The anions and cations are linked through N—H⋯O hydrogen bonds while the anions are associated via O—H⋯O inter­actions, resulting in a layered structure. The ethyl group of the cation is disordered over twosites of occupancies 0.812 (14) and 0.188 (14). The hydroxy H atoms of the anions are equally disordered over two symmetry-related sites

In this paper, we present a novel and efficient quantum approach to securely compute the summation and multiplication of multiparty private inputs, respectively. Compared to classical solutions, our proposed approach can ensure the unconditional security and the perfect privacy protection based on the physical principle of quantum mechanics

    Atmospheric mercury inputs in montane soils increase with elevation: evidence from mercury isotope signatures

    The influence of topography on the biogeochemical cycle of mercury (Hg) has received relatively little attention. Here, we report the measurement of Hg species and their corresponding isotope composition in soil sampled along an elevational gradient transect on Mt. Leigong in subtropical southwestern China. The data are used to explain orography-related effects on the fate and behaviour of Hg species in montane environments. The total- and methyl-Hg concentrations in topsoil samples show a positive correlation with elevation. However, a negative elevation dependence was observed in the mass- ependent fractionation (MDF) and mass-independent fractionation (MIF) signatures of Hg isotopes. Both a MIF (D199Hg) binary mixing approach and the traditional inert element method indicate that the content of Hg derived from the atmosphere distinctly increases with altitude.publishedVersio

    Intermittent sliding-lock-knot suture for limbal conjunctival autograft fixation in pterygium surgery: a technique note

    AIM: To report a technique used with intermittent sliding-lock-knot (ISLK) fixation for limbal conjunctival autografts in pterygium surgery and compared with those of routine intermittent (RI) fixation. METHODS: Consecutive patients with primary pterygium who had undergone pterygium excision combined with limbal conjunctival autograft transplantation between March 2021 and March 2022 at our institute were retrospectively analyzed. Primary outcome measures were mean duration of surgery and suture removal, degree of conjunctival hyperemia on postoperative day 1, pain score at suture removal, postoperative symptoms at 6mo, including conjunctival hyperemia, foreign body sensation, and graft stability. RESULTS: Ninety-eight patients underwent monocular surgery and were divided into ISLK (51 eyes) and RI (47 eyes) groups according to the type of conjunctiva autograft fixation method planned. There was no significant difference in mean duration of surgery between the two groups (18.59±2.39min vs 18.15±2.20min, P=0.417); however, compared to the RI group, shorter suture removal times were observed in the ISLK group [0.58min (0.42-0.87) vs 3.00min (2.21-4.15), P<0.001]. The degree of conjunctival hyperemia on postoperative day 1 was milder in the ISLK group (P<0.001). Pain scores at suture removal were lower in the ISLK group than in RI group [1 (0-3) vs 2 (1-4), P<0.001]. Postoperative symptoms at 6mo were comparable between the groups (P=0.487), with no recurrence. CONCLUSION: ISLK is an innovative method for limbal conjunctival autograft fixation after pterygium excision. Compared to RI fixation, ISLK facilitates suture removal and reduces discomfort, with comparable surgery duration and less conjunctival hyperemia

    Heavy metal inducing contamination soil has become a serious concern. Contaminated soil can cause physiochemical and biochemical changes into soil and the plants. Thus, the plant growth and the yield were affected. In additionally, that ultimately leads to the problem of food security and human health. In recent years, many kinds of ways were used for the remediation of heavy metal contaminated soil, such as isolation, phytoremediation, immobilization, extraction, and soil washing. As a new carbon-rich material, biochar has been applied to the remediation of heavy metal pollution in soil. As biochar is rich with porous structure, high cation exchange capacity, pH value, and surface function, it has become an adsorbent for soil heavy metal remediation. While, with time, the capacity of biochar to immobilize the heavy metals may be modified as the sorption sites may get occupied with native soil organic matter or competing contaminant, etc. And that the physicochemical properties of biochar changed significantly during field aging. Thus, to clarify the mechanism of field-aged biochar for the remediation of heavy metal contaminated soil, we analysis, through an experimental case, the physicochemical property changes of field-aged biochar and its effects on the immobilization mechanism for heavy metal

    The Dust Attenuation Scaling Relation of Star-Forming Galaxies in the EAGLE Simulations

    Dust attenuation in star-forming galaxies (SFGs), as parameterized by the infrared excess (IRX LIR/LUV\equiv L_{\rm IR}/L_{\rm UV}), is found to be tightly correlated with star formation rate (SFR), metallicity and galaxy size, following a universal IRX relation up to z=3z=3. This scaling relation can provide a fundamental constraint for theoretical models to reconcile galaxy star formation, chemical enrichment, and structural evolution across cosmic time. We attempt to reproduce the universal IRX relation over 0.1z2.50.1\leq z\leq 2.5 using the EAGLE hydrodynamical simulations and examine sensitive parameters in determining galaxy dust attenuation. Our findings show that while the predicted universal IRX relation from EAGLE approximately aligns with observations at z0.5z\leq 0.5, noticeable disparities arise at different stellar masses and higher redshifts. Specifically, we investigate how modifying various galaxy parameters can affect the predicted universal IRX relation in comparison to the observed data. We demonstrate that the simulated gas-phase metallicity is the critical quantity for the shape of the predicted universal IRX relation. We find that the influence of the infrared luminosity and infrared excess is less important while galaxy size has virtually no significant effect. Overall, the EAGLE simulations are not able to replicate some of the observed characteristics between IRX and galaxy parameters of SFGs, emphasizing the need for further investigation and testing for our current state-of-the-art theoretical models.Comment: 19 pages, 15 figures, accepted for publication in MNRA

    Characterization of Structure and Antioxidant Activity of Polysaccharides From Sesame Seed Hull

    Sesame seed hull is the major by-product of sesame seed processing and is rich in polysaccharides. In this work, sesame hull polysaccharides (SHP) were extracted by ultrasound-assisted alkali extraction methods with a yield of 6.49%. Three purified polysaccharide fractions were obtained after decolorization, deproteinization, and column chromatography. Then, their main composition and antioxidant activity were investigated. The dominant fraction was SHP-2 with a yield of 3.78%. It was composed of galacturonic acid (51.3%), glucuronic acid (13.8%), rhamnose (8.9%), glucose (8.4%), and others. The linkage types of SHP-2 have the α-D-GalpA-(1,4)-linked, α-D-GlcpA-(1,2)-linked, β-T-D-Rhap-linked, β-D-Glcp-(1,6)-linked, β-T-D-Galp-linked, α-L-Xylp-(1,4)-linked, α-L-Araf-(1,3,5)-linked, and β-D-Manp-(1,4)-linked. This study might provide some useful basic data for developing applications for sesame seed hull polysaccharides in the food and pharmaceutical industries
