    Here we discuss the possibility of employment of ultrarelativistic electron and proton bunches for generation of high plasma wakefields in dense plasmas due to the Cherenkov resonance plasma-bunch interaction.     On the Static Dielectric Permittivity for Coulomb System in the Long Wavelength Limit

    On the basis of the exact relations the general formula for the static dielectric permittivity for Coulomb system is found in the region of small wave vectors. The obtained formula describes the dielectric function of the Coulomb system in both limits: in the "metallic" state and in the "dielectric" one. On this basis the determinations of the "apparent" dielectric and the "apparent" radius of screening are introduced. In the random phase approximation (RPA) the exact relations for the function dielectric function of the electron gas in the long-wavelength region of the wave vectors are found for an arbitrary degeneration of the particles.Comment: 5 pages, no figure

    The effect of an external harmonic signal on the characteristics of microwave generation in a nonrelativistic electron beam with virtual cathode (VC) formed in a static retarding electric field (low-voltage vircator system) has been experimentally studied. A significant increase in the vircator generation power is observed when the frequency of the external signal is close to the frequency of VC oscillations.     Mucin-poor mucinous tubular and spindle cell kidney cancer and clear cell renal cell carcinoma: a rare clinical case

    Mucinous tubular and spindle cell carcinoma of the kidney is a rare low-grade malignant tumour and accounts for less than 1% of all renal neoplasms. The classic morphological structure of the tumor is represented by three elements: spindle cells, ducts and myxoid or mucinous stroma. This tumor is indolent with a low risk of metastasis and a favorable outcome. However, cases with relapses, metastases to regional lymph nodes, and distant metastases, which were mainly characterised by high nuclear atypia, sarcomatoid transformation and other atypical morphological features are described in the literature. Several cases of mucin-poor and mucin-free mucinous tubular and spindle cell renal cell carcinoma have also been presented, making it difficult to differentiate from other renal cell carcinomas. There are reports of cases of mucin poor mucinous tubular and spindle cell carcinoma, which were accompanied by relapses and metastases. Thus, although the tumour is indolent, careful follow-up is necessary even after radical excision. In this article, we report a rare clinical case of combination of mucin-poor mucinous tubular and spindle cell carcinoma and clear cell renal cell carcinoma of the kidney in a 50-year-old man. The results of clinical and instrumental studies, as well as the morphological features of both tumors are presented. Due to the atypical morphological structure of mucinous tubular and spindle cell carcinoma, the final diagnosis was possible using an immunohistochemical method, which demonstrated the immunohistochemical profile characteristic of this tumour

    A pulse shape analysis algorithm and a method for suppressing the noise component of signals from a large copper proportional counter in the experiment aimed at searching for 2K capture of Kr-78 are described. These signals correspond to a compound event with different numbers of charge clusters due to from primary ionization is formed by these signals. A technique for separating single- and multipoint events and determining the charge in individual clusters is presented. Using the Daubechies wavelets in multiresolutional signal analysis, it is possible to increase the sensitivity and the resolution in extraction of multipoint events in the detector by a factor of 3-4.Comment: 10 pages, 8 figures. submitted to Instruments and Experimental Techniques; ISSN 0020/441
