All over the world there are more vegetarians than in previous years due to many reasons. One of them is positive influence on health what is shown in the latest research. The aim of the article is to review the influence of vegetarian diet on frequent diseases such as: hypertension, obesity, osteoporosis. An analysis of scientific papers from Pubmed and Google Scholar was performed, which most accurately described the issue of impact vegetarian diet on human health. The following keywords have been used in the search:Vegetarian, hypertension, obesity, osteoporosis:vegetarian, hypertension, obesity, osteoporosis. The researchers shown than vegetarians have lover systolic blood pressure  and diastolic blood pressure by 10 and 5 mmHg, they also lower overall mortality by 10-15%, risk of heart failure and by ~40%,  stroke by~35% and coronary events by 20%. Vegetarians also have statistically  lower body mass index. What’s more in this diet is more energy efficient thanks too low food energy density and helps keeping leptin on adequate level. Research has shown than vegetarians have lower mineral bone density than non-vegetarian, although some studies has shown that  risk of fractures in vegetarians and non-vegetarians was not affected by diet alternation. Based on the results of the studies above vegetarian diet contributes to lower blood pressure and preventing from cardiovascular diseases. It helps to avoid obesity and  to get rid of weights also doesn’t have negative impact on osteoporosis

SummaryA decision to start radiotherapy should be based on at least two documents:1.Written standards of obligatory clinical procedures which are in fact radiotherapeutic schemes.2.Therapeutic protocols describing all mandatory procedures performed to ensure a safe and proper treatment of the patient. The range of activities described in the therapeutic protocol is very wide.It includes all initial procedures implemented in the simulation room, the CT scanner, in the treatment planning system and the mould- room, and it describes the verification process of the treatment plan, mandatory to start radiotherapy. The therapeutic protocol describes in details what and how should be checked by an internal control system and it qualifies the demands required to sum up the treatment and its’ accordance with the planned radiotherapy scheme. All the activities performed are recorded in a QA protocol, which is an integral part of the therapeutic protocol. In this paper we present the therapeutic protocol in force in the Regional Oncological Hospital in Szczecin and the QA and in-vivo protocols, which assure safe radiotherapy of the patient

BackgroundEndometriosis occurring in surgical scars is a well-described entity. Malignant transformation of endometriosis is a rare event, with most cases belonging to adenocarcinoma. The initial surgical treatment is a method of choice. Due to lack of therapeutic recommendations, adjuvant therapy and recurrence management are a great challenge for oncologists.AimThe aim of this paper was to present a long-term survival as the outcome of multimodal therapy in the patient with recurrent adenocarcinoma arising from Caesarean section scar endometriosis.CaseWe present the case of a woman with recurrent adenocarcinoma arising from Caesarean section scar endometriosis. The disease was first diagnosed in September 1997 at age 43. The patient underwent abdominal hysterectomy with tumour excision. Due to a local recurrence after 4 years, tumour excision with abdominal wall repair using a plastic mesh, regional lymphadenectomy, bilateral salpingo-ovariectomy and adjuvant radiotherapy for the pelvic region with local boost were performed; in addition hormontherapy with medroxyprogesterone was started. Because of a recurrent pelvic tumour, chemotherapy, further local palliative radiotherapy and brachytherapy were administered. Subsequently distant metastases in bilateral axillary lymph nodes were diagnosed and palliative radiotherapy was performed. The patient died of morbus neoplasmaticus generalisatus in September 2008. The follow-up period had been 132 months.ConclusionThis paper is, to our knowledge, the only report in literature that presents a long-term survival as the outcome of multimodal therapy in the patient with this rare diagnosis. Further reports of new cases can help establish optimal treatment guidelines

Impact of Lifestyle on Differences in Skin Hydration of Selected Body Areas in Young Women

Measuring skin hydration is important for dermatology research, cosmetic practice, and daily skincare; it provides valuable insight into skin assessment and predicts treatment outcomes. This study investigated the level of skin hydration on various parts of the body in female university students, utilizing corneometry for measurement. Demographic, water intake, skincare, and exercise habit data were collected. The highest hydration levels were on the face (n = 40), followed by cleavage skin (n = 42), neck skin (n = 48), and leg skin (n = 42). Differences were observed between the chin and forehead (106.06 ± 21.06 vs. 91.20 ± 26.68; p = 0.001) and the chin and cheek (106.06 ± 21.06 vs. 92.00 ± 27.63; p > 0.001). The differences in the hydration measurement results on cleavage were not significant (right clavicle 55.1 ± 12.93; left clavicle 51.84 ± 10.00; sternum 53.55 ± 16.3; p = 0.379). On the neck, the middle point exhibited the highest hydration (left 41.7 ± 11.3; middle 49.2 ± 12; right 47.2 ± 8.2; p > 0.001). The skin on the thigh was significantly drier than that on the shank (31.09 ± 6.89 vs. 33.54 ± 6.28; p = 0.008). Water consumption was positively associated with skin hydration and the amount of physical activity. We conclude that every skin area is characterized by different levels of hydration. Water intake and physical activity contribute to improved skin hydration

Purpose. Results of treatment of locally advanced larynx cancer T3-4No-4 are unsatisfied. The aim of study is analysis of risk factors. Methods and Materials. 112 patients with larynx cancer after radical surgical treatment had postoperative radiotherapy (conventional or accelarated). Results. The 3-year overall survival (OS) was 58%. Margin status and numer of risk factors had impast on OS. The 3-year locoregional control (LRC) was 80%. Number of risk factors, level of hemoglobin, overall treatment time and dose were significantly associated with LRC. Incidence of distant metastases was asssociated with G3 suamous cell carcinoma and index of nalignancy H. Glanz

Acne and skin lesions that appear in its course deteriorate the quality of life of patients, cause depression and the emergence of suicidal thoughts. Cosmetic treatments can have a positive effect on improving skin condition by cleaning up skin eruptions, thus improving the well-being of affected people. Hydrogen purification is a treatment that uses alkaline water generated by a device, which reduces sebum from the surface of the epidermis. This is a novel treatment that has recently been introduced to beauty salons. On the other hand, cosmetic acids have been used for many years for treating people with acne vulgaris and give spectacular results in terms of improving the skin condition. In this study, skin condition was evaluated with a Derma Unit SSC 3 device. The Global Acne Grading System (GAGS) was used to check acne severity. Twenty-four women aged 19–21 years (M = 20.13, SD = 0.80) diagnosed with mild acne vulgaris and a high sebum level participated in the study. Group A underwent a hydrogen purification treatment using an H2jet manipulator, which ejected alkaline water from the manipulator under pressure. Group B underwent a hydrogen purification treatment with the use of a phytic, pyruvic, lactic and ferulic acids at 40% mixture (pH 1.4). A series of four treatments was performed at 14-day intervals in both groups. Skin parameters were measured before and 30 days after the series of treatment. Very good results were obtained in both groups. The skin eruptions in patients were reduced and we also observed lower amounts of sebum on the surface of the epidermis, and an improvement in skin hydration. However, in group B, the results were better than in group A. The study showed that the synergy of the treatments produced much better effects than those obtained by completing the hydrogen purification treatment alone
