People living all over the world belong to different religions, follow different cultures and speak different languages. If people of one nation go to another nation for their livelihood or education, they have to adapt themselves to the changing situations and places lest they should experience untold sufferings. Life throws all a lot of challenges, both simple and complicated, and it is up to all to rise and perform, take decisions that can be sometimes satisfying, and sometimes disturbing, and walk through it as if none were affected by it. It is not an easy thing to do. It is never easy to answer his heart as the questions surface and resurfaces time and again. Life is not a bed of roses to live easily. Lahiri is an Indian by birth but she has America as her permanent dwelling place. Hence, she has faced a lot of problems as an immigrant which she tries to show in her work. Hers are perfectly placed words lining themselves into elegant sentences whose subject matter: family, mothers and daughters, assimilation, alcoholism, children, marital love and touch us all

Bixa orellana L., is an evergreen shrub or a small tree, measuring 2-8 m and is a native of Brazil. The tree is Cultivated for its Non-Toxic, Edible Food dye Bixin also called popularly as Annatto having Orange- red color. Bixa orellana L., is one of the 13 natural food dye yielding plants. The pigment bixin extracted from its seeds are economically important next to caramel and saffron .Bixin also replaces the most expensive saffron as a colouring agent in various food preparations as it is not all that expensive as saffron. Bixa orellana L., being Monospecific genera, there are no concrete evidences in the literature to classify the various species in this genus. Our earlier studies reported the existence of Intraspecific diversity by identifying the 5 diverse accessions out of 20 accessions of Bixa orellana L., identified and studied from various areas of Bangalore, Karnataka showing Morphological, Physiological and Genetic Variations and also variations in the dye-Bixin content among the above mentioned 5 diverse accessions of the same. The present study reported the 6th diverse accession of Bixa orellana L., identified from Bangalore itself in confirmation of our earlier reports of the existence of intraspecific diversity in the s

A study on the Challenges and the Prospects of Advocate

An lawyer is the maximum misunderstood expert. he is the envy of many and scorn of others. it is therefore critical to strive a discourse on his responsibilities, rights, worrying conditions, expectancies and prospect. that is what i have tried on this essay. Advocacy and raising consciousness approximately a charitable cause can be every difficult and nerve-racking. it could be quite difficult to get human beings to interact together along with your mind and keep away from coming across as self-righteous. Environmentalists and feminists are frequently negatively stereotyped, and road fundraisers branded as “charity muggers”. latest research backs this up: the ones negative stereotypes are a barrier to social change. Being an lawyer can be an unsettling, scary, heartbreaking, and frightening revel in. but, the revel in of closing silent inside the face of human beings being denied their rights would be immeasurably worse

An Inclusive Report on Robust Malware Detection and Analysis for Cross-Version Binary Code Optimizations

    Get PDF
Numerous practices exist for binary code similarity detection (BCSD), such as Control Flow Graph, Semantics Scrutiny, Code Obfuscation, Malware Detection and Analysis, vulnerability search, etc. On the basis of professional knowledge, existing solutions often compare particular syntactic aspects retrieved from binary code. They either have substantial performance overheads or have inaccurate detection. Furthermore, there aren't many tools available for comparing cross-version binaries, which may differ not only in programming with proper syntax but also marginally in semantics. This Binary code similarity detection is existing for past 10 years, but this research area is not yet systematically analysed. The paper presents a comprehensive analysis on existing Cross-version Binary Code Optimization techniques on four characteristics: 1. Structural analysis, 2. Semantic Analysis, 3. Syntactic Analysis, 4. Validation Metrics.  It helps the researchers to best select the suitable tool for their necessary implementation on binary code analysis. Furthermore, this paper presents scope of the area along with future directions of the research

