Searching for dark matter via mono-ZZ boson production at the ILC

High energy colliders provide a new unique way to determine the microscopic properties of the dark matter (DM). Weakly interacting massive particles (WIMPs) are widely considered as one of the best DM candidates. It is usually assumed that the WIMP couples to the SM sector through its interactions with quarks and leptons. In this paper, we investigate the DM pair production associated with a ZZ boson in an effective field theory framework at the International Linear Collider (ILC), which can be used to study the interactions between the DM and leptons. For illustrative purposes, we present the integrated and differential cross sections for the e+eχχˉZe^+ e^- \rightarrow \chi \bar{\chi} Z process, where the ZZ boson is radiated from the initial state electron or positron. Meanwhile, we analyze the neutrino pair production in association with a ZZ boson as the SM background.Comment: 12 pages, 5 figure

Objective. Heart failure (HF) is a global public health problem. Early literature studies manifested that Shenfu injection (SFI) is one of the most commonly used traditional Chinese patent medicine for HF in China. This article intended to systematically evaluate the efficacy and safety of SFI for HF. Methods. An extensive search was performed within 6 English and Chinese electronic database up to November 2011. Ninety-nine randomized controlled trails (RCTs) were collected, irrespective of languages. Two authors extracted data and assessed the trial quality independently. RevMan 5.0.2 was used for data analysis. Results. Compared with routine treatment and/or device support, SFI combined with routine treatment and/or device support showed better effect on clinical effect rate, mortality, heart rate, NT-proBNP and 6-minute walk distance. Results in ultrasonic cardiography also showed that SFI combined with routine treatment improved heart function of HF patients. There were no significant difference in blood pressure between SFI and routine treatment groups. Adverse events were reported in thirteen trails with thirteen specific symptoms, while no serious adverse effect was reported. Conclusion. SFI appear to be effective for treating HF. However, further rigorously designed RCTs are warranted because of insufficient methodological rigor in the majority of included trials

The mechanisms and diagnostic potential of lncRNAs, miRNAs, and their related signaling pathways in cervical cancer

Cervical cancer (CC), the fourth most prevalent type of cancer among women worldwide, is associated with high rates of morbidity and mortality. Due to the long period of latency in CC, most patients are already in the middle to late stages when initially diagnosed, which greatly reduces the clinical cure rate and quality of survival, thus resulting in poor outcomes. In recent years, with continuous exploration in the fields of bioinformatics and molecules, it has been found that ncRNAs, including miRNAs and lncRNAs, without the ability to translate proteins are capable of activating or inhibiting certain signaling pathways by targeting and modulating the level of expression of proteins involved in these signaling pathways. ncRNAs play important roles in assisting with diagnosis, drug administration, and prediction of prognosis during CC progression. As an entry point, the mechanisms of interaction between miRNAs, lncRNAs, and signaling pathways have long been a focus in basic research relating to CC, and numerous experimental studies have confirmed the close relationship of miRNAs, lncRNAs, and signaling pathways with CC development. Against this background, we summarize the latest advances in the involvement of lncRNA- and miRNA-related signaling pathways in the development of CC to provide guidance for CC treatment
