    The Profile of Distal Radius Fracture Colles\u27 Type at Dr. Soetomo Hospital in 2013

    The fracture cases become increase because the rapid development of transportation and human mobility today is not offset by good vigilance in conducting the activity. One of the most common location is in the hand and involves distal radius part, named Colles\u27 fracture. Colles\u27 fracture is the most common wrist fracture (almost 80% of the forearm fractures and the incidence rise in elderly people especially woman. The adequate distribution data of Colles\u27 Fracture is not available yet. If this situation keeps going, it will have impacts on the lack of preventive measures and recovery methods. The study was design as descriptive and used secondary data from medical records in Orthopedics and Traumatology Department of Dr. Soetomo Hospital Surabaya. Total 37 patients that included in inclusion criteria. Distal radius fracture Colles\u27 type was common in woman. The most common age was 45-64 years old. Most common causes of fracture was traffic accidents. Left forearm become major affected side. The incidence dominantly occurred at the street. The incidence often occurred at 12.00-18.00. The onset of admission from the incidence place to hospital was less than 8 hours

    DESIGN AND TESTING OF COAXIAL ROTOR DUCTED FAN VTOL UAV

    In general aircraft are classified into two major categories: fixed wing and rotary wing aircraft which are commonly known as helicopters. The vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) aircraft is designed to be capable of both flying horizontally like a fixed wing airplane and also ascending and descending vertically and thus eliminates the need of a runway [1],[2],[3],[4]. At recently years, Ducted fan VTOL is most popular. The reason behind that fact is the efficiency of power on the maneuver. This paper presents the results of design and testing of coaxial rotor ducted fan VTOL UAV. Pitch and roll moment of this vehicle will controlled with 2 independence control surface that's attached on the bottom of duct. The Ducted profile is applied to the system in order to improve the efficiency thrust at hovering state [3]. The goal of this design is to find optimized rotation speed rotor and distance between rotors. The value of rotation speed and distance between rotors could be simulated in Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) Analysis. The target of this simulation is to find some combination minimum yawing moment and maximum thrust at specifics distance between each rotor.     The purpose of this research is to analyse the behavior of single piles under axial compressive load, as far as settlement, load transfer mechanism, and static loading test are concerned. It includes a literary review of two elastic theory-based methods, the Poulos and Davis method and the Randolph and Wroth method, as well as axisymmetric elastic modelling using the finite element-based program Optum G2. The result given by each method are organized in dimensionless charts of settlement and proportion of load transferred to the pile base in terms of the pile slenderness ratio and soil inhomogeneity and the load in terms of the pile settlement and compared amongst each other. This reseacrh also studies axisymmetric elastoplastic modelling in Optum G2, considering the Mohr-Coulomb failure criterion. The case study of the simulation static load test performed on test pile. The soil parameters are got of some project in Riau Province.     Clayey sand\u27s shear strength is influenced by several factors, for examples sand and clay soil fraction, soil properties, density, moisture content, and gradation. Sand and clay mixture with same composition may different in shear strength. It is influenced by moisture content, density and gradation. This research aims to study the effect of clay content in sand that change the Shear strength of soil. Variation of clayey sand soil distinguished based on percentage, every variation have different gradation from well-graded sand to poorly-graded sand. Each sample variation is mixed with a certain moisture content, preloading created in order to represent overburden pressure. Samples was tested of gradation, density and shear strength. Relationship between gradation and shear strength value expressed by the value of Cc, Cu and cohesion, internal friction angle shows specific graphs in particular trends. The results showed effect of gradation and density on soil shear strength. Soil with well-graded sand and dense has good shear strength, in the other hand shear strength decreased when the gradation and density became lower. The addition of clay will increase cohesion and decrease internal friction angle

    Sea transportation continuity is mainly affected by the sea weather. The sea voyage may be disturbed by the unpredictable weather pattern. The rate of shipping accident that is caused by the bad weather shows a high percentage. Accordingly, the study of java sea wave characteristic is required. The java sea waters especially in the north side of Java Island, between Surabaya, Semarang Banjarmasin and Makassar is one of the most dense shipping lanes in Indonesia. Several big harbors such as tanjung perak of Surabaya and tanjung emas of Semarang serve high frequency of stevedoring and passenger loading/unloading. In previous researches, the sea weather predictor of java sea waters is still temporal. In this research, numerical modeling of SWAN is used to models the sea wave propagation direction and significant height of the wave in java sea waters. This model uses the concept of spectral energy balance to describe physical interaction that happened in the sea. Two scenarios are applicated in this simulation. in the first scenario, the input of wind speeds are given from 4 direction (west, north, east and south), while in the second scenario, the wind speeds are given according to the character of seasonal winds of the research object area

    Nanas (Ananas comosus (L) Merr) merupakan tanaman hortikultura yang banyak dibudidayakan di Kabupaten Lampung Tengah. Budidaya tanaman nanas (Ananas comosus (L) Merr) dinilai akan sangat menguntungkan, mengingat dengan biayaproduksi yang tidak terlalu mahal serta kebutuhan masyarakat akan buah nanas semakin meningkat. Untuk mengoptimalkan hasil produksi, daya dukung, potensi dan hambatan yang ada untuk suatu penggunaan lahan tertentu dalam budidaya harus kita ketahui, untuk itu dilakukan evaluasi lahan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi kesesuaian lahan kualitatif dan kuantitatif pada pertanaman nanas (Ananas comosus (L) Merr) Kelompok Tani Makmur Desa Astomulyo KecamatanPunggur Kabupaten Lampung Tengah. Evaluasi kesesuaian lahan kualitatif dilakukan menggunakan kriteria biofisik menurut Djaenuddin dkk. (2011), sedangkan penilaian secara kuantitatif adalah dengan menganalisa kelayakan finansial budidaya tanaman nanas dengan menghitung nilai NPV, Net B/C Ratio, IRR dan BEP. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa lahan pertanaman nanas (Ananas comosus (L) Merr) Kelompok Tani Makmur Desa Astomulyo termasuk ke dalam kelas kesesuaian lahan sesuai marginal dengan faktor pembatas ketersediaan air (S3wa), dan secara finansial menunjukkan bahwa nilai NPV sebesar Rp113.896.094,- , Net B/C sebesar 5,48, IRRsebesar 219%tahun -1 dan BEP (titik impas) akan dicapai dalam waktu 1 tahun 11 bulan 1 hari.Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa USAha budidaya tanaman nanas ini menguntungkan dan layak untuk dikembangkan
