    Organic Food Consumption among Urban Consumers: Preliminary Results

    AbstractThe consumption of organic food is on the rise due to increasing health consciousness among Malaysians regarding food intake, as well as to the growth of the organic agricultural sector in this country. Therefore, this study attempts to investigate Malaysian consumers’ awareness and intention towards organic food consumption. A questionnaire survey was conducted for this study and the questionnaire was distributed to respondents in the townships of Shah Alam and Subang Jaya. Early results show respondents are highly aware of organic food, they find organic food to be good for their health as well as have the intention to purchase organic food products for their families

    Plagiarism: An Empirical Evidence of Business Students

    As the education world places countless emphasis on achievement and success, the issue of academic dishonesty particularly involving plagiarism has reached prevalent extents especially in the institutions of higher learning. Since this contemporary problem in higher education requires very urgent attention to curb, various factors were assessed for their influence on students’ degree of plagiarism act. Therefore, this paper focuses on the extent of the business students’ self-perceived plagiarism and factors contributing to the act.  A total of 152 questionnaires were collected from final year students of four business degree programs in one of a public university in Malaysia. Findings revealed that negative attitude, followed by competence lacking were the major contributors of self-perceived plagiarism.     Challenges of Using Online Distance Learning Platforms in Higher Education: Perception of Business Students

    The year 2020 has changed the world of education intensely with the distinctive rise of online distance learning (ODL), whereby teaching and learning are undertaken remotely and on digital platforms. Driven by both the pandemic and advancements in digital technologies, the new norm of online learning continues to persist post-pandemic. Therefore, this paper explored the extent of ODL challenges faced by semester 5 business students in one of the public universities in Malaysia. Their perception of internal and external challenges namely time management, attitude, self-esteem, internet connection, socioeconomic and non-conducive environment will be examined. By using non-probability sampling, data were gathered from a total of 110 semesters 5 business students from 9 courses in the Faculty of Business and Management. The findings of this study revealed that internal challenges domain (time management, attitude, self-esteem) affect students the most in ODL. Consequently, the result of this study is hoped to help the education community prepare for a hybrid and flexible learning system as recently announced by the Malaysia Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE)

    Traffic police officers face many challenges in their line of duty to the protect the country and its citizens. Despite, the significance of traffic police officers to the community and the country, lack of studies specifically on how workload, reward system, and work-life balance affects job stress among traffic police officers are apparent. Job stress creates tension in the working environment, and this research aims to solve and find out what is the cause for job stress. The observational review was finished by utilizing a poll and questionnaires as a measuring instrument. The questionnaires were composed based on the literature review and have inquiries and things significant to the underlying research issues by using five-point Likert scale type questions. Survey data were gathered from questionnaires distributed to 300 respondents at a Traffic Police Office in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. A total of 100 returned questionnaires were used in statistical analysis. The results indicated that the relationship between work-life balance and job stress was significant while there were no significant relationships between workload, reward system, and job stress. The limitations of this study are addressed and suggestions for practitioners and future research were recommended

    In Malaysia, by 2030, depression has been predicted to be the number one disability and is expected to decrease workplace productivity. Deputy President of Malaysian Mental Health Association, Datuk Dr Andrew Mohanraj mentioned that depression is already dominated the Malaysian workforce and this issue has become a big problem to the country since it is difficult to identify because it has hidden symptoms. The author also made a comparison between employees and entrepreneurs in SME industry. Those entrepreneurs have more commitment to work as they had to work longer hours and tend to have more work-family conflict, compared to normal employees. So, it has been confirmed that those entrepreneurs in SME industry contributed to a large part of employee turnover, poor well-being and the reduction in job’s performance. This study was conducted to find out the impact of work-related stress on SME workers in Sungai Buloh. The objectives of the study are to identify the relationship between workload, job control, work relationships and work-related stress.     Employment among people with disabilities remains debatable. This paper investigates employers' points of view towards accepting technological assistance for employees with disabilities at the workplace. Specifically, this paper examines the effects of perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use on acceptance towards Office Assistance Application among employers to disabled employees. Acceptance towards any technology has been broadly tested using Davis' Technology Acceptance Model (TAM). To prove if that is the case or not for Office Assistance Applications within the context of employers to employees with disabilities, this research was undertaken to affirm the past research. Data was collected via online questionnaires from 35 employers to Micro Enterprises organization. 6 of surveyed employers were current employers to disabled workers, 18 employers affirmed interest to employ PWDs in the future with 9 employers asserted no interest to hire disabled workers. Data was analysed using Partial Least Square Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM). The result showed two hypotheses were supported evidencing positive and significant relationship between perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness, and relationship between perceived usefulness and technology acceptance. Findings are useful for employers to improve functions of their disabled workers at the workplace along with increasing employment prospects for people with disabilities

    The Influence of Online Classroom Games (OCG) on Undergraduates’ Academic Excellence: A Study in the Context of Hybrid Learning

    Hybrid learning has gained momentum globally, offering a viable alternative to traditional face-to-face education. As it involves combining traditional classroom instruction with online elements, hybrid learning has expanded possibilities for enriching education. Due to this fact, educators are constantly seeking innovative ways to engage students in the ever-evolving educational landscape. Hence, exploring diverse teaching tools beyond traditional methods is crucial. This concept paper explores the influence of Online Classroom Games (OCG) on the academic attainment of undergraduates, utilizing a qualitative approach to gather data. Initially, the interview transcripts will be gathered from 4 programs in the cluster of Business and Management faculty involving 16 participants. They will be carefully reviewed to identify recurring patterns. The findings of this study will offer empirically-based strategies to heighten student engagement and improve learning outcomes in the contemporary educational sphere. Ultimately, the outcomes of this research aspire to aid the educational community in readying itself for the hybrid and flexible learning system, as recently introduced by the Malaysia Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE)
