Inversion for local stress field inhomogeneities
In this thesis, the 1997 Vogtland/NW-Bohemia swarm has been selected for the analysis of inhomogeneities in the stress field because two predominant nearly perpendicular flat zones of seismicity are visible in the hypocentre distribution implying inhomogeneities in the stress field. This is unusual compared to other swarms originating from this area. An existing dataset of waveform data, P- and S-phase picks, and master event locations has been analysed regarding similarity of waveforms, location refinement, and estimation of relative moment tensors. The latter are used together with a regional dataset of 50 single focal mechanisms and 125 focal mechanisms from the 2000 hydraulic fracturing experiment at the KTB for an estimate of the regional homogeneous and the locally inhomogeneous stress field. An automated processing procedure consisting of coherence analysis,precise relocation, relative moment tensor inversion, and stress trajectory determination has been set up. The coherence analysis has been successfully applied using a new method that uses three component seismograms. 457 events are separated into 13 multiplets of similar waveforms of at least size 8. Another result are precise relative arrival time measurements which are fed into the precise relocation program "hypoDD". Two nearly perpendicular structures are found in the hypocentre distribution. 352 moment tensors are estimated using a relative moment tensor inversion. Mit der 5. Novelle des Abfallgesetzes hat die Bundesregierung im Frühjahr 1993 den Entwurf eines Kreislaufwirtschafts- und Abfallgesetzes verabschiedet. Die Wirtschaft soll dadurch verstärkt
die Verantwortung für die hergestellten Produkte über den gesamten Lebensweg wahrnehmen.
Vor diesem Hintergrund veranstalteten das Zentrum für Europäische Wirtschaftsforschung und das Referat Energiewirtschaft und Umweltschutz der Industrie und Handelskammer Karlsruhe am 23.
Februar 1994 im Rahmen der IHK-Veranstaltungsreihe "Betrieblicher Umweltschutz" ein Seminar zum Thema "Verpackungsmaterial und Schmierstoffe aus nachwachsenden Rohstoffen".

Lithium Nitropyrazolates as Potential Red Pyrotechnic Colorants
Strontium-based red pyrotechnic colorants have fallen into disrepute due to the harmful influence of this alkaline earth metal on adolescents. In this context, the energetic character, safety, and combustion to benign nitrogen gas of nitropyrazoles are used for the design of the corresponding lithiated materials, which are investigated as potential replacements in the current work. For this purpose, the lithium salts of 3,4-dinitro-1H-pyrazole, 3,5-dinitro-1H-pyrazole, 4-amino-3,5-dinitro-1H-pyrazole, 3,4,5-trinitro-1H-pyrazole, and 4-hydroxy-3,5-dinitro-1H-pyrazole were extensively characterized by standard analytical methods, low-temperature single-crystal X-ray diffraction, studies of the thermo-chemical behavior, and sensitivity assessments. Our assumption that the high nitrogen contents and the low oxygen balances of these compounds would adjust a cool, reductive flame atmosphere essential for red emissions by lithium was put to the test
The Hydrogen Atom in Combined Electric and Magnetic Fields with Arbitrary Mutual Orientations
For the hydrogen atom in combined magnetic and electric fields we investigate
the dependence of the quantum spectra, classical dynamics, and statistical
distributions of energy levels on the mutual orientation of the two external
fields. Resonance energies and oscillator strengths are obtained by exact
diagonalization of the Hamiltonian in a complete basis set, even far above the
ionization threshold. At high excitation energies around the Stark saddle point
the eigenenergies exhibit strong level repulsions when the angle between the
fields is varied. The large avoided crossings occur between states with the
same approximately conserved principal quantum number, n, and this
intramanifold mixing of states cannot be explained, not even qualitatively, by
conventional perturbation theory. However, it is well reproduced by an extended
perturbation theory which takes into account all couplings between the angular
momentum and Runge-Lenz vector. The large avoided crossings are interpreted as
a quantum manifestation of classical intramanifold chaos. This interpretation
is supported by both classical Poincar\'e surfaces of section, which reveal a
mixed regular-chaotic intramanifold dynamics, and the statistical analysis of
