Purpose. Our goal in compiling this review was to provide the reader with the comprehensive data on the receptor profile and the spectrum of pharmacological activity of piribedil (which was historically the first non-ergoline agonist D2 and D3 subtypes of dopamine receptors). Then we will discuss the putative mechanisms of its therapeutic effect, the indications for its use in psychiatry and addiction medicine (i.e., beyond its original indication in neurology, which was the treatment of Parkinsonβs disease), and present to the reader the existing evidence base for its use in various mental and substance use disorders.Methodology. We have searched and reviewed the available scientific data on piribedil in search engines and databases PubMed, Google Scholar, Science Direct, Ki Database, with the use of corresponding keywords.Results. The data we have found in the process of compilation of this review indicate that, in addition to its well-known antiparkinsonian properties, piribedil may also have antidementic, pro-cognitive (nootropic), anti-amnestic, antidepressant, anxiolytic, analgesic, and vasodilating properties. The vasodilating effect of piribedil is most evident in small cerebral vessels. Piribedil also can reduce the secretion of prolactin and several other stress hormones. These properties of piribedil can determine its effectiveness as a part of the combination therapy in various forms of dementia, in mild to moderate cognitive impairment, in depressive and anxiety disorders, in attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, in somatoform and other chronic pain disorders, in depersonalization-derealization syndrome, and also as a corrector for side effects the effects of antipsychotics and as a measure to reduce negative symptoms in the treatment of schizophrenia and schizophrenia spectrum disorders.Practical implications. Innovation development in Russia: the value aspect
The article examines the problems of the transition of modern Russia towards the formation of an innovative economy, with a special emphasis on the investigation of the key challenges that Russian universities face while training engineers equipped for innovative activities. The paper considers the impact of cultural characteristics of the Russian society on the organization and content of an education process in a technical university, on βproducingβ engineers capable of developing innovation. In our analysis we use a comparative approach, as well as the outcomes of the etnometric studies based on the method by G. Hofstede. The study presents the comparative analysis of the organization and content of engineering training at two universities representing Russia and the United States. The results of the study show that further productive development of the Russian system of engineering education towards integration with Western systems is possible provided that the value orientation of the Russian state and society is significantly revised

ΠΈΠ°ΡΡΠΈΡΠ΅ΡΠΊΠΎΠΉ ΠΏΡΠ°ΠΊΡΠΈΠΊΠ΅.Purpose: To provide the reader with a detailed overview of the prevalence of affective and anxiety disorders in coloproctology, as well as prevalence of comorbid coloproctology diseases in psychiatry (like constipation in depression), to present modern hypotheses about mechanisms of such bidirectional connection, and to describe how psychotropic medications can be useful in coloproctology and how traditional coloproctology drugs and treatment methods (probiotics, aminosalicylates, anticytokines, fecal microbiota transplantation) can be useful in psychiatry.Methodology: We have searched the PubMed and Google Scholar search engines for relevant terms to find articles on the link of the coloproctology diseases with depressive and anxiety states and vice versa. Then we have searched PubMed and Google Scholar for literature on antidepressants in coloproctology and on probiotics, anticytokines, fecal microbiota transplantation and antiinflammatory agents in psychiatry.Results: The data obtained by us indicate a close two-way link between depressive and anxiety states and a number of coloproctologic diseases, and with the function of the large intestine in general. The results also indicate a great potential for antidepressants in coloproctology and for probiotics and anticytokines and fecal microbiota transplantation in psychiatry. There is also a great need to improve diagnostics and treatment of comorbidity in both directions: comorbid coloproctology diseases in psychiatry and comorbid depressive and anxiety disorders in coloproctology.Practical implications: The data obtained by us deserve the widest application both in coloproctology and in psychiatry

