    Pion-Nucleus Scattering at Medium Energies with Densities from Chiral Effective Field Theories

    Recently developed chiral effective field theory models provide excellent descriptions of the bulk characteristics of finite nuclei, but have not been tested with other observables. In this work, densities from both relativistic point-coupling models and mean-field meson models are used in the analysis of meson-nucleus scattering at medium energies. Elastic scattering observables for 790 MeV/cc π±\pi^{\pm} on 208^{208}Pb are calculated in a relativistic impulse approximation, using the Kemmer-Duffin-Petiau formalism to calculate the π±\pi^{\pm} nucleus optical potential.Comment: 9 page

    Educational Dialogue in the Conditions of Edification of Primary Education: Axiological Aspect

    The article presents an empirical research of the problem of educational edification in the axiological plane, analyzes scientific literature, history, and strategies of edificatory changes in response to contemporary challenges in primary education, substantiates the features of cultural and historical and pedagogical processes related to the changes in pedagogical mentality in the context of edification and the new paradigm of education. The essence of edifying changes in the sphere of human culture and educational activity as a part of this culture are analyzed, including systematized general historical and pedagogical and general pedagogical foundations of edification in elementary education through educational dialogue as the means of active formation of a personality of the younger student. It is established that valuable and epistemological anthropocentrism determine the specifics of social philosophical analysis of the role of human-centric education, that sociocentrism of the sociological approach promotes the integration of modern theories into a unified methodological educational strategy, and that in the world a hermeneutical-dialogical tradition has been created, according to which a person develops through action and dialogue that which connects him with culture and the world. The credibility of the research results was confirmed by means of a Mann-Whitney U-test and the accuracy criterion for the differences of averages of the student's t-test for independent selections. On the basis of the research conducted the problems and directions are defined, and strategic, general pedagogical means of changes bringing edification through educational dialogue in primary education are outlined as an effective direction of its reformation

    Endothelial dysfunction in patients after COVID-19

    Relevance: Over the past two years, the COVID-19 infection has gained unprecedented relevance at the global level. All countries are spending significant resources in the fight against COVID-19 [1 2]. The purpose of the work is to clarify the issue of the state of the kidneys in the distant post-covid period (after 2-3 months), we conducted a study of the kidneys simultaneously with the desquamation of the endothelium, as one of the probable mechanisms of the nephrotic effect of the COVID-19 virus. Materials and methods: 29 people participated in the study. Patients with post-covid syndrome (n=10) were treated on an outpatient basis at the "KNP "Center of primary medical and sanitary (medical and sanitary) care No. 3, Odesa" of the Odesa City Council" in the period from 2020 to 2021. The control group consisted of patients without cardiovascular and endocrine disorders, comparable in terms of gender and age, who were examined in 2018 at the Odesa Regional Clinical Medical Center of the Odesa Regional Council. Endothelial dysfunction "ED" was determined by the intensity of desquamation of the endothelium according to the method of J. Hladovec as modified by M.M. Petryschev. and other. (2001).           Statistical analysis was performed using Status software [https://status-please.herokuapp.com/]. Mean values ​​(M) and its standard deviation (SD) were used to describe quantitative data, and percentages were used for qualitative data. For comparison, data were presented as M and standard error of the mean (SEM). Analysis of normality was performed using the Shapiro-Wilk test. Levene's test was used to assess homogeneity of variances. Differences between groups were determined using Student's t-test and one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA). The relationship and presence of correlation between the studied parameters was determined using the Pearson correlation coefficient (r). The correlation coefficient in the range of 0.5≤|r|<1 indicated a strong correlation relationship, 0.3≤|r|<0.5 – a relationship of medium strength, 0<|r|<0.3 – on a weak correlation. Statistical significance was established only at the level of p < 0.05. Results: 17 men and 12 women aged from 32 to 80 years who suffered from a disease of moderate severity participated in the study. The average age of the group of patients with post-covid syndrome (n=9) is 55.9±14.47 years, the average age of the control group (n=20) is 55.95±14.47 years. There were no complaints from the urinary system in the examined patients. According to blood serum tests, it was established that the creatinine level among patients with post-covid syndrome was on average 113±11.91 μmol/l, the urea level was 8.11±1.2 mmol/l, the GFR level was 55.06±12, 19 ml/min/1.73. m2. In the control group, the numbers were as follows: creatinine level was 73.2±8.5 μmol/l, mean urea level was 4.61 mmol/l, GFR was 94.78±13.76 ml/min/1.73 m2. Conclusions: 2-3 months after the transfer of COVID-19, the examined patients show signs of chronic kidney disease. After a disease with COVID-19, an increase in CEC is detected, which is a manifestation of endothelial dysfunction

