ) in girls and boys of Fifth grade in primary in primary school. Research method in this study was an Expost facto, a multi-stage random sampling was done to choose 320 samples from schools of Maragheh that 160 of them were boys and 160 were girls. Active and passive teaching methods of teachers were assessed with a checklist made by the researcher. After that a questionnaire of 60 questions was given to the students, which was a Bar-on test (The young aged version) to measure their Emotional Intelligence. Both of questionnaire and checklist are according to liker gradation. The results revealed that there is a meaningful difference between the EQ of those who were taught actively and those who were taught passively. Female students had a better performance in general mood factor. There is a meaningful difference between the EQ of girls & boys under active and passive teaching. There is a meaningful difference between boys’ and girls' overall EQ. Operation of girls in Emotional Intelligence is better than boys
A long-term hydrometeorological dataset (1993–2014) of a northern mountain basin: Wolf Creek Research Basin, Yukon Territory, Canada
A set of hydrometeorological data is presented in this paper,
which can be used to characterize the hydrometeorology and climate of a
subarctic mountain basin and has proven particularly useful for forcing
hydrological models and assessing their performance in capturing
hydrological processes in subarctic alpine environments. The forcing dataset
includes daily precipitation, hourly air temperature, humidity, wind, solar
and net radiation, soil temperature, and geographical information system
data. The model performance assessment data include snow depth and snow
water equivalent, streamflow, soil moisture, and water level in a
groundwater well. This dataset was recorded at different elevation bands in
Wolf Creek Research Basin, near Whitehorse, Yukon Territory, Canada,
representing forest, shrub tundra, and alpine tundra biomes from 1993
through 2014. Measurements continue through 2018 and are planned for the
future at this basin and will be updated to the data website. The database
presented and described in this article is available for download at

The MLL-Menin Interaction is a Therapeutic Vulnerability in NUP98-rearranged AML
\ua9 2023 Wolters Kluwer Health. All rights reserved. Chromosomal translocations involving the NUP98 locus are among the most prevalent rearrangements in pediatric acute myeloid leukemia (AML). AML with NUP98 fusions is characterized by high expression of HOXA and MEIS1 genes and is associated with poor clinical outcome. NUP98 fusion proteins are recruited to their target genes by the mixed lineage leukemia (MLL) complex, which involves a direct interaction between MLL and Menin. Here, we show that therapeutic targeting of the Menin-MLL interaction inhibits the propagation of NUP98-rearrranged AML both ex vivo and in vivo. Treatment of primary AML cells with the Menin inhibitor revumenib (SNDX-5613) impairs proliferation and clonogenicity ex vivo in long-term coculture and drives myeloid differentiation. These phenotypic effects are associated with global gene expression changes in primary AML samples that involve the downregulation of many critical NUP98 fusion protein-target genes, such as MEIS1 and CDK6. In addition, Menin inhibition reduces the expression of both wild-type FLT3 and mutated FLT3-ITD, and in combination with FLT3 inhibitor, suppresses patient-derived NUP98-r AML cells in a synergistic manner. Revumenib treatment blocks leukemic engraftment and prevents leukemia-associated death of immunodeficient mice transplanted with NUP98::NSD1 FLT3-ITD-positive patient-derived AML cells. These results demonstrate that NUP98-rearranged AMLs are highly susceptible to inhibition of the MLL-Menin interaction and suggest the inclusion of AML patients harboring NUP98 fusions into the clinical evaluation of Menin inhibitors
Hepcidin and HFE polymorphisms and ferritin level in β-Thalassemia major
Background: Thalassemia patients need repeated transfusion that lead to increased blood ferritin level and iron overload in the heart and liver. Because the roles of hepcidin antimicrobial peptide (HAMP) and hemocromatosis protein (HFE) in iron metabolism have been confirmed, this study investigated the effects of these gene's polymorphisms on blood ferritin levels and iron overload in the heart and liver in patients with beta thalassemia major Materials and Methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted on 91 patients referring to the Hajar Hospital in Shahrekord, Iran in 2015. After the blood samples were collected, the ferritin levels were measured, DNA was extracted from the blood cells, and the types of polymorphisms were determined using PCR-RFLP. Data of MRI T2 * in the heart and liver were drawn from the patients' medical files. Data analysis was conducted by t-test, chi-square test, Fisher's exact test, and Pearson correlation coefficient. Results: There was no significant correlation between blood ferritin level and c.-582 A>G polymorphisms of hepcidin gene (p=0.58), and H63D of HFE gene (p=0.818). In addition, there was no significant association between the polymorphisms and heart and liver MRI, but there was a significant association between blood ferritin level and qualitative heart and liver MRI (r=-0.34, p=0.035 and r=-0.001, p=0.609, respectively). Conclusion: In patients with β-thalassemia major, the presence of c.-582A>G HAMP and H63D HFE polymorphisms is not effective on blood ferritin level and iron overload in the heart and liver in the studied region
Naked Singularity Formation In f(R) Gravity
We study the gravitational collapse of a star with barotropic equation of
state in the context of theories of gravity.
Utilizing the metric formalism, we rewrite the field equations as those of
Brans-Dicke theory with vanishing coupling parameter. By choosing the
functionality of Ricci scalar as , we
show that for an appropriate initial value of the energy density, if
and satisfy certain conditions, the resulting singularity would be naked,
violating the cosmic censorship conjecture. These conditions are the ratio of
the mass function to the area radius of the collapsing ball, negativity of the
effective pressure, and the time behavior of the Kretschmann scalar. Also, as
long as parameter obeys certain conditions, the satisfaction of the
weak energy condition is guaranteed by the collapsing configuration.Comment: 15 pages, 4 figures, to appear in GR
