Energy and load curtailment based indices in probabilistic transient stability studies

    No full text
In this paper, stochastic models for both simultaneous and adaptive reclosing are presented and examined using a new set of probabilistic transient stability risk indices. The developed indices are based on load curtailments resulting from bus isolations and/or corrective actions to be taken to restore the system to a normal operating state. The developed stochastic models and the new probabilistic transient stability risk indices are utilized to evaluate the transient performance of a hypothetical test system. The effects of bus load uncertainty were also considered and demonstrated. The obtained results show that reclosing, especially adaptive reclosing, can improve the transient performance of a power system

    Reshoring v rámci EU

The global economy is going through a tremendous shift with the ongoing Covid-19 crisis building protectionist sentiments towards deglobalization. This paper analyzes the reshoring phenomenon within the European Union, considering its developments and implication. The report compares the cause and effects of reshoring and interprets its present state in the EU to describe the phenomenon. The study utilizes the results of past studies and monitors of reshoring in the EU, such as the European Manufacturing Survey and the Eurofond Reshoring Monitor, to draw conclusions. Also, the implications of year-over-year changes in Input tables are used to distinguish the presence of reshoring in Europe. The study presents an overall analysis of reshoring. The results are of a two-sided view that weighs the reality against the desires of protectionism during times of upheaval.

    Reliability evaluation of power systems

    No full text
The Second Edition of this well-received textbook presents over a decade of new research in power system reliability-while maintaining the general concept, structure, and style of the original volume. This edition features new chapters on the growing areas of Monte Carlo simulation and reliability economics. In addition, chapters cover the latest developments in techniques and their application to real problems. The text also explores the progress occurring in the structure, planning, and operation of real power systems due to changing ownership, regulation, and access. This work serves as a companion volume to Reliability Evaluation of Engineering Systems: Second Edition (1992)