    Effective Field Theory for Bulk Properties of Nuclei

    Gene expression of circulating tumour cells and its correlation with tumour stage in breast cancer patients

    <p>Abstract</p> <p>Background</p> <p>Breast cancer (BC) represents one of the leading causes of cancer related deaths worldwide. New tools for diagnostic staging and therapeutic monitoring are needed to improve individualized therapies and improve clinical outcome. The analyses of circulating tumour cells may provide important prognostic information in the clinical setting.</p> <p>Materials and methods</p> <p>Circulating tumour cells (CTC) of 63 BC patients were isolated from peripheral blood (PB) through immunomagnetic separation. Subsequently, RT-PCR or mPCR for the genes <it>ga733.2</it>, <it>muc-1</it>, <it>c-erbB2</it>, <it>mgb-1</it>, <it>spdef </it>and <it>c-erbB2 </it>were performed. Subsequently, expression data were correlated with the tumour stages. Fourteen healthy individuals served as controls.</p> <p>Results</p> <p>Significant correlations with tumour stages were found in single gene analyses of <it>ga733.2</it>, <it>muc-1 </it>and in multi-gene analyses of <it>ga733.2</it>/<it>muc-1</it>/<it>mgb1</it>/<it>spdef</it>. Furthermore, a significant correlation of <it>Ca 15-3 </it>and all studied genes was also observed.</p> <p>Conclusion</p> <p>Herein, we demonstrated a positive correlation of a gene signature consisting of <it>ga733.2</it>, <it>muc-1</it>, <it>mgb1 </it>and <it>spdef </it>and advanced stages of BC. Moreover, all studied genes and gene patterns revealed a significant correlation with <it>Ca 15-3 </it>positive cases.</p

    The Axial-Vector Current in Nuclear Many-Body Physics

    Weak-interaction currents are studied in a recently proposed effective field theory of the nuclear many-body problem. The Lorentz-invariant effective field theory contains nucleons, pions, isoscalar scalar (σ\sigma) and vector (ω\omega) fields, and isovector vector (ρ\rho) fields. The theory exhibits a nonlinear realization of SU(2)L×SU(2)RSU(2)_L \times SU(2)_R chiral symmetry and has three desirable features: it uses the same degrees of freedom to describe the axial-vector current and the strong-interaction dynamics, it satisfies the symmetries of the underlying theory of quantum chromodynamics, and its parameters can be calibrated using strong-interaction phenomena, like hadron scattering or the empirical properties of finite nuclei. Moreover, it has recently been verified that for normal nuclear systems, it is possible to systematically expand the effective lagrangian in powers of the meson fields (and their derivatives) and to reliably truncate the expansion after the first few orders. Here it is shown that the expressions for the axial-vector current, evaluated through the first few orders in the field expansion, satisfy both PCAC and the Goldberger--Treiman relation, and it is verified that the corresponding vector and axial-vector charges satisfy the familiar chiral charge algebra.     Sensitivities of the Proton-Nucleus Elastical Scattering Observables of 6He and 8He at Intermediate Energies

    We investigate the use of proton-nucleus elastic scattering experiments using secondary beams of 6He and 8He to determine the physical structure of these nuclei. The sensitivity of these experiments to nuclear structure is examined by using four different nuclear structure models with different spatial features using a full-folding optical potential model. The results show that elastic scattering at intermediate energies (<100 MeV per nucleon) is not a good constraint to be used to determine features of structure. Therefore researchers should look elsewhere to put constraints on the ground state wave function of the 6He and 8He nuclei.Comment: To be published in Phys. Rev.
