    Item factor analysis with target rotation for the one hundred and twenty items of the Yatabe Guilford Personality Inventory

    The Yatabe Guilford Personality Inventory was developed for measuring the twelve traits of personality (Tsujioka, 1957). Although ten items for each trait were selected using the item analysis method (item-total correlation), some researchers have questioned the dimensionality of the one hundred and twenty items of this inventory. In this research, we conducted item factor analysis for the one hundred and twenty items using the target rotation method with Weighted Least Square Mean and Variance adjusted of Mplus. The results of twelve factors were evaluated according to the principle of factor-trueness by Cattell and Tsujioka (1964). The communality of each scale of ten items was compared with alpha coefficient as an index for estimating the reliability of the scale. By examining the sixty-six figures of two-dimensional plotting for the factor patterns of one hundred and twenty items and twelve scales, the implications of the methodology for scale development were discussed.YG性格検査は、12のパーソナリティの特性を測定するために開発された (辻岡、1957) 。各特性の10個の項目は、項目分析法 (項目-合計相関) によって選択されたにもかかわらず、一部の研究者は、この検査の120個の項目の次元性について疑問を提起した。この研究では、MplusのWeighted Least Square Mean and Variance adjustedで解を推定し、ターゲット回転法を使用して、120個の項目の項目因子分析を行った。12因子の結果を、Cattell and Tsujioka (1964) による因子的真理の原理の観点から評価した。尺度の信頼性を推定するための指標という観点から、10項目からなる尺度の共通性をアルファ係数と比較した。120項目と12尺度の因子パターンについての66個の2次元プロット図を吟味しながら、尺度開発の方法論について議論した

    The Internal Structure of the YG Personality Inventory Scales: Categorical Factor Analysis with Bifactor Geomin Rotation

    Traditionally the scales of psychological constructs have been developed using exploratory factor analysis with the factor rotation method for simple structure named Varimax or Promax. In this research, we conducted the investigation of the bifactor structure and rotation for scale development postulated for a single dimension. Using Mplus the internal structures of the twelve subscales of the YG Personality Inventory were independently estimated by following three methods; Maximum Likelihood, Weighted Least Squares, and Weighted Least Square Mean and Variance adjusted. Comparing the estimates among different numbers of factors with Bifactor Geomin orthogonal rotation, implications of the methodology for scale development were discussed.伝統的に心理学的構成概念の尺度は、VarimaxまたはPromaxという単純構造への因子回転法による探索的因子分析を用いて開発されてきた。この研究では、一次元と仮定された尺度開発のためbifactor構造と回転に検討を加えた。Mplusを使用して、YG性格検査12の尺度の内部構造を三種類の方法(Maximum Likelihood, Weighted Least Squares, そしてWeighted Least Square Mean and Variance adjusted)で推定した。異なる数の因子についての直交Bifactor-Geomin 回転の推定値を比較しながら、尺度開発の方法論の意義について議論した

    Temperature Dependence of X-Ray Emission Behavior from Stacked Pyroelectric Single Crystals

    積層させた薄片状タンタル酸リチウムまたはニオブ酸リチウム単結晶とセラミックヒーターを用いた小型高電場発生デバイスを製作し,これまでの検討より高温領域である室温から 650 K までの間でX 線発生実験を行った.473 K から650 K まで10–4 Pa 下で加熱すると最高28 keV のX 線が発生した.積層させた焦電結晶の側面では温度変化に伴い局所的な放電が繰り返し起こった.焦電結晶の形状と放電発生について議論した. A high temperature-type compact device for pyroelectric high electric field generation was assembled with 8 pieces of thin-type LiTaO3 or LiNbO3 single crystals (10 × 10 × 0.5 mm) stacked and a ceramic heater. Pyroelectricity-induced X-ray emission behavior from the crystals was investigated as a function of ambient temperature in the range 300 through 650 K. End-point energy of continuous X-ray was 28 keV upon heating of stacked thin LiTaO3 crystals from 473 to 650 K. Discharge behaviors at the side of stacked pyroelectric crystals accompanied with X-ray emission were also discussed

    Reciprocal regulation of 11β-HSDs may predict steroid sensitivity in childhood nephrotic syndrome

    Childhood nephrotic syndrome, in which steroid-dependence occurs concurrently with steroid-resistance, requires aggressive therapy to prevent relapse. Predictive biomarkers that can be used to stratify treatment are urgently needed. Here we report that reciprocal regulation of the glucocorticoid metabolizing enzymes, 11β-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase types 1 and 2, is associated with steroid-responsiveness and disease remission in childhood nephrotic syndrome, potentially providing a marker to identify patients in which aggressive therapy is required.</jats:p

    Pilot Study of Devises for Chemical Reactions with High Electric Field of Pyroelectric Crystal

    タンタル酸リチウム単結晶の温度変化に伴って形成する高電場を電場触媒反応に応用することを目標とし,反応基質を導入可能な密封系小型高電場発生ユニットを製作した.z軸長に対するz面の面積が異なる二種類の単結晶を用いてX線発生実験を行ったところ,単位z軸長あたりの生成した電場は薄片型結晶の方が大きかった.単結晶表面に白金箔を添加した状態でも,白金箔の特性X 線が最高エネルギー22 keV の白色X 線に重なって観測された.製作した密封空間のガス放出挙動を質量分析計で測定した.Compact devices for high electric field generator using a different aspect ratio of pyroelectric LiTaO3 single crystal and a Peltier device were assembled. Measurement of X-ray emitted upon the thermal changing was carried out to evaluate the induced electric field onto surface of the z-plane of LiTaO3. The formed electric field per length of the z-axis for thin-type (10 × 10 × 2 mm) was twice larger than that of pillar-type (3 × 3 × 10 mm). The attachment of Pt foil onto the surface of z-plane little affected on X-ray emission behavior. The flange-type generator with thin-type LiTaO3 single crystal was also assembled to construct a reactor for chemical reactions with induced high electric field of a pyroelectric crystal.