Analysis of Heavy Metals in Edible Jams-A Case Study

    Get PDF
Heavy metals are present naturally in relatively low amounts in the earth’s crust. Through food, drinking water and the air, humans absorb trace amounts of these elements. Trace amounts of some heavy metals, such as selenium, zinc, and copper, are key to maintaining the metabolism of the human body. At high concentrations usually found in contaminated environments, such as and contaminated water, heavy metals can cause poisonings resulting in impaired mental and central nervous function, as well as damage to vital organs. Long-term exposure may result in slowly progressing physical, muscular, and neurological degenerative conditions including cancer. Arsenic, cadmium, mercury, lead and inorganic tin account for a majority of heavy metal poisoning cases involving food products. Levels of arsenic are naturally high in fish and seafood. Found in soil due to the presence of insecticides, fungicides, sludge and commercial fertilizers, cadmium can contaminate agricultural food products. Mercury is an industrial pollutant as well as a by-product of volcanic emission. In recent years, a number of products, ranging from protein shakes to baby formula to fresh produce, have been linked to heavy metal contamination. Spurred by consumer calls for safer products, regulatory agencies around the globe are taking steps to detect and minimize the presence of hazardous heavy metals in food. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) enforces action levels for poisonous or deleterious substances in human food and animal feed, including cadmium, lead, mercury, and others. For most people, diet is the main route of exposure to trace metals, so the assessment risks of these elements to human via dietary intake is important. Cooking jams using fruits, sugar, pectin and edible acids is one of the oldest food preserving processes known to mankind and presents a way of making food stable by increasing the content in soluble solids. In the recent times lots of research findings revealed the presence of deleterious artificial colorants above the permissible levels as well as the heavy metals in sweets, cakes, ice creams etc. Hence Spurred and encouraged by the above reports we authors in our studies analyzed 5 different mixed fruit jam samples of 5 different brands collected from 5 different areas of Bangalore city for some of the heavy metals like Cadmium, Lead, Chromium and Mercury. Our preliminary analysis revealed the minimal permissible levels of all the above mentioned heavy metals in all the 5 different brands which clearly confirms the very presence of the heavy metals at first and secondly also incites a doubt of their usage for human consumption especially for young children who like the very taste of it as to how safe are these Food stuffs contaminated with heavy metals and with carcinogenic artificial food colorants and hence we strongly recommend the Scientific Community to hold a detailed research of these Fruit Jam samples in the near future

    Get PDF
The current study explores the anticoagulant, fibrinogenolytic and anti-platelet aggregation activities of Lablab purpureus (L.) Sweet seed radicle extract (LPRE). It is firstly reported that LPRE has protein at a concentration of 1.5 mg/ml and further evaluated for protein in gel electrophoresis. The proteolytic activity of LPRE was evaluated using casein and gelatin as substrate. LPRE showed a specific activity of 0.35 U. LPRE increased the plasma clotting time significantly showing its anticoagulant property. LPRE hydrolyzed the A?, B? and ? chains of fibrinogen. Furthermore, LPRE significantly inhibited the platelet aggregation induced by agonist adenosine diphosphate (ADP)

Unengaged head at term in primigravida: does it affect the chance of having a normal delivery?

Background: In Obstetrics it is traditional concept that fetal head engagement occurs by 38 weeks in primigravida. Unengaged head in primigravida has been considered a possible sign of cephalo pelvic disproportion. It is associated with higher risk of cervical dystocia, which has led to increased rate of caesarean section with its financial implication and future restriction of family size. Labour is prolonged, the duration of both latent and active phase increases, due to improper fitting high fetal head. Methods: The prospective descriptive study was conducted at the Yenepoya Medical College hospital OBG Department.  Study population included were 75 primi gravidas with unengaged head at term. Details of labour were noted down.  Augmentation was done with oxytocin and dose of oxytocin was titrated . CTG was used to monitor fetal heart.  Emergency LSCS was performed in patients with fetal distress or non-progress of labour.  In case of vagina delivery, duration of 1st and 2nd stage, APGAR score at 1 and 5 minutes, and birth weights were recorded. Results: Of the 75 primigravida 66.66% were in the age group of 21-25yrs.  Majority of the women were of 39-40 weeks (42.66%) of gestation. Common causes of unengaged head was deflexed head in 15 (20%) CPD in 11 (14.66%), loops of cord around neck in 8 (10.66%), polyhydramnios in 2(2.66%), placenta previa type-I and II  : anterior in 5 (6.66%) 8 patients were with occipito posterior position.  No cause could be identified in 27 cases (36%). Vaginal delivery occurred in 68% and LSCS in 32%.Conclusions: Unengaged head in primi gravida with spontaneous onset of labour is not an indication for LSCS. The attitude of watchful expectancy and timely intervention especially in those cases in which no significant etiological factor is found, the chances of vaginal birth increase there by reducing maternal land foetal morbidity
