Estimating interregional trade flows in Andalusia (Spain)

    Get PDF
Perhaps, one of the most relevant issues in constructing regional input-output tables is the estimation of interregional trade flows. Hence, the Regional Statistical Office of Andalusia (Spain) is promoting new research on survey-based estimates of trade flows between the own region and the rest of Spain. Especially, survey approach has been seen to result more reliable outcomes (Eding & Nijmeijer, 1998) than non-survey constructs. This paper will focus on survey design features, sample methods, treatment of sampling and non-sampling errors and others aspects concerning data collection and processing in the case of Andalusia (Spain).

Feasibility study for a new imaging neutral particle analyser in the asdex upgrade tokamak

Magnetically confined fusion plasmas are the prior candidate to achieve an operative fusion power plant. The confinement of fast-ions, i.e. supra-thermal ions, is of paramount importance towards the development of a fully operative fusion reactor. To this end, knowledge of the complete distribution of fast-ions along the plasma is necessary. During this bachelor thesis, a feasibility study for a new imaging neutral particle analyser (INPA) diagnostic at the ASDEX Upgrade tokamak was carried out. This detector is able to measure the energy and position of the fast-ion population with high resolution, contributing to the full understanding of its behaviour. In this work, the necessary codes to obtain the synthetic signal, starting from the FIDASIM results, have been developed and tested. A sensitivity study of the geometry of the diagnostic and its impact on the resulting signal was carried out. For the final diagnostic position, the radial and energy resolutions have been estimated and show that the diagnostic can provide high resolution, both in energy (less than 6 keV) and radius (2 cm as lower limit).Universidad de Sevilla. New analogue switch circuit having very low forward resistance

    Get PDF
A new circuit realisation for an analogue switch is reported. The main feature of the proposed design is the low value of the forward resistance as compared with commercial switches. Experimental data confirming the performance of the circuit are also included

STRATEGY-PROOF MECHANISMS WITH PRIVATE AND PUBLIC GOODS

    Get PDF
In this paper we develop a differentiable approach to deal with incentives in a, possibly small, subset of a general domain of preferences in economies with one public and one private good. We show that, for two agents, there is no social rule which is efficient, nondictatorial and strategy-proof. For the case of more agents the same result occurs when nondictatorship is replaced by Individual Rationality or by Envy-Freeness. A practical floating-gate Muller-C element using vMOS threshold gates

    Get PDF
This paper presents the rationale for vMOS-based realizations of digital circuits when logic design techniques based on threshold logic gates are used. Some practical problems in the vMOS implementation of threshold gates have been identified and solved. The feasibility and versatility of the proposed technique as well as its potential as a low-cost design technique for CMOS technologies have been shown by experimental results from a multiple-input Muller C-element. The proposed new realization exhibits better performance related to delay and area and power consumption than the traditional logic implementation

Switched-capacitor neural networks for linear programming

    Get PDF
A circuit for online solving of linear programming problems is presented. The circuit uses switched-capacitor techniques and is thus suitable for monolithic implementation. The connection of the proposed circuit to analogue neural networks is also outlined.Comisión Interministerial de Ciencia y Tecnología ME87-000

Chaos From Switched-Capacitor Circuits: Discrete Maps

    Get PDF
A special-purpose analog computer made of switched-capacitor circuits is presented for analyzing chaos and bifurcation phenomena in nonlinear discrete dynamical systems modeled by discrete maps *n + t = fan)-Experimental results are given for four switched-capacitor circuits described by well-known discrete maps; namely, the logistic map, the piecewise-linear unimodal (one-hump) map, the H é non map, and the Lozi map
