Understanding the value of digital marketing tools for SMEs

    No full text
Digital marketing is gaining predominance in marketing strategies across the globe. Digitization is becoming more and more present in business, not just changes in consumer behavior, but the adoption of new technologies, tools, and applications is highly disruptive, with immediate impact on the business of all companies. The common link between digital marketing definitions is the use of tools, namely online tools. One of the biggest changes in human interaction is the recent proliferation of online social networks. Rapid growth of web-based platforms that facilitate online social behavior has significantly modified the nature of human activities, habitats, and interactions. Real-world social relationships have been migrated to the virtual world, resulting in online communities that bring people together from across the globe. This study aims to identify and describe the various digital marketing tools and which of these can be used to increase the SMEs competitiveness.info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersio

    NA62 Gigatracker

    No full text
The NA62 Gigatracker is composed of three hybrid pixel detectors in the rare kaon experiment, NA62, at CERN targeted to be installed end of 2012. Each station consists of 18000 300x300 micron large pixels. In order to suppress background events the Gigatracker measures the arrival time of particles with a time binning of 100 ps and correlates them with a ring imaging cherenkov detector in the experimental setup . The system is operating in vacuum at a temperature of maximum 5C. The radiation levels are 10 5 Gy and 2 x 10 14 1 MeV neutron equivalent per cm2 during 100 days of operation. The paper describes the detector system, two pixel-read out demonstrator ASICs and two cooling options which are considered at the moment for final implementation

Epidemiology of Epstein-Barr virus infection in pre-adolescent children: application of a new salivary method in Edinburgh, Scotland

STUDY OBJECTIVE: To describe the epidemiology of Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) among primary school children by testing saliva with a new EBV capsid antigen "G" antibody capture radioimmunoassay (GACRIA). DESIGN: A population based sample of 7 year old schoolchildren were followed up at age 11. SETTING: 30 randomly chosen primary schools in Edinburgh, Scotland. PARTICIPANTS: 552 schoolchildren. MEASUREMENTS: Data on risk factors for infection were collected by questionnaire at ages 7 and 11. Saliva samples collected at age 11 were examined by GACRIA for evidence of previous infection with EBV. For 102 subjects, a second salivary specimen collected approximately one month after the first sample was available for testing as a measure of the repeatability of the method. MAIN RESULTS: Unequivocal results were found in 91% of samples and the repeatability of the test was good (kappa = 0.71). Fifty six per cent of children had antibodies to EBV. In a logistic regression analysis, independent risk factors for infection were sharing a room (odds ratio 1.78, 1.14, 2.79), head of household's social class IV/V compared with I (odds ratio 2.87, 1.08, 7.34), and schools serving predominantly rented housing estates (odds ratio 2.3, 1.09, 4.84). CONCLUSION: This study is the first application of EBV viral capsid GACRIA to salivary samples. The method was successfully used to describe the epidemiology of EBV. In this study, characteristics of the home seemed to be more important than those of the school in determining the likelihood of infection with EBV.

Heavy neutrino searches and NA62 status

The NA62 experiment at CERN SPS recorded in 2007 a large sample of K+→μ+νμK^+\to\mu^+\nu_\mu decays. A peak search in the missing mass spectrum of this decay is performed. In the absence of observed signal, the limits obtained on B(K+→μ+νh)\mathcal{B}(K^+\to\mu^+\nu_h) and on the mixing matrix element ∣Uμ4∣2|U_{\mu4}|^2 are reported. The upgraded NA62 experiment started data taking in 2015, with the aim of measuring the branching fraction of the K+→π+ννˉK+\to\pi^+\nu\bar{\nu} decay. An update on the status of the experiment is presented. The NA62 experiment at CERN SPS recorded in 2007 a large sample of K+→μ+νμK^+ \to \mu^+ \nu_{\mu} decays.
