    Aim. To assess the state of membranes in nasal epithelial cells obtained from the patients with chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps (CRSwNP) with the help of the fluorescent probe 2-(2ʹ-ОН-phenyl)-5-phenyl-1,3-oxazole. Methods. The state of membrane phospholipid bilayer in suspensions of nasal epithelial cells isolated from ten patients with CRSwNP was evaluated using the fluorescent probe 2-(2ʹ-ОН-phenyl)-5-phenyl-1,3-oxazole that reacts on the physico-chemical properties of its microenvironment. Changes in fluorescence spectra were determined using a Thermo Scientific Lumina fluorescence spectrometer (Thermo Fisher Scientific) 1 hour after the addition of the probe to nasal epithelial cell suspensions. Results. CRSwNP was found to be associated with a higher rate of nasal epithelial cell membrane hydration in the region of phospholipid glycerol moiety, carbonyl groups and aliphatic chains of fatty acids attached to the carbonyl groups. Conclusion. Our findings suggest that CRSwNP is accompanied by the elevated hydration rate of the most polar region, namely polar heads of phospholipids of nasal epithelial cell membranes

    Spectroscopy of doubly charmed baryons: Ξcc+\Xi_{cc}^{+} and Ξcc++\Xi_{cc}^{++}

    Using the quark-diquark approximation in the framework of Buchm\" uller-Tye potential model, we investigate the spectroscopy of doubly charmed baryons: Ξcc++\Xi_{cc}^{++} and Ξcc+\Xi_{cc}^{+}. Our results include the masses, parameters of radial wave functions of states with the different excitations of both diquark and light quark-diquark system. We calculate the values of fine and hyperfine splittings of these levels and discuss some new features, connected to the identity of heavy quarks, in the dynamics of hadronic and radiative transitions between the states of these baryons.Comment: 10 pages, Latex file, 1 fig, corrected some typo

    Purpose. To study the type of relationship to the disease in patients with primary open-angle glaucoma of different age groups.Material and methods. The study involved 312 patients with primary open-angle glaucoma of the stages I –IV who were treated at the Regional Ophthalmological Hospital. The patients were divided into 3 groups: the group 1 had 104 patients of middle age (45–59 years old), of them: 44 male (42.3%) and 60 female (57.7%), the group 2 – 110 elderly people (60–74 years) of them: 46 male (41.8%) and 64 female (58.2%), the group 3 – 98 elderly patients (75 years and older) – 36 male (36.7%) and 62 female (63.3%). For a psychological diagnosis of types of attitude towards the disease, the ≪TOBOL≫ method was used.Results. Among the middle-aged patients, a harmonious and ergopathic type of attitude to the disease prevailed (21.95% and 20.14%, respectively) as well as a moderately pronounced sensitive type (11.23%). Among the elderly patients, a significant decrease was noted in indicators of a harmonious type of attitude to the disease, compared with the middle-aged patients (average indicators on a scale of harmony: 21.95±0.69 vs. 12.65±0.66; p≤0.05). Both males and females of advanced age were characterized by a high degree manifestation of anxious, hypochondriac, sensitive tendencies, with moderately pronounced neurasthenic and melancholic tendencies. Among the patients of senile age, a decrease in the harmonious type of attitude to the disease, a severity of hypochondriac and neurasthenic tendencies were also detected compared with the middle-aged patients.Conclusion. A comparative analysis of the types of attitude to the disease in patients with primary open-angle glaucoma of different age groups showed significant differences between individuals of the elderly and senile age compared with middle-aged people

    Langmuir wave linear evolution in inhomogeneous nonstationary anisotropic plasma

    Full text link
    Equations describing the linear evolution of a non-dissipative Langmuir wave in inhomogeneous nonstationary anisotropic plasma without magnetic field are derived in the geometrical optics approximation. A continuity equation is obtained for the wave action density, and the conditions for the action conservation are formulated. In homogeneous plasma, the wave field E universally scales with the electron density N as E ~ N^{3/4}, whereas the wavevector evolution varies depending on the wave geometry
