On the polar decomposition of right linear operators in quaternionic Hilbert spaces

In this article we prove the existence of the polar decomposition for densely defined closed right linear operators in quaternionic Hilbert spaces: If TT is a densely defined closed right linear operator in a quaternionic Hilbert space HH, then there exists a partial isometry U0U_{0} such that T=U0TT = U_{0}|T|. In fact U0U_{0} is unique if N(U0)=N(T)N(U_{0}) = N(T). In particular, if HH is separable and UU is a partial isometry with T=UTT = U|T|, then we prove that U=U0U = U_{0} if and only if either N(T)={0}N(T) = \{0\} or R(T)={0}R(T)^{\bot} = \{0\}.Comment: 17 page

    Get PDF
Globally, 14% of reproductive aged women use intrauterine contraception. The five intrauterine contraceptive devices (IUCDs) currently approved are chemically active and continually elute either copper or levonorgestrel. Uterine perforation is most serious and rare complication which can be acute or chronic in nature. Although uncommon, uterine embedment and perforation can occur. We report case of transmigration of intrauterine contraceptive device into the urinary bladder wall perforating the uterine wall in 25-year-old gravid female. She was subjected to ultrasound abdomen and pelvis which unveiled the diagnosis of migrated copper-T. Under spinal anaesthesia, laparotomy was done and IUCD was removed

AIM OF THE STUDY: The aim of the study is to find, whether the presence of systemic autoimmune diseases in an individual is a risk factor for the development of Periodontal disease. MATERIALS AND METHODS: A sample of 253 patients with Systemic autoimmune diseases, attending the Rheumatology department of Madras Medical College and Government General Hospital, Chennai-3 and 262 patients without Systemic autoimmune diseases, attending the outpatient department of the Tamilnadu Government Dental College and Hospital, Chennai -3 constituted the case and control groups. Age, gender and Oral hygiene status matching was done. Oral hygiene status was assessed using Oral Hygiene Index original and Periodontal status was assessed using Community Periodontal Index in association with Loss of Attachment Index. Statistical analysis was done using SPSS version 15. RESULTS: Results showed 99.2% and 73.9% prevalence of gingivitis and periodontitis respectivelyin the case group as compared to 85.5% and 14.9% in the control group. Results also showed no linear relationship between oral hygiene scores (OHI-original) and prevalence of periodontitis (CPI & LOA scores) in case group. CONCLUSION: Patients suffering from systemic autoimmune diseases showed more prevalence of periodontal diseases irrespective of oral hygiene scores. Hence one may assume that the presence of systemic autoimmune diseases in a patient leads to risk in development of periodontal disease. Conversely in patients with periodontal disease with no local factors, one must rule out any undiagnosed systemic autoimmune diseases

In this paper, a new Intervention Meditation approach is outlined by the current author. To overcome lack of clarity in defining meditation, a new universal Operational definition of meditation is proposed with elaborative explanation. The new meditation approach has multitude of deeper concepts from Bhagavad Gita and modern psychology and the expert / Guru of the proposed method must be a qualified and experienced before getting trained on this approach specifically. This paper elevates meditation from a casual approach level to a separate systematic branch of psychology level. IndexTerms - Intervention Meditation, Core feel, Self-imposed bondages, Guessing, Humming Breathin

One of the common in progressing countries is the maintenance of roads. Well maintained roads contribute a major portion to the country’s economy. Identification of pavement distress such as potholes and humps not only help drivers to avoid accidents or vehicle damages, but also helps authorities to maintain roads. This paper discusses various pothole detection methods that have been developed and proposes a simple and cost-effective solution to identify the potholes and humps on roads and provide timely alerts to drivers to avoid accidents or vehicle damages. Not only Potholes and humps are the main cause of accidents other than over speeding and drowsiness of driver includes the issue of accidents. Drowsy state may be caused by lack of sleep, medication, tiredness, drugs or driving continuously for long period of time. So, here is the solution for detecting the potholes and humps and to alert the driver from drowsiness while driving. In this paper, the system is structured to detect potholes and to alert the drowsy driver by using the ultrasonic sensor, eyeblink sensor and IR sensor and microcontroller. Ultrasonic sensor senses the humps, IR sensor senses the potholes and eye blink sensor the blinking of eye and this sensing signals fed into the Arduino to alert the driver by buzzer sound

Preemptive Routing & Intrusion Detection for MANETs

An ad-hoc network will often change rapidly in topology, this courses for routes in the network to often disappear and new to arise. The Ad-hoc On-Demand Distance Vector Routing Protocol(AODV), is based on the principle of discover routes as needed. In this paper we will extend the definition of AODV with the ability to discover multiple routes to a host and switch between them, if an active route is becoming weak and there is a risk that it will disappear. We will refer to it as pre-emptive AOMDV . We will show that the performance of pre-emptive AOMDV do handle changes in topology better than AODV it self. To show the effect of extending AODV, the suggested protocol is implemented in a simulator. Performance enhancements will be presented from different scenarios, to compare pre-emptive AOMDV with the ordinary AODV. In this paper we also focus on intrusion detection based on Finite State Machine and cache memory in ad hoc networks. Security is one of the most important issues in current networks. The most common cases of attacks in mobile Ad hoc networks can be drop of routing packets and changes in the incoming packets which aims at disrupting the network routing and overall network reduce performance. The presented approach based on FSM focuses at recognizing the malicious nodes within the network in a fast and accurate way, then it deals with rapid introduction of the malicious nodes to other nodes in the network to prevent sending multiple packets and drop and packet change. Finally, we will show the significant improvement in comparison with others, we simulated our methods by NS2 software

Journey of a fish from the vagina to the bladder: a case report

Foreign bodies in the genitourinary tracts are not uncommon and is often a challenge to remove them from the bladder. This case is a peculiar one where there was a migration of a live fish from the vagina to the bladder. A 60- year- old post-menopausal woman while taking bath in a pond felt that there was an entry of fish into the vagina. Her complaints were pain and bleeding per vagina and there was no leakage of urine. At the peripheral health facility, she underwent exploration of the vagina under local anesthesia after placing the foley catheter which was draining blood-stained urine. The patient was then referred to us. There was a laceration at the right anterolateral fornix. Fish could be palpated with the finger. She underwent routine blood tests and CT KUB which revealed a foreign body at the right anterolateral side of the vagina. Cystoscopy showed a laceration of 1×1 cm noted in the posterior wall of bladder approximately 1cm above right ureteric orifice, through which the fish was seen. Through speculum examination, the rent was visible and the remnants of the fish were removed vaginally. Laparotomy and rent repair was done because of the rent in the bladder. Foreign bodies into the bladder are common and invariably seen among children, women who have psychiatric problems. Common foreign bodies seen are broomsticks, toothbrushes, pencils, gauze, sutures, clips, IUCD, etc. Fish as a foreign body is a very rare condition. The unusual entry of a fish into the vagina has eroded and entered the bladder. Prompt investigations like CT scans and cystoscopy can help in the removal of foreign bodies