Purpose. In this part of the article we aim to show the actuality of the problem of migraine comorbidity with anxiety and depressive states. To highlight the relevance of developing adjuvant or alternative (including phytotherapeutic) methods of treating these diseases, especially in patients who refuse standard pharmacotherapy, who poorly tolerate it or who do not get a sufficient relief of symptoms from it. To present to the reader a historical overview of the attempts undertaken by mankind since ancient times to treat these diseases with the help of herbal medicine, including use of various so-called Β«balsamsΒ», and in particular the historical Β«Balsam KuntzeΒ» or the modern Β«Riga Black BalsamΒ».Methodology. To obtain the data on the prevalence of migraines, depression and anxiety, on the frequency of their comorbidity and on the frequency of the problem of their resistance to standard treatment or its intolerance, we turned to an official statistics from the World Health Organization. Then we described historical data which convincingly shows that the Russian empress Catherine The Great suffered from migraine attacks that were systematically complicated by a depressive or dysphoric prodrome and postdrome. We also described how, according to the legend, after receiving orally a mixture called Β«Balsam KuntzeΒ», the Empress was allegedly cured of all her symptoms. Then we presented historical data that both migraine and depressive and anxiety states were all well known to mankind since ancient times. We also show that from ancient times, the humankind has made various attempts to treat them. Such attempts often included using water-alcohol tinctures of medicinal plants, so-called Β«balsamsΒ». After that, we described the history of Riga Black Balsam and how its recipe was changed over time.Results. The data we have obtained during the compilation of this review indicate the great actuality of the problem of migraine comorbidity with depressive and anxious states. These data also highlight the high relevance of the problem of resistance to standard treatment or its poor tolerance in these diseases. This, in turn, means that the task of developing adjuvant or alternative treatment methods for these diseases, including phytotherapeutic ones, is also highly relevant. In the next part of the article, we will present an interesting approach to this task, namely β a modern study of the pharmacological activity of some natural components of both the historical Β«Balsam KuntzeΒ» and the contemporary Β«Riga Black BalsamΒ».Practical implications. Our results deserve widespread use in pharmacology, psychiatry and neurology. As we will show in the next part of this article, our results can be used to develop modern phytotherapeutic agents or combinations of agents that might prove useful as adjuvant or alternative treatments for migraines, depressive and anxiety states, some chronic pain syndromes. Purpose. To make a thorough historical review about the use of sulfozine therapy in Soviet, post-Soviet and Western psychiatry, and to show both its repressive and disciplinary use and its therapeutic utility, to reach an objective conclusion on its use and value, and to present two treatment-resistant clinical cases in which remission was obtained only after sulfozine use, while all other biological methods tried, together with standard psychopharmacotherapy, have failed in these cases.Methodology. We have performed a deep historical literature search in the libraries of Tel-Aviv University, Medical Faculty, and Stavropol State Medical University, and in PubMed. The data we have found regarding sulfozine use, both repressive and therapeutic, are then presented there. Together with such historical data, we also present and describe two clinical cases we have met in our practice.Results. Results we have obtained by this historical review and review of the cases presented, definitely show that pyrotherapy (including sulfozine therapy) wasnβt just an unscientific, cruel and exclusively repressive or disciplinary method of therapy, but also was - and perhaps still can be - an useful therapeutic method of overcoming treatment resistance.Practical implications. .Purpose. To make a thorough historical review about the use of pyrotherapy with bacterial LPS (including Pyrogenal) in Soviet, post-Soviet and Western psychiatry, and to show its therapeutic utility, to reach an objective conclusion on its use and value, and to present two treatment-resistant clinical cases in which remission was obtained only after Pyrogenal use, while all other biological methods tried, together with standard psychopharmacotherapy, have failed in these cases.Methodology. We have performed a deep historical literature search in the libraries of Tel-Aviv University, Medical Faculty, and Stavropol State Medical University, and in PubMed. The data we have found regarding Pyrogenal and bacterial LPS therapeutic use, are then presented there. Together with such historical data, we also present and describe two clinical cases we have met in our practice.Results. Results we have obtained by this historical review and review of the cases presented, definitely show that pyrotherapy (including therapy with bacterial LPS and Pyrogenal in particular) is still an useful therapeutic method of overcoming treatment resistance.Practical implications. Our results can be applied in psychiatry, substance use medicine and neurology, especially in treatment-resistant subpopulations

