QCD Structure of Leptons
The QCD structure of the electron is defined and calculated. The leading
order splitting functions are extracted, showing an important contribution from
- interference. Leading logarithmic QCD evolution equations are
constructed and solved in the asymptotic region where log behaviour of the
parton densities is observed. Corrections to the naive evolution procedure are
demonstrated. Possible applications with clear manifestation of 'resolved'
photon and weak bosons are discussed.Comment: 10 pages, 5 figures, revised versio
Strange matter bubble formation inside neutron matter
Initial stages of the phase transition of the neutron matter into strange matter at zero temperature and finite pressure are considered. Bubble formation is calculated numerically for pressures typical for a neutron star interior. The critical bubble size decreases rapidly with pressure, reaching minimum at p 20 MeV/fm
On approximation of solutions of multidimensional SDE's with reflecting boundary conditions
AbstractLet D be either a convex domain in Rd or a domain satisfying the conditions (A) and (B) considered by Lions and Sznitman [7] and Saisho [11]. We estimate the rate of Lp convergence for Euler and Euler–Peano schemes for stochastic differential equations in D with normal reflection at the boundary of the form Xt=X0+∫t0f(Xs) dWs+∫t0g(Xs) ds+Kt,t∈R+, where W is a d-dimensional Wiener process. As a consequence we give the rate of almost sure convergence for these schemes
QCD jet fragmentation functions
Analytic solutions for the jet fragmentation functions in the leading log approximation for close to 1 are found and compared with exact numerical results
Higgs Boson Production and Weak Boson Structure
The influence of the QCD structure of the weak bosons on the Higgs boson
production in - scattering is studied. The energy and Higgs boson mass
dependence of the cross-section, following from the new contributions, is
calculated.Comment: 8 pages, 3 figures, compressed uuencoded Postscript fil
Higgs boson production in deep inelastic scattering and photon structure function
The standard Higgs boson production in deep inelastic scattering is considered. The contribution from the quark and gluon structure of the photon is calculated. At HERA energies this production channel is below the weak boson fusion
Elastic p-p cross-section and longitudinal motion of quarks
We show that quark longitudinal degrees of freedom are important for the shape of the elastic p–p cross-section calculated in the dressed quark model using Glauber multiple scattering expansion. We find also that in this model multiple scattering terms are greater than required by data
