New Interchange, I-69 and 106th Street, Fishers, Indiana

    Get PDF
This first-of-its-kind oval-about interchange was an INDOT project with financial support from both the City of Fishers and Hamilton County, in a combined effort to relieve congestion at the two existing adjacent interchanges of 96th and 116th Streets. We will discuss the extensive traffic analysis completed for the FHWA Interchange Justification Study, modifications in roundabout design, cost savings of two parallel two-lane bridges versus one oddshaped five-lane bridge, and lessons learned in utility coordination

Imaging Findings in Two Cases of Fluoroquinolone-Induced Achilles Tendinopathy

    Get PDF
AbstractTendonitis and tendon rupture are rare but recognized complications of fluoroquinolone therapy. Most reports of this problem have appeared in the rheumatology and pharmacology literature, and this topic has received little attention in the radiologic literature. We report two cases of fluoroquinolone-induced tendinopathy and describe their magnetic resonance (MR) and sonographic findings. Although Achilles tendinopathy is generally the result of repetitive injury, it is useful to keep other causes in mind. MR or sonographic findings of Achilles tendinopathy in a patient without history of antecedent trauma should prompt the radiologist to consider fluoroquinolone treatment as a possible causative agent

The Power+ Plan and citizen’s movement for just transition in Appalachia and beyond

    Get PDF
In January 2015, President Obama announced a five-year plan to direct over $1 billion into economic transition and reclamation in Appalachia and elsewhere. The proposed POWER+ plan draws funds from the Abandoned Mine Lands Fund and from five federal agencies. Through 2015, the Alliance for Appalachia and other grassroots organizations lobbied local governments to support POWER+. Dozens of county governments across Central Appalachia have passed resolutions in support. This roundtable reflects on this remarkably successful mobilization for just transition policy. It analyzes POWER+ in historical context of past macrostructural shifts in the relationship of the Corporate to the Local State. Many of the panelists have been doing grassroots organizing to mobilize local governments and elected officials to endorse the POWER+ Plan. Others have been involved in earlier struggles to democratize the relationship between federal, state, and local levels of economic planning. The roundtable will seek to apply lessons from earlier eras of struggle to contemporary challenges of neoliberal globalization

eMouseAtlas, EMAGE, and the spatial dimension of the transcriptome

Abstract eMouseAtlas (www.emouseatlas.org) is a com-prehensive online resource to visualise mouse development and investigate gene expression in the mouse embryo. We have recently deployed a completely redesigned Mouse Anatomy Atlas website (www.emouseatlas.org/emap/ema) that allows users to view 3D embryo reconstructions, delineated anatomy, and high-resolution histological sec-tions. A new feature of the website is the IIP3D web tool that allows a user to view arbitrary sections of 3D embryo reconstructions using a web browser. This feature provides interactive access to very high-volume 3D images via a tiled pan-and-zoom style interface and circumvents the need to download large image files for visualisation. eMouseAtla
