    Di sekolah-sekolah kebanyakan guru yang lebih aktif daripada siswa, padaha! aktivitas belajar siswa berhubungan dengan hasil belajarnya, dapat membuat siswa lebih kreatif dan dapat mengingat materi lebih lama. Untuk itu perlu dicari metode pembelajaran yang lebih mengaktifkan siswa belajar. Metode IMPROVE merupakan metode yang di dalamnya memberikan kesempatan kepada siswa untuk lebih aktif belajar dan lebih memberikan kesempatan kepada siswa untuk berkomunikasi matematik. Dengan demikian penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menelaah apakah pemahaman matematik dan kemampuan komunikasi matematik siswa yang menggunakan metode IMPROVE lebih baik daripada yang menggunakan cara biasa. Untuk mengarah kepada tujuan yang ingin dicapai tersebut penelitian ini menelaah : (a) pemahaman matematik siswa sebelum dan sesudah pembelajaran dengan metode IMPROVE dan cara biasa; (b) kemampuan komunikasi matematik siswa sebelum dan sesudah pembelajaran dengan metode IMPROVE dan cara biasa; (c) kaitan (assosiasi) antara pemahaman matematik siswa yang menggunakan metode IMPROVE dan cara biasa; (d) aktivitas siswa selama pembelajaran berlangsung;(e)sikap siswa terhadap pembelajaran dengan metode IMPROVE; (0 kesulitan-kesulitan yang ditemui selama penerapan pembelajaran dengan metode IMPROVE. Penelitian ini merupakan studi eksperimen di SLTP Negeri I Cimahi dengan disain penelitian Pre-test Post test Control Group design. Subjek Populasi seluruh siswa SLTP dengan mengambil sampel 2 kelas II SLTP Negeri I Cimahi secara acak dari kelas paralci yang tersedia. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan cara ; (1) memberikan tes pemahaman matematik dan komunikasi matematik pada pokok bahasan relasi,pemetaan dan grafik, kuadrat dan akar kuadrat suatu bilangan, serta teorema pythagoras; (2) memberikan angket skala sikap kepada siswa; (3) mengobservasi aktivitas belajar siswa.Untuk melihat adanya perbedaan pemahaman matematik dan kemampuan komunikasi matematik antara kelompok eksperimen dan kelompok kontrol digunakan uji t pada a =0,05 setelah prasyarat pengujian terpenuhi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan: (a) pemahaman matematik siswa yang pembelajarannya menggunakan metode IMPROVE lebih baik daripada yang menggunakan cara biasa; (b) kemampuan komunikasi matematik siswa yang pembelajarannya menggunakan metode IMPROVE lebih baik daripada yang menggunakan cara biasa; (c)Terdapat kaitan (asosiasi) yang cukup antara pemahaman matematik dan kemampuan komunikasi matematik kelas eksperimen, sedangkan pada kelas kontrol data tidak mendukung adanya kaitan (asosiasi) antara pemahaman matematik dan kemampuan komunikasi matematik; (d) siswa yang pembelajarannya dengan menggunakan metode IMPROVE lebih aktif daripada yang menggunakan cara biasa; (e) sikap siswa terhadap pembelajaran dengan metode IMPROVE secara keseluruhan positif

    THE INFLUENCE OF LEARNING INTEREST ON THE WRITING SKILLS OF PROCEDURE TEXTS FOR GRADE XI

    AbstractThis study aims to prove whether there is an influence of learning interest on the ability to write procedural texts. The hypothesis tested is that there is an influence of interest in learning Bahasa Indonesia on the ability to write procedural texts. This study uses a quantitative description method because the research data is in the form of numbers, analyzed using statistics and describes the relationship between variables. The number of samples was 62 students of class XI SMK PP Negeri Sumedang. The instruments used in this research are test and non-test. The test instrument is in the form of a procedure text writing skill test result. Meanwhile, the non-test instrument was in the form of a questionnaire containing 20 indicators of interest including attention, enthusiasm, great desire, and interest in learning bahasa Indonesia. The results of the correlation analysis is 0.689, it indicates that there is a strong relationship between the interest in learning Bahasa Indonesia and the ability to write procedural texts. The regression value (r) square is 0.839, it indicates the influence of the independent variable on the dependent variable. Test the significance or significance of the regression coefficient obtained sig. 0.000 < 0.05 and tcount = 17.665. There is a significant effect of interest in learning bahasa Indonesia on the ability to write procedural texts

    IMPROVING MATHEMATICAL UNDERSTANDING AND COMMUNICATION SKILLS AND STUDENTS’ LEARNING SELF-RELIANCE IN JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL USING CONTEXTUAL APPROACH

