Stability Analysis of Optimal Velocity Model for Traffic and Granular Flow under Open Boundary Condition
We analyzed the stability of the uniform flow solution in the optimal
velocity model for traffic and granular flow under the open boundary condition.
It was demonstrated that, even within the linearly unstable region, there is a
parameter region where the uniform solution is stable against a localized
perturbation. We also found an oscillatory solution in the linearly unstable
region and its period is not commensurate with the periodicity of the car index
space. The oscillatory solution has some features in common with the

Should I Stay or Should I go? Founder Power and Exit via Initial Public Offering
Founders can voluntarily exit their ventures via initial public offerings (IPOs). In this study, we build on power theory to develop and test a model of founder exit using a dataset of 313 founders from 177 entrepreneurial IPOs between 2002 and 2010. We largely find support for the model—a negative relationship between founder power and full exit. To capture the underlying mechanism of the power-exit relationship, we conducted two experiments in which we randomly assigned decision makers to either a high- or low-power condition. We find that decision makers in the low-power condition are more likely to use a full exit via IPO than those in the high-power condition and that frustration mediates this relationship. However, founders can also engage in partial exits, including a managerial partial exit in which the founder leaves management but keeps ownership and a financial partial exit in which the founder divests ownership but remains in management. We find that the negative relationship between founder power and exit is more negative for full exits than partial exits. With this paper, we contribute to the literature on exit by identifying a novel mechanism—frustration—underlying power’s influence on the likelihood and type of founder exit
Status of Spin Physics - Experimental Summary
The current status of spin physics experiments, based on talks presented at
the Third Circum-Pan-Pacific Symposium on High Energy Spin Physics held in
Beijing, 2001, is summarized in this article. Highlights of recent experimental
results at SLAC, JLab, and DESY, as well as future plans at these facilities

An Invariance Principle of G-Brownian Motion for the Law of the Iterated Logarithm under G-expectation
The classical law of the iterated logarithm (LIL for short)as fundamental
limit theorems in probability theory play an important role in the development
of probability theory and its applications. Strassen (1964) extended LIL to
large classes of functional random variables, it is well known as the
invariance principle for LIL which provide an extremely powerful tool in
probability and statistical inference. But recently many phenomena show that
the linearity of probability is a limit for applications, for example in
finance, statistics. As while a nonlinear expectation--- G-expectation has
attracted extensive attentions of mathematicians and economists, more and more
people began to study the nature of the G-expectation space. A natural question
is: Can the classical invariance principle for LIL be generalized under
G-expectation space? This paper gives a positive answer. We present the

Candidate MKiD nucleus 106Rh in triaxial relativistic mean-field approach with time-odd fields
The configuration-fixed constrained triaxial relativistic mean-field approach
is extended by including time-odd fields and applied to study the candidate
multiple chiral doublets (MKiD) nucleus 106Rh. The energy contribution from
time-odd fields and microscopical evaluation of center-of-mass correction as
well as the modification of triaxial deformation parameters beta, gamma due to
the time-odd fields are investigated. The contributions of the time-odd fields
to the total energy are 0.1-0.3 MeV and they modify slightly the gamma values.

The Impact of Revenue Diversification on Bank Profitability and Stability: Empirical Evidence from South Asian Countries
This paper is a contribution to the ongoing debate on the benefits and drawbacks of bank revenue diversification. Revenue diversification may benefit banks if diversified activities are inherently less risky and possess high returns, while it may hurt banks if diversified activities are more risky and have low returns. Analyzing a panel dataset of 200 commercial banks from all South Asian countries, we found that overall revenue diversification into non-interest income has a positive impact on the profitability and stability of South Asian commercial banks. We further observed that different types of non-interest income-generating activities have different impacts on bank performance and stability. While fees and commission incomes have a negative impact on the profitability and stability of South Asian commercial banks, other non-interest income has a positive impact. Our results imply that banks can benefit from revenue diversification if they diversify into specific types of non-interest income-generating activities. Our findings are robust and relevant to the use of alternative measures of revenue diversification, profitability and stability
