Interrelations Between Industrial And Occupational Changes In Manpower United States, 1950-1960

    Get PDF
One of the striking features of industrialization has been the great increase in the variety of jobs that accompany it, and the changing composition of these occupations in the course of further development. The factors responsible for such variations in occupational structure, their direction and magnitude need systematic investigation with a view to aid manpower planning. Under the circumstances of rising shortage of certain critical occupations in almost all countries, the study of occupational dynamics has come to the forefront in recent years. Further, high rates of employment in occupations that are either declining or not growing fast enough has underscored the need for knowledge about occupational trends in manpower so as to formulate effective full employment targets. Closely related to the task of ensuring balanced supply of different categories of manpower and avoidance of unemployment, is the educational and vocational training of people which perforce depends mainly on prospective occupational changes in the economy. Interest, therefore, of the educational planners in the present and future occupational trends has given an added impetus and urgency to occupational analyses and forecasts

From the present study we conclude that the preliminary phytochemical analysis of Justicia tranquebariensis. indicated the presence of Flavonoids, quinones, glycosides, coumarins and steroids. ➢ In-vitro Calcium oxalate crystallization inhibition study was evaluated. From this study conclude that the ethanol, ethyl acetate, and hexane extracts of Justicia tranquebariensis. inhibits the calcium oxalate crystallization in the order of 58%, 46% and 39% respectively. ➢ In-vitro turbidity method was evaluated. From this study conclude that the ethanol, ethyl acetate, and hexane extracts of Justicia tranquebariensis. inhibits the calcium oxalate nucleation in the order of 73%, 62% and 61% respectively. ➢ Among the various extracts, the ethanolic extract produce more potent anti urolithiatic activity. ➢ In In-vivo Anti urolithiatic activity of ethanolic extract of Justicia tranquebariensis. was evaluated and we conclude that ethanolicextracts of the plant Justicia tranquebariensis. produced significant antiurolithiatic activity like that of standard. ➢ In the present study provided basic evidence that the justicia tranquebariensis has the beneficial effect for the treatment of urolithiasis. ➢ Further studies are required to elucidate the molecular mechanism of action and its therapeutic potential in the treatment of urolithiasis

Genetic variability among _Coleus sp_ studied by RAPD banding pattern analysis

    Get PDF
Genetic improvement of the medicinal plants depends upon the existence, nature and extent of the genetic variability available for manipulation. Genetic analysis with RAPD markers has been extensively used to determine genetic diversity among _Coleus sp_ and to identify the best quality for human consumption for its medicinal purpose. The objectives of the present study were to assess molecular variation among _C.amboinicus_, _C.aromaticus_ and _C.forskohlii_. and to determine the level of genetic similarity among them. We performed random amplification of polymorphic DNA (RAPD) analysis on three strains of _Coleus sp_. Random primers were used for the PCR. Electrophoresis on denaturing acrylamide gels improved RAPD reproducibility and increased the band number. The primer OPW 6 and OPW 7 gave reproducible results and the band profiles

A facile synthesis of mixed soft-segmented poly(urethane-imide)-polyhedral oligomeric silsesquioxone hybrid nanocomposites and study of their structure-transport properties

The structure–transport properties of mixed soft-segmented poly(urethane-imide) (MSPUI) membranes and their microstructures were investigated. Polypropylene glycol, polycaprolactone diol and bis(3-aminopropyl)-terminated polydimethylsiloxane were used as the soft segments in the membrane synthesis via a three-step polymerization reaction. The chemical structures of the MSPUI membranes were characterized using attenuated total reflectance Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy. Morphology and surface properties of the membranes were studied using scanning electron and atomic force microscopy techniques. Surface energy measurements indicated the enrichment of the hydrophobic soft segment in the membranes. The amorphous nature of the polymers was analysed using wide-angle X-ray diffraction. The effect of morphology on the permeability and selectivity of the membranes is discussed. Finally, membrane structure–transport property relationships were correlated.Department of Science and Technology, New Delhi (no. SR/S1/PC-45/2011). Full text link
Simarouba glaucanbspis a species of flowering tree that is native to Florida in the United States, southern Florida, South America, and the Lesser Antilles. Common names include paradise-tree, dysentery-bark, and bitter wood. Its seeds produce edible oil. Different parts of the tree are used to treat various diseases. The plant has been reported to contain many important phyto constituents which have significant pharmacological importance. The aim of this paper is to highlight the Pharmacological importance of different parts of the plant simaruba glauca and it may give a good platform for future researcher to carry out the various research activities on simarouba glauca plant.nbs

Microstructural and High Temperature Wear Characteristics of Plasma Transferred Arc Hardfaced Ni–Cr–Si–B-C Alloy Deposits

Due to the tough working environments, wear damage to nuclear reactor components is frequent. Usually, nuclear elements run at 573 k to 873 k. The feed water controller valves, used for the thundering of coolant flow, wear out faster among the reactor components. Austenitic stainless steels, using different methods for hardfacing, improve wear resistance to the cobalt and nickel alloys. Nickel based hardfacing is more resistant to wear than cobalt based hardfacing at high temperatures thanks to the solid oxide layers. Austenitic stainless-steel substrates generally favor nickel-based hardfaced (Ni–Cr-Si–B-C) over cobalt-driven hardfacing because this reduces radiation-induced nuclear activity. A well-known surface method for depositing nickel hardfacing, minimal dilution, alloys is the Plasma Transfer Arc (PTAs) weld technique. In this study the Ni-based alloy is hardfaced over a 316 L (N) ASS substratum with PTA hardfacing, for a dense of approximately 4–4.5 mm. The substrates and deposits were tested at different temperatures with a pin on disc wear (room temperature, 150 and 250°C).When grinding with 1000 grain SiC abrasive paper, the wear test samples were polished to the roughness value (Ra) of less than 0,25 m.The deposit showed a variety of wear mechanisms regarding the test temperature. Using friction and wear values and wear analysis, the wear mechanisms were determined. There was a considerable wear loss at room temperature (RT).At 423 K operating heat, mild ploughing at short sliding distances and tribo-oxidation were carried out with increasing sliding time. The primary wear mechanism was adherence at the time of operating temperature at 623 K, but as the sliding distance widened, tribo-oxidation improved. In combination with a working hardened substrate, the formation of an oxide layer could significantly reduce the wear loss of nickel-based alloys
