The emergence of a new geographic knowledge: the return of science to philosophy

In the current scenario of knowledge, the separation between science and Philosophy finds its limit, searching now a new unit. Geography, in this context of knowledge, presents its failed history while modern science and, at the same time, its capacity for moving beyond the limits. Lost in its lack of investigative unit, in its schizophrenia Physical/Human, Geography deals with the nodal point of all contemporary difficulty of knowledge, in that seeks the understanding of the world unit by the relationship of man with nature. Just at this point, where all historical difficulty of geographic analysis is founded, takes form a knowledge that transcends the barrier created by the split between Philosophy and science.No cenário atual do conhecimento, a separação outrora traçada entre ciência e Filosofia encontra seu ponto limite, cabendo agora uma nova unidade. A Geografia, nesse contexto geral do saber, encontra a justa forma de sua história fracassada enquanto ciência moderna e, ao mesmo tempo, a função pioneira de para além dos limites caminhar. Perdida em sua falta de unidade investigativa, em sua esquizofrenia Física/Humana, lida a Geografia com o ponto nodal de toda a dificuldade contemporânea do saber, na medida em que, nesse nada ser, busca a compreensão geral da unidade posta ao mundo pela relação do homem com a natureza. OS FUNDAMENTOS CIENTÍFICOS E ESTÉTICOS DA CIÊNCIA HUMBOLDTIANA: UMA PRIMEIRA APROXIMAÇÃO

O presente trabalho examina os fundamentos artísticos e filosóficos que influenciaram a constituição da ciência humboldtiana, que se constitui geneticamente na base para a organização do pensamento geográfico moderno. A ciência humboldtiana constituiu-se a partir de um complexo debate que ocorreu no século XVIII, tendo como base o pensamento sobre estética e teleologia de Kant e que se desenvolveu a partir da naturphilosophie com Schelling, Schiller e Goethe. O produto é a geração do conceito de espacialidade, categoria morfológica e estética da representação que permite a comunicação e a geração de conhecimento. Scientific and aesthetical foundations of the humboldtian science: a first approach This work examines the artistic and philosophical foundations that influenced the development of the Humboldtian science, which genetically constitutes the basis for modern geographic thinking. The Humboldtian science was developed from a complex debate that took place in the 18th century, having as basis Kant’s aesthetic and teleological thinking which, in turn, was developed from the naturphilosophie by Schelling, Schiller and Goethe. The product is the generation of spatial concept, morphological category and representation aesthetics that allows communication and generation of knowledge. CIÊNCIA E ESTÉTICA NA CIÊNCIA HUMBOLDTIANA E OS FUNDAMENTOS DA GEOGRAFIA FÍSICA MODERNA.

KANT, GOETHE E ALEXANDER HUMBOLDT: ESTÉTICA E PAISAGEM NA GÊNESE DA GEOGRAFIA FÍSICA MODERNA (Kant, Goethe and Alexander Humboldt: esthetics and landscape in the genesis of modern Physical Geography)

Este trabalho procura apontar a confluência das idéias kantianas, goetheanas e humboldtianas de estética e paisagem na fundamentação da Geografia Física Moderna. Em Kant trabalharemos com a construção de uma estética transcendental, pilar constituinte do projeto romântico da ciência humboldtiana e elemento primordial de uma nova noção de “forma”, além da perspectiva de uma natureza atuando segundo a fins; passando por Goethe, veremos como a paisagem assume um importante papel na nova explicação do mundo natural, antevendo na forma a síntese entre todo e parte e a face objetiva do protótipo e do protofenômeno; em Alexander Humboldt chegaremos ao nascimento de uma nova ciência, estruturada na concepção estética de uma forma representada por uma manifestação científico-artística, além da apresentação de uma interdependência entre a esfera subjetiva e objetiva, permitindo o surgimento de uma paisagem não estritamente natural, mas geográfica. Todo este revolver epistemológico será tomado em nosso tempo, num universo de cânones envelhecidos e novas necessidades. ABSTRACT This paper tries to point out the confluence of Kantian ideas, and goetheanas humboldtiana aesthetic and landscape in the grounds of Modern Physical Geography. In Kant's work with the construction of an aesthetic transcendental pillar constituent of the romantic project of science and humboldtian key element of a new concept of "form", besides the prospect of a nature acting according to purposes; through Goethe, see how the landscape plays an important role in the new explanation of the natural world, anticipating the kind of synthesis between whole and part and meet the objective of the prototype and proto-phenomenon; Alexander Humboldt arrive at the birth of a new science, based on the conception of an aesthetic form represented by a scientific and artistic expression, beyond the presentation of an interdependence between the subjective and objective ball, allowing the emergence of a landscape not strictly natural, but geographical.