    This research is purposed to see the effect of a Contextual Approach in improving not only students’ understanding and communication ability but also their self-reliance in learning mathematics. The method used in this research is quasi-experiment with non-equivalent control group design. This research has been carried out at one junior high school in Cianjur with all of its ninth classes as the population. Out of these classes, two classes are taken as the samples, namely the experimental class and the control class. The Instrument used in this research is a set of tests to evaluate the students’ mathematical communication and understanding skills which have been tested beforehand. The data are obtained through the exposure of these mathematical understanding and communication skills tests. In processing the data, t-test, two-lane ANOVA, and regression have been administered. The result of the research shows that the students' mathematical understanding and communication in experiment class have improved and are better than the control class. The result has also shown that there is not any relationship between mathematical understanding skill and learning self-reliance. However, the result shows that there is a correlation between mathematical communication skill and learning self-reliance

    Penelitian ini merupakan eksperimen dengan disain kontrol hanya postes. Subyek populasinya seluruh siswa Sekolah Menengah Pertama di Kota Cimahi. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik stratified sampling. Dan level sekolah tinggi, sedang dan kurang, masing-masing dipilih saiu sekolah secara acakr dan djpilih sampel kelas V1JI dengan purposive sampling. Kemudian, dari kelas VII] pada level sekolah tinggi: sedang dan kurang, masing-masing diambil dua kelas secara acak. Kelas eksperimen mendapal pembelajaran dengan pendekatan eksplorasi dan kelas kontrol mendapat pembelajaran dengan cara biasa. Sampel yang terlibat sebanyak 234 orang siswa. Instrumen yang digunakan meliputi soal tes pengetahuan awal matematika. kemampuan berpikir kritis matematik dan kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematik! Analisis data menggunakan ANOVA dua jalur. dilanjutkan dengan uji SchefTe. Untuk mengetahui kekeliruan dan kesalahan siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal. dilakukan analisis terhadap pekerjaan siswa. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data! diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa: (I) Siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran melalui pendekatan eksplorasi memiliki kemampuan berpikir kritis dan kreatif lebih baik daripada siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran dengan cara biasa (a= 5%); (2) Faktor Tingkat Kemampuan Awal Siswa (TKAS) memiliki peran yang paling besar dalam pencapaian kemampuan berpikir kritis dan kreatif matematik siswa dibanding faktor pendekatan pembelajaran dan level sekolah: (3) Terdapat asosiasi yang signiflkan antara kualifikasi kemampuan berpikir kritis dan kreatif matematik siswa dan asosiasinya termasuk kategori cukup.     This study aims to determine the ability of mathematical representation of the level of basic ability of students in the rectangular material. The research method used is descriptive. The subject of the research is VII grade SMPN in Karawang. The results of the data analysis showed that the students' upper ability level with the percentage of 83%, had high visual representation ability, medium symbol representation ability, medium verbal representation ability.     As an efficient distributed renewable energy utilization model, a microgrid is predictable to realize the higher incorporation of the industrial cyber-physical system (CPS) that has gained significant interest in the academia and industry fields. Electric grid is now facing exceptional variations in generation and load as rising number of distributed energy resources (DERs), typically interfaced via power electronics converter, have been positioned, which possess multifaceted technical problems. In the context of electric grid, Blockchain (BC) was primarily developed for peer-to-peer energy trading through cryptocurrency. This paper presents a deep learning based predictive model for automated control analysis (DLBPM-ACS) in BC assisted industrial CPS environment. The presented DLBPM-ACS technique aims to forecast the short-term energy requirement for reducing the delivery cost of electrical energy for consumers. In addition, the presented DLBPM-ACS technique employs BC for effective energy utilization monitoring and trading control. Moreover, the presented DLBPM-ACS technique employs deep belief network (DBN) model for energy prediction process. Furthermore, the artificial ecosystem optimizer (AEO) algorithm is applied for optimal tuning of the hyperparameters related to the DBN approach. A wide range of simulations was conducted and the outcomes demonstrate the better outcomes of the DLBPM-ACS technique

    APPLICATION OF A REALISTIC APPROACH TO IMPROVE THE ABILITY OF MATHEMATICAL PROBLEM SOLVING AND SELF REGULATED LEARNING OF JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS

    This study is a quasi-experimental research, which aims to examine the achievement and improvement of problem-solving skills of mathematics and the independence of junior high school students learning through a realistic approach. The population in this study is all students of class VIII SMPN 4 Subang. Samples were taken by random class, obtained two classes of class VIII H as the experimental class and VIII.F as control class. The instrument in this study is a set of mathematical problem-solving test and a set of learning independence scales. The study found that the achievement and improvement of students' mathematical problem-solving ability and the independence of student learning whose learning using realistic learning are better than that of learning using ordinary learning in terms of the initial ability level of students. There is an interaction of mathematical problem-solving abilities between students whose learning uses a realistic approach with a student's initial ability level. Meanwhile, there is no interaction between realistic learning with the level of initial ability of students in generating student self-reliance. Besides, there is no association between mathematical problem solving ability and student learning independence, both in class that use realistic and classroom learning using ordinary learning. The picture of student's performance during realistic learning is more active, it shows the involvement of students both individually and in collaboration with the group, so that it can improve the problem solving ability of mathematics as well as student's learning independence.
