Certain local practitioner, traditional healers uses the decoction of the fruit of Combretum albidum G. Don in the treatment of diarrhoea and dysentery, stem barks used in jaundice. So the present study deals with preliminary phytochemical analysis of stem, leaf, flower and fruit using six different solvent. It needful helps for the scientific documentation and standardization of row plant material used in medicine and its worldwide acceptance.&nbsp

    A new look at the modified Coulomb potential in a strong magnetic field

    The static Coulomb potential of Quantum Electrodynamics (QED) is calculated in the presence of a strong magnetic field in the lowest Landau level (LLL) approximation using two different methods. First, the vacuum expectation value of the corresponding Wilson loop is calculated perturbatively in two different regimes of dynamical mass mdyn.m_{dyn.}, {\it i.e.}, q2mdyn.2eB|{\mathbf{q}}_{\|}^{2}|\ll m_{dyn.}^{2}\ll |eB| and mdyn.2q2eBm_{dyn.}^{2}\ll |\mathbf{q}_{\|}^{2}|\ll|eB|, where q\mathbf{q}_{\|} is the longitudinal components of the momentum relative to the external magnetic field BB. The result is then compared with the static potential arising from Born approximation. Both results coincide. Although the arising potentials show different behavior in the aforementioned regimes, a novel dependence on the angle θ\theta between the particle-antiparticle's axis and the direction of the magnetic field is observed. In the regime q2mdyn.2eB|{\mathbf{q}}_{\|}^{2}|\ll m_{dyn.}^{2}\ll |eB|, for strong enough magnetic field and depending on the angle θ\theta, a qualitative change occurs in the Coulomb-like potential; Whereas for θ=0,π\theta=0,\pi the potential is repulsive, it exhibits a minimum for angles θ]0,π[\theta\in]0,\pi[.Comment: V1: 26 pages, 8 figures, latex format, V2: Accepted for publication in PRD (2007

    Red Carbon Thin Film: A Carbon-Oxygen Semiconductor with Tunable Properties by Amine Vapors and Its Carbonization toward Carbon Thin Films

    The requirements for organic semiconductor materials and new methods for their synthesis at low temperature have risen over the last decades, especially due to concerns of sustainability. Herein, the synthesis of a carbon/oxygen molecular semiconductor thin film, which is promptly reactive toward amines, is presented. This allows for tuning the semiconductor properties and application as amine vapor sensors for a scope of analogous amines. The gas-to-solid phase reaction causes a significant change of the films’ optical properties, blue-shifting the absorption and the photoluminescence spectra from the red to the near UV spectral range. The irreversible chemical reaction between the thin film and the amine vapor is also exploited for the preparation of nitrogen-containing thin carbon films. The herein presented materials and methods will be of interest for gas sensing applications as well as for the development of tunable semiconductors and heteroatom-doped thin films

    Charmonium properties in deconfinement phase in anisotropic lattice QCD

    J/Psi and eta_c above the QCD critical temperature T_c are studied in anisotropic quenched lattice QCD, considering whether the c\bar c systems above T_c are spatially compact (quasi-)bound states or scattering states. We adopt the standard Wilson gauge action and O(a)-improved Wilson quark action with renormalized anisotropy a_s/a_t =4.0 at \beta=6.10 on 16^3\times (14-26) lattices, which correspond to the spatial lattice volume V\equiv L^3\simeq(1.55{\rm fm})^3 and temperatures T\simeq(1.11-2.07)T_c. We investigate the c\bar c system above T_c from the temporal correlators with spatially-extended operators, where the overlap with the ground state is enhanced. To clarify whether compact charmonia survive in the deconfinement phase, we investigate spatial boundary-condition dependence of the energy of c\bar c systems above T_c. In fact, for low-lying S-wave c \bar c scattering states, it is expected that there appears a significant energy difference \Delta E \equiv E{\rm (APBC)}-E{\rm (PBC)}\simeq2\sqrt{m_c^2+3\pi^2/L^2}-2m_c (m_c: charm quark mass) between periodic and anti-periodic boundary conditions on the finite-volume lattice. In contrast, for compact charmonia, there is no significant energy difference between periodic and anti-periodic boundary conditions. As a lattice QCD result, almost no spatial boundary-condition dependence is observed for the energy of the c\bar c system in J/\Psi and \eta_c channels for T\simeq(1.11-2.07)T_c. This fact indicates that J/\Psi and \eta_c would survive as spatially compact c\bar c (quasi-)bound states below 2T_c. We also investigate a PP-wave channel at high temperature with maximally entropy method (MEM) and find no low-lying peak structure corresponding to \chi_{c1} at 1.62T_c.Comment: 13 pages, 11 figure