.Purpose: To give the reader a detailed historical overview of the application of spicy and aromatic herbs in the field of psychiatry and neurology, as well as modern data from clinical and preclinical studies on their effectiveness in the therapy of various mental and psychosomatic pathologies, and neurodegenerative diseases.Methodology: As an initial starting point for our work, we took a list of all the spices and aromatic herbs used in culinary of various nations from English Wikipedia, as it is one of the most complete of such lists on the Internet (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_spices). We then examined the current evidence base and historical data on the use of each of the listed plants using the PubMed, Google Scholar, Science Direct, Web of Science search engines, and presented our findings in this review.Results: The data we have presented in this review clearly shows that there is a significant therapeutic potential for many spicy and aromatic herbs in both psychiatry and neurology, especially in the treatment of mild anxiety and depressive disorders, mild cognitive impairment, and in the treatment of psychosomatic diseases such as irritable bowel syndrome, migraine, premenstrual tension syndrome, climacteric disorders. The evidence base for use in psychiatry and neurology of different spicy and aromatic herbs is very different in quality. For some spicy and aromatic herbs and biologically active substances extracted from them, only animal data, combined with empirical experience of traditional medicine, exist for the time being, for others - there are preliminary encouraging results of open pilot studies on humans, for others, such as curcumin, safranal β there are positive results from small randomized clinical trials. It is important, however, that the study of the psychotropic and neurotropic potential of spicy and aromatic herbs, judging by the number of publications in recent years (2013β2017), is considered as one of the promising directions for the search for new antidepressants, anxiolytics and anti-dementia drugs.Practical implications: The results that we have presented in this review, give theoretical and practical reasons for the use of extracts from some spicy and aromatic herbs, such as curcumin, safranal, piperine, lavender essential oil, in the treatment of mild forms of anxious and depressive states, mild cognitive impairment, especially in patients who refuse traditional psychopharmacotherapy, or for those who are totally unable to tolerate traditional psychopharmacotherapy or poorly tolerate it

ΠΈΠ°ΡΡΠΈΠΈ.Purpose:Β To present the reader with thorough historical overview of chemically induced (by the use of camphor, cardiazole or triazole) seizures as predecessors of modern electroconvulsive therapy (ECT), the history of the discovery of this method, the mechanisms of its therapeutic effect, its comparative efficacy and safety in comparison with ECT, the cause of its dismissal in the favor of ECT, and remind the reader of the uniquely high effectiveness of ECT in the treatment of depression and catatonia, unsurpassed until now.Methodology:Β We have performed a thorough search for historical literature on the therapeutic use of chemically induced seizures with the use of PubMed, Google Scholar, Science Direct and Web of Science, as well as bibliographic lists in Wikipedia articles and monographs on ECT. The sources we found were processed, summarized and presented in this review.Results:Β The literature data obtained as a result of the present review show that chemically induced seizures did indeed have a curative effect in a number of mental disorders (in particular, depression, mania and mixed states, schizophrenia, catatonia), with the efficacy and safety comparable to the unmodified ECT, together with lower potential for causing cognitive impairment. Chemically induced seizures not only served as a predecessor to the invention of ECT, but also allowed to eliminate the therapeutic nihilism that existed before the beginning of the 20th century with regard to the possibilities of treating mental illnesses, which created the prerequisites for the further development of research in this field and for the subsequent emergence of psychopharmacotherapy. Moreover, the very idea of chemical induction of therapeutic seizures with the use of safer agents and in a modified form (with premedication, general anesthesia, muscle relaxants and artificial ventilation of the lungs) retains its attractiveness even today.Scope:Β The results of our review indicate the high therapeutic potential of modern modified ECT, as the modern successor of the camphor and cardiazole / triazole convulsive therapy, in the treatment of severe and resistant forms of mental illness, and that modern modified ECT deserves a much wider application in psychiatry
RUSSIAN GRAIN FROM SIBERIA: EXPORT POTENTIAL, PRIORITY SALES MARKETS
The study identifies the possibilities of the grain complex of Siberia to supply grain for export. The role of the state and the main regulatory documents of the federal and regional levels, aimed at the development of the grain market and its export from Siberia, have been determined. Using data from the Federal Customs Service of Russia, an analysis of grain exports by regions of Siberia and grain crops for 2017-2019 was carried out. The factors hindering the export of Siberian grain have been warned. The study presents a forecast of grain exports by the regions of Siberia until 2025, as well as its promising directions and priority sales markets. To identify trends in the development of grain exports, the main commodity groups (wheat, rye, barley, oats, buckwheat) were considered. Priority sales markets have been identified, to which supplies should be increased, while solving transport and logistics problems, overcoming tariff and non-tariff barriers
