A retail marketing plan for Titan Taft

Titan, the first basketball-focused retail store in the Philippines and in Southeast Asia, started in 2010 with For Love of the Game as their dictum. Founded by individuals strongly affiliated with basketball as athletes and fans, they sought to create a 360-degree experience like no other for the Filipino baller. Their mission is to provide the best basketball product, service and experience that will inspire every person\u27s love of the game, just as the company owners have.. They offer a barbershop connected to their retail store as an extension to the court to give more room for a basketball collective, where a sense of community can be honed as customers and fans of the game can live and breathe basketball. Manila seemed to be a ready market for this basketball hub as it is the most popular sport in the country. This proved to be true, as Titan has experienced nothing but growth from the moment it entered the market. Now having 4 branches, the company owners detected a slow growth in its recently opened branch in Taft Avenue. This paper is a retail plan geared towards identifying the problems that plague this branch in order to help increase its store sales revenue and improve the store operations. It hopes to strengthen the brand image towards its target market, specifically the male students of De La Salle University Manila, as requested by the company. In order to do so, a UAI survey will be conducted to see how Titan has been established in their minds. As an appendix, diagrams such as Porter\u27s Five Forces, the Fishbone Diagram and the Flower of Service were included to give further aid in the service aspect of the business

ACCELERATE and European Medicine Agency Paediatric Strategy Forum for medicinal product development for mature B-cell malignancies in children.

Paediatric Strategy Forums have been created by the multistakeholder organisation, ACCELERATE, and the European Medicines Agency to facilitate dialogue between all relevant stakeholders and suggest strategies in critical areas of paediatric oncology drug development. As there are many medicines being developed for B-cell malignancies in adults but comparatively few in children with these malignancies, a Paediatric Strategy Forum was held to discuss the best approach to develop these products for children. It was concluded that as current frontline therapy is highly successful, despite associated acute toxicity, de-escalation of this or substitution of presently used drugs with new medicines can only be undertaken when there is an effective salvage regimen, which is currently not available. Therefore priority should be given to developing treatment for patients with relapsed and refractory mature B-cell lymphomas. The consensus of the clinicians attending the meeting was that CAR T-cells, T-cell engagers and antibody drug conjugates (excluding those with a vinca alkaloid–like drug) presently have the greatest probability of providing benefit in relapse in view of their mechanism of action. However, as producing autologous CAR T-cells currently takes at least 4 weeks, they are not products which could be quickly employed initially at relapse in rapidly progressing mature B-cell malignancies but only for the consolidation phase of the treatment. Global, industry-supported, academic-sponsored studies testing compounds from different pharmaceutical companies simultaneously should be considered in rare populations, and it was proposed that an international working group be formed to develop an overarching clinical trials strategy for these disease groups. Future Forums are planned for other relevant paediatric oncologic diseases with a high unmet medical need and relevant molecular targets.</p

Surgery and outcome of infective endocarditis in octogenarians: prospective data from the ESC EORP EURO-ENDO registry

Purpose: High mortality and a limited performance of valvular surgery are typical features of infective endocarditis (IE) in octogenarians, even though surgical treatment is a major determinant of a successful outcome in IE. Methods: Data from the prospective multicentre ESC EORP EURO-ENDO registry were used to assess the prognostic role of valvular surgery depending on age. Results: As compared to &lt; 80&nbsp;yo patients, ≥ 80&nbsp;yo had lower rates of theoretical indication for valvular surgery (49.1% vs. 60.3%, p &lt; 0.001), of surgery performed (37.0% vs. 75.5%, p &lt; 0.001), and a higher in-hospital (25.9% vs. 15.8%, p &lt; 0.001) and 1-year mortality (41.3% vs. 22.2%, p &lt; 0.001). By multivariable analysis, age per se was not predictive of 1-year mortality, but lack of surgical procedures when indicated was strongly predictive (HR 2.98 [2.43–3.66]). By propensity analysis, 304 ≥ 80&nbsp;yo were matched to 608 &lt; 80&nbsp;yo patients. Propensity analysis confirmed the lower rate of indication for valvular surgery (51.3% vs. 57.2%, p = 0.031) and of surgery performed (35.3% vs. 68.4%, p &lt; 0.0001) in ≥ 80&nbsp;yo. Overall mortality remained higher in ≥ 80&nbsp;yo (in-hospital: HR 1.50[1.06–2.13], p = 0.0210; 1-yr: HR 1.58[1.21–2.05], p = 0.0006), but was not different from that of &lt; 80&nbsp;yo among those who had surgery (in-hospital: 19.7% vs. 20.0%, p = 0.4236; 1-year: 27.3% vs. 25.5%, p = 0.7176). Conclusion: Although mortality rates are consistently higher in ≥ 80&nbsp;yo patients than in &lt; 80&nbsp;yo patients in the general population, mortality of surgery in ≥ 80&nbsp;yo is similar to &lt; 80&nbsp;yo after matching patients. These results confirm the importance of a better recognition of surgical indication and of an increased performance of surgery in ≥ 80&nbsp;yo patients
