Geomagnetic Survey Interpolation with the Machine Learning Approach

This paper portrays the method of UAV magnetometry survey data interpolation. The method accommodates the fact that this kind of data has a spatial distribution of the samples along a series of straight lines (similar to maritime tacks), which is a prominent characteristic of many kinds of UAV surveys. The interpolation relies on the very basic Nearest Neighbours algorithm, although augmented with a Machine Learning approach. Such an approach enables the error of less than 5 percent by intelligently adjusting the Nearest Neighbour algorithm parameters. The method was pilot tested on geomagnetic data with Borok Geomagnetic Observatory UAV aeromagnetic survey data

DMNP, a Synthetic Analog of Erogorgiaene, Inhibits the ppGpp Synthetase Activity of the Small Alarmone Synthetase RelZ

Suppression of the stringent response is a promising strategy for the treatment of persistent bacterial infections. A novel class of compounds having a mechanism of action based on alarmone synthetase inhibition and suppressing the synthesis of (p)ppGpp alarmones in bacteria may provide a more effective treatment for latent infections and resolve problems associated with bacterial persistence. Conventional antibiotics primarily act on actively growing bacteria, but they are inactive against persister cells with a slowed metabolism. Alarmone synthetase inhibitors have antipersister properties that may enhance conventional antibiotics’ antibacterial action. Two groups of RSH proteins are responsible for the synthesis of alarmones: long RelA/SpoT homologs and small alarmone synthetases. Many species of bacteria possess both types of enzymes. Despite the fact that a number of inhibitors of bifunctional long synthetases/hydrolases have been described to date, their properties with respect to monofunctional small alarmone synthetases have been studied poorly. This study investigated the effect of the alarmone synthetase inhibitor DMNP on the purified RelZ small alarmone synthetase protein from Mycolicibacterium smegmatis

Lie symmetries of nonlinear boundary value problems

Nonlinear boundary value problems (BVPs) by means of the classical Lie symmetry method are studied. A new definition of Lie invariance for BVPs is proposed by the generalization of existing those on much wider class of BVPs. A class of two-dimensional nonlinear boundary value problems, modeling the process of melting and evaporation of metals, is studied in details. Using the definition proposed, all possible Lie symmetries and the relevant reductions (with physical meaning) to BVPs for ordinary differential equations are constructed. An example how to construct exact solution of the problem with correctly-specified coefficients is presented and compared with the results of numerical simulations published earlier.Comment: Published versio

Modern Trends of the Development of Primary School-Aged Children (Literature Review)

The beginning of children’s school education is a potential risk of morphofunctional and psycho-physiological disorders in the body because of the significant reduction in daily physical activity, the change in day regimen, emotional and intellectual stress, which are often inadequate for the age-related psycho-physiological capabilities of schoolchildren. In this paper, we analyzed the literature on the development of modern children of primary school age according to the results of the assessment of morphological, functional and mental indicators. The identification of a general trend in the development of primary school-aged children is necessary for determination and development of health-saving programs to implement in the system of modern education. A review of data on the development of younger school children over the past 20 years shows an increase in the number of children with digressions in physical development, deterioration in physical fitness, delay of biological age from actual age, stress of the cardiovascular system, decrease in lung capacity and muscle strength. This pattern is manifested regardless of the region of residence and the nationality of children. There is an increase in the number of children with learning difficulties. Among the reasons for these changes, researchers highlight the complexity of the educational program, physical inactivity, the delay of physical development and, at the same time, medical and social successes of the state, allowing preserving the life of newborns even with somatic and neurological abnormalities. In connection with the identified trend of development of modern primary school children, the measures are needed to optimize children’s learning activities by the following criteria: level of physical activity, intensity of intellectual loads, rest mode

Generalized conditional symmetries of evolution equations

    Get PDF
We analyze the relationship of generalized conditional symmetries of evolution equations to the formal compatibility and passivity of systems of differential equations as well as to systems of vector fields in involution. Earlier results on the connection between generalized conditional invariance and generalized reduction of evolution equations are revisited. This leads to a no-go theorem on determining equations for operators of generalized conditional symmetry. It is also shown that up to certain equivalences there exists a one-to-one correspondence between generalized conditional symmetries of an evolution equation and parametric families of its solutions.Comment: 23 pages, extended versio
