    The detection and classification of blast cell in Leukaemia Acute Promyelocytic Leukaemia (AML M3) blood using simulated annealing and neural networks

    This paper was delivered at AIME 2011: 13th Conference on Artifical Intelligence in Medicine.This paper presents a method for the detection and classification of blast cells in M3 with others sub-types using simulated annealing and neural networks. In this paper, we increased our test result from 10 images to 20 images. We performed Hill Climbing, Simulated Annealing and Genetic Algorithms for detecting the blast cells. As a result, simulated annealing is the “best” heuristic search for detecting the leukaemia cells. From the detection, we performed features extraction on the blast cells and we classifying based on M3 and other sub-types using neural networks. We received convincing result which has targeting around 97% in classifying of M3 with other sub-types.     Anomalous Chiral Fermi Surface

    We provide a geometrical argument for the emergence of a Wess-Zumino-Witten (WZW) term for a Fermi surface threaded by a Berry curvature. In the presence of external fields, the gauged WZW term yields a chiral (triangle) anomaly for the fermionic current at the edge of the Fermi surface. Fermion number is conserved though since the Berry curvatures occur always in pairs with opposite (monopole) charge. The anomalous vector and axial currents for a a fermionic fluid at low temperature threaded by pairs of Berry curvatures are discussed. The leading temperature correction to the chiral vortical effect in a slowly rotating Fermi surface threaded by a Berry curvature maybe tied to the gravitational anomaly.Comment: 4 pages; version to appear in PR

    Adaptive spatial mode of space-time and spacefrequency OFDM system over fading channels

    In this paper we present a 2 transmit 1 receive (1 Tx : 1 Rx) adaptive spatial mode (ASM) of space-time (ST) and space-frequency (SF) orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM). At low signal to noise ratio (SNR) we employ ST-OFDM and switch to SF-OFDM at a certain SNR threshold. We determine this threshold from the intersection of individual performance curves. Results show a gain of 9 dB (at a bit error rate of 10-3) is achieved by employing adaptive spatial mode compared to a fixed ST-OFDM, almost 6 dB to fixed SF-OFDM, 4 dB to Coded ST-OFDM and 2 dB to a fixed coded SF-OFDM, at a delay spread of 700 ns

    Bahasa Arab Fushha, yang dipengaruhi oleh dialek Bahasa Arab Qureisy, adalah bahasa lingua franca tidak saja bagi para sasterawan dari berbagai kabilah Arab sebagai media untuk menuangkan karya sastra yang berupa syair-syair, tetapi juga bagi masyarakat umum untuk menyampaikan pesan formal dalam khutbah dan pidato. Sementara dalam komunikasi rutinitas keseharian, kabilah-kabilah Arab menggunakan berbagai dialek yang jumlahnya tidak kurang 14 dialek, yakni: Istintha', Taltalah, Syansyanah, Thamthamaniyyah, 'Aj'ajah, 'An'anah, Fahfahah, Qith'ah, Kaskasah, Kasykasyah, Lakhlakhaaniyyah, Watam, Wakam, dan Waham.     Synthesis and characterization of silver nanoarticles from extract of Eucalyptus citriodora

    The primary motivation for the study to develop simple eco-friendly green synthesis of silver nanoparticles using leaf extract of Eucalyptus citriodora as reducing and capping agent. The green synthesis process was quite fast and silver nanoparticles were formed within 0.5 h. The synthesis of the particles was observed by UV-visible spectroscopy by noting increase in absorbance. Characterization of the particles was carried out by X-ray diffraction, FTIR and electron microscopy. The developed nanoparticles demonstrated that E. citriodora is good source of reducing agents. UV-visible absorption spectra of the reaction medium containing silver nanoparticles showed maximum absorbance at 460 nm. FTIR analysis confirmed reduction of Ag+ to Ag0 atom in silver nanoparticles. The XRD pattern revealed the crystalline structure of silver nanoparticles. The SEM analysis showed the size and shape of the nanoparticles. The method being green, fast, easy and cost effective can be recommended for large scale production of AgNPs for their use in food, medicine and materials

    Penerapan Strategi Mastery Learning Untuk Meningkatkan Minat Dan Hasil Belajar Materi Listrik Statis Pada Siswa SMA N 1 Krueng Barona Jaya Aceh Besar

    Telah dilakukan penelitian tentang peningkatan minat dan hasil belajar siswa pada materi listrik statis setelah siswa belajar melalui penerapan strategi mastery learning. Jenis penelitian ini adalah quasi eksperimen dengan desain pre-test-post-test control group design. Populasi dalam penelitian adalah seluruh siswa kelas XII SMA Negeri 1 Krueng Barona Jaya. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan cara random sampling dengan mengambil 2 kelas secara acak yaitu kelas XII-IA1 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas XII-IA4 sebagai kelas kontrol, dengan masing-masing jumlah sampel adalah 20 siswa. Instrumen yang digunakan untuk mengetahui hasil belajar siswa adalah tes hasil belajar dalam bentuk pilihan berganda sebanyak 20 soal dengan 4 options yang telah dinyatakan valid dengan uji persyaratan instrumen. Instrumen penilaian minat belajar siswa menggunakan lembar angket untuk melihat minat belajar siswa pada proses pembelajaran. Berdasarkan hasil isian angket terhadap minat belajar diperoleh siswa mempunyai minat belajar yang tinggi mendapatkan hasil belajar yang tinggi dengan diterapkan strategi mastery learning. Dari hasil uji kolmogorov-smirnov dengan menggunakan SPSS 17 diperoleh bahwa kedua kelas terdistribusi normal dan homogen. Hasil uji t dua pihak diperoleh nilai signifikan 0,404 sehingga thitung ttabel yaitu 3,126 >2,018 pada taraf signifikansi 0,05 maka H0 ditolak. Dengan demikian disimpulkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan hasil belajar akibat pengaruh strategi pembelajaran mastery learning pada materi listrik statis di kelas XII IPA SMA N 1 Krueng Barona Jaya Aceh Besar
