The Shifting Border of Food Perceptions and Cultural Identity in Maghrebi Muslim Migrants
Inrecent decades, Italy has become a point of entry to the EU and, for manymigrants from the Southern shores of the Mediterranean, a final destination (IOMReport, 2011). As massive inflows have often caused emergencies, the pressingneeds of these populations in the areas of housing, healthcare, education, etc.have been examined and addressed (data: Regional Authority and Milan DioceseObservatories). Realizing that the cultural implications in the area of food, had not been systematically studied thus far, the author developed a three-yearproject, focusing on northwest African Muslim migrants and the change in theirperception of food, particularly in light of the strong religious implicationsthat food has historically had to Arab populations. After reviewing the keytraits of Arab-Berber food history, their translation into contemporary life inthe countries of origin and destination was investigated, through interviewswith, primarily, cultural mediators, as well as anthropologists, food experts, food chain professionals, and the migrants themselves. The overall researchdelves into the migrants’ views of food back in Northern Africa and Maghrebiand other food in Italy, with an emphasis on ideas of purity and identity (inculinary practices, ingredients, celebrations, table manners, the restaurantsystem and distribution)

Teachers and burnout: Biodanza SRT as embodiment training in the development of emotional skills and soft skills
The exposure to high stress conditions has led to an increasing prevalence of Burnout among teachers; this is due to emotional exhaustion, depersonalization and reduced personal accomplishment. Soft Skills play an important role in working performance, representing the set of emotional skills capable of promoting personal well-being. Giving priority to emotional support enables the development of protective factors and positive skills to counteract work-related stress and the onset of Burnout. Biodanza SRT is a body-mediated system that, through an Embodiment Training, promotes the development of personal empowerment by strengthening emotional skills, Soft Skills and the acquisition of Best Practices making individuals able, capable and competent in the personal management of tools and strategies to improve their emotional, affective, relational, social and professional life
Youth deviance in group and prevention in educational-training contexts: Biodanza SRT as a strategy for the development of personal skills and talents
Youth deviance in Italy is a phenomenon that is involving an ever-increasing number of young people and, unfortunately, is contributing strongly to crime, with a corresponding increase in frequent recidivism. It is urgent to undertake actions aimed at prevention through effective intervention proposals reflecting a high educational value and a transformative value of deviant behaviour and social maladaptation, aimed at the development of psycho-social and crossmodal (body-emotional-empathetic-cognitive-relational) skills useful to counter the onset of criminal behaviour. Being a valid educational-training strategy to be implemented in compulsory schools, though actively involving experiences, Biodanza SRT focuses body and corporeity as paths of knowledge, restoring human dignity, positive identification, empowerment, consciousness, talent enhancement and awareness of oneself, of one's own abilities and skills
“Without social there is no health”: Social work perspectives in multidisciplinary healthcare
The pandemic has not just affected the health sphere: strong social effects of the emergency have added to the health risk, stressing on social relations and the deterioration of people’s living conditions, and making those who are already fragile more fragile. Notwithstanding, during the emergency following the COVID-19 pandemic the attention was focused, indeed understandably, on the health aspects, widening the already existing misalignment between the health interventions and the social ones. Emergency oriented efforts and resources more toward a clinical care approach (cure) than toward support for the social and the inclusion aspects (care). Reflecting on the specific area of health care that interacts with social care (and vice versa), shows how the medicalization in managing the emergency have undermined or, at least, weakened the global approach to the person and to vulnerability profiles that should inspire the socio-healthcare integration. The aim of this review is describing the relationship between the health and social systems and the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on it: a review of studies on the role played by social work in the health sector before and during COVID-19 pandemic emergency shows how much potential there is still to be developed for social work in the health sector that acts together with the personal health services; a care that looks at the person within his or her relationships, community resources and environmental aspects requires an investment toward integration between hospital care, social services and local communities
