Phytohaemagglutinin on maternal and umbilical leukocytes

    Get PDF
Almost all the umbilical lymphocytes showed more extensive blast cell formation than that of their mother's lymphocytes with PHA. Pathological conditions of mother in pregnancy and labor such as anemia, gestational toxicosis, difficult labor and asphyxia of babies, inhibited the normal response of both maternal and umbilical lymphocytes to PHA.</p

Mixing among light scalar mesons and L=1 q\bar{q} scalar mesons

Following the re-establishment of the \sigma(600) and the \kappa(900), the light scalar mesons a_0(980) and f_0(980) together with the \sigma(600) and the \kappa(900) are considered as the chiral scalar partner of pseudoscalar nonet in SU(3) chiral symmetry, and the high mass scalar mesons a_0(1450), K^*_0(1430), f_0(1370) and f_0(1710) turned out to be considered as the L=1 q\bar{q} scalar mesons. We assume that the high mass of the L=1 q\bar{q} scalar mesons is caused by the mixing with the light scalar mesons. For the structure of the light scalar mesons, we adopted the qq\bar{q}\bar{q} model in order to explain the "scalar meson puzzle". The inter-mixing between the light scalar nonet and the high mass L=1 q\bar{q} nonet and the intra-mixing among each nonet are analyzed by including the glueball into the high mass scalar nonet.Comment: 16 pages, 5 figure

Sistema de avaliação de impacto social da inovação tecnológica agropecuária (Ambitec-Social).

    Get PDF
Emprego, ii. Renda, iii.

    SU(3) Mixing for Excited Mesons

The SU(3)-flavor symmetry breaking and the quark-antiquark annihilation mechanism are taken into account for describing the singlet-octet mixing for several nonets assigned by Particle Data Group(PDG). This task is approached with the mass matrix formalism

XANES study of rare-earth valency in LRu4P12 (L = Ce and Pr)

Valency of Ce and Pr in LRu4P12 (L = Ce and Pr) was studied by L2,3-edge x-ray absorption near-edge structure (XANES) spectroscopy. The Ce-L3 XANES spectrum suggests that Ce is mainly trivalent, but the 4f state strongly hybridizes with ligand orbitals. The band gap of CeRu4P12 seems to be formed by strong hybridization of 4f electrons. Pr-L2 XANES spectra indicate that Pr exists in trivalent state over a wide range in temperature, 20 < T < 300 K. We find that the metal-insulator (MI) transition at TMI = 60 K in PrRu4P12 does not originate from Pr valence fluctuation.Comment: 4 page

Anisotropic spin-density distribution and magnetic anisotropy of strained La1x_{1-x}Srx_xMnO3_3 thin films: Angle-dependent x-ray magnetic circular dichroism

    Get PDF
Magnetic anisotropies of ferromagnetic thin films are induced by epitaxial strain from the substrate via strain-induced anisotropy in the orbital magnetic moment and that in the spatial distribution of spin-polarized electrons. However, the preferential orbital occupation in ferromagnetic metallic La1x_{1-x}Srx_xMnO3_3 (LSMO) thin films studied by x-ray linear dichroism (XLD) has always been found out-of-plane for both tensile and compressive epitaxial strain and hence irrespective of the magnetic anisotropy. In order to resolve this mystery, we directly probed the preferential orbital occupation of spin-polarized electrons in LSMO thin films under strain by angle-dependent x-ray magnetic circular dichroism (XMCD). Anisotropy of the spin-density distribution was found to be in-plane for the tensile strain and out-of-plane for the compressive strain, consistent with the observed magnetic anisotropy. The ubiquitous out-of-plane preferential orbital occupation seen by XLD is attributed to the occupation of both spin-up and spin-down out-of-plane orbitals in the surface magnetic dead layer.Comment: 20 pages, 4 figure

3D RANS computations of open channel flows with a sharp bend

    Get PDF
This paper describes a 3D computation of an open channel flow with a sharp bend. The flow with a bend is characterized by generation of secondary current of the first kind due to the local unbalance of the centrifugal force and lateral pressure gradient. Since a non-linear k- model combined with a coarser computational grid is applied for the turbulence computation, the present method becomes much less expensive than LES approaches. The computation was performed under the same conditions of the laboratory test conducted by Blanckaert (2002). The present computation could capture qualitatively the main cell of the secondary current as well as a small cell called “outer-bank cell”. The agreement of profiles of velocities and Reynolds stresses is also shown to be satisfactorily. Considering the computational efficiency, it is pointed out that the present RANS approach is a practical tool for prediction of open channel flows with a sharp bend

Effects to Scalar Meson Decays of Strong Mixing between Low and High Mass Scalar Mesons

We analyze the mass spectroscopy of low and high mass scalar mesons and get the result that the coupling strengths of the mixing between low and high mass scalar mesons are very strong and the strengths of mixing for I=1,1/2I=1, 1/2 scalar mesons and those of I=0 scalar mesons are almost same. Next, we analyze the decay widths and decay ratios of these mesons and get the results that the coupling constants AA' for I=1,1/2I=1, 1/2 which represents the coupling of high mass scalar meson NN' -> two pseudoscalar mesons PPPP are almost same as the coupling AA' for the I=0. On the other hand, the coupling constant AA for I=1,I=1/2I=1, I=1/2 which represents the low mass scalar meson NN -> PPPP are far from the coupling constant AA for I=0. We consider a resolution for this discrepancy. Coupling constant AA'' for glueball GG -> PPPP is smaller than the coupling AA'. θP\theta_P is 405040^\circ \sim 50^\circ.Comment: 15 pages, 6 figure
