Shape from perspective trihedral angle constraint

    Get PDF
Abstract: This paper defines and investigates a fundamental problem of determining the position and orientation of a 3 0 object using $ingle perspective i m g e view. The technique is based on the interpretation of trihedral angle constraid informution. A new closed form solution io the problem is proposed. The method also provides a general analytic technique for dealing with a class of problem of shape from inverse perspective projection by using "Angle to Angle Correspondence Information ". Simulation experiments show that our method is enective and robust for real application. t This research ispariially supported by ONR NooO14-91-J1306

A denotational semantics for the generalized ER model and a simple ER algebra

The recent spurt of research activities in Entity-Relationship Approach to databases calls for a close scrutiny of the semantics of the underlying Entity-Relationship models, data manipulation languages, data definition languages, etc. For reasons well known, it is very desirable and sometimes imperative to give formal description of the semantics. In this paper, we consider a specific ER model, the generalized Entity-Relationship model (without attributes on relationships) and give denotational semantics for the model as well as a simple ER algebra based on the model. Our formalism is based on the Vienna Development Method—the meta language (VDM). We also discuss the salient features of the given semantics in detail and suggest directions for further work

Sexual Dimorphism in Human Mandibular Canine Teeth: A Radiomorphometric Study

Objectives: The objective of this study was to determine whether the variation in the mesiodistal measurement of mandibular canine played a role in sex determination. Materials and methods: The study comprised of patients in the age group of 19 to 24 years (20 males and 20 females). Mesiodistal measurement of mandibular canines was measured at the maximum mesiodistal width first intraorally, then on plaster models of the same patient followed by intraoral periapical radiograph of the same patient. Results: From the findings of the study, it may be inferred that there exists a definite statistically significant difference in the mesiodistal width of mandibular canines when measured for males and females. Moreover, the left mandibular canine showed a greater sexual dimorphism (9.7%) when compared to the right mandibular canine (7.4%) Conclusion: The present study establishes a statistically significant sexual dimorphism in mandibular canines- It can be concluded that the standard mandibular canine index is a quick and easy method for sex determination

An Ontology Based Prediction Process on Vertically Partitioned Data with Privacy Preservation

Privacy preservation emphasize on authorization of data, which signi es that data should be accessed only by authorized users. The generalization of data with varying concept hierarchies seems to be interesting solution. This paper proposes two stage predic tion processes on privacy preserved data. The generalization with betraying is performed in rst stage to de ne the knowledge or hypothesis and which is further optimized using gradient descent method in second stage prediction process to obtain accurate results. The experiment carried with both batch and stochastic gradient methods and it is shown that bulk operation performed by batch takes more iterations than stochastic to give accurate solution

Traumatic Sialocele of Parotid Duct: Report of a Case with Review of Literature

    No full text
Parotid gland or duct injury can be caused by assault with a knife, bottle, or more rarely gunshot. Post-traumatic parotid gland and duct injuries are not common. The low rate of occurence of parotid injury may account for the missed diagnosis of parotid and duct injury on admission and, after a varying period sialoceles or fistula. This report describes a case of a post-traumatic sialocele of parotid gland. A review of the literature and description of the medical and surgical management options for these injuries are also provided
