The paper deals with the word maidan in the modern Ukrainian city discourse. Changing of its meaning are analyzed in different periods of time. Special attention is paid to the history of nomination of the main Kyiv square - the Independence Square. After Orange Revolution (2004) and especially after Euromaidan (2013-2014) it is called just Maidan in different languages. Rozumienie wybranych kodów kulturowych przez dzieci dwujęzyczne mówiące po polsku i ukraińsku (na przykładzie nazw bohaterów ukraińskich bajek ludowych)

Artykuł poświęcony problemowi rozumienia dwujęzycznymi dziećmi, które mieszkają w Polsce i mówią po ukraińsku i po polsku, ukraińskich kodów kulturowych, ukrytych w bajkach ludowych. Badanie mowy ukraińskich dzieci dwujęzycznych jest bardzo aktualnym i ważnym we współczesnej lingwistyce. Kody kulturowe są kluczą częścią każdej kultury. Cel obecnego badania wyeksponować i przeanalizować rozumienie przez dwujęzyczne dzieci ukraińskie mieszkające za granicą kodów kulturowych ukrytych w imionach popularnych bohaterów ukraińskich bajek ludowych. Rozumienie, umiejętność zdefiniować i opisać wybranych bohaterów prezentuje znajomość ukraińskich bajek ludowych oraz je konotacje związane z wybranymi nazwani własnymi. Analiza ankiet prezentuje identyfikację i szczegółowe cechy odbierania kodów kulturowych i tłumaczenie je z punktu widzenia native speakera pod wpływem zewnętrznych czynników językowych i kulturowych.The article deals with the problem of how bilingual children speaking Ukrainian and Polish and living in Poland understand and comprehend the Ukrainian cultural codes from folk tales. Research on the speech of bilingual Ukrainian children is a highly relevant direction in modern linguistics. Cultural codes are a key part of each culture. The aim of the research is to indicate and analyse how bilingual Ukrainian children living abroad understand cultural codes submerged in the names of well-known characters from Ukrainian folk tales. The ability to define describe and understand these characters shows the children’s knowledge of Ukrainian folktales and the connotations of selected proper names. The analysis of the surveys reveals how the peculiarities of cultural codes are identified, understood and explained by native speakers under the influence of external lingual and cultural factors

Diagnoza logopedyczna kompetencji językowych u wielojęzycznych dzieci z Ukrainy

Artykuł porusza zagadnienie diagnozy logopedycznej dzieci wzrastających w środowisku wielojęzycznym. Autorzy prezentują dezyderaty światowych standardów wykorzystywanych w ocenie mowy i języka wśród dwujęzycznych dzieci. Zwracają szczególną uwagę na ważną rolę interpretatora w diagnozie różnicowej językowych operacji rozwojowych, tych wynikających z dwujęzyczności oraz zaburzeń komunikacyjnych. Uzupełnieniem teoretycznej części artykułu są przeanalizowane przez logopedę oraz interpretatora przykłady próbek mowy dzieci wielojęzycznych.The article discusses the speech therapy diagnosis of children growing up in multilingual environments. The authors present the desiderata of global standards used in the assessment of speech and language among bilingual children. Particular attention is paid to the important role of an interpreter in the differential diagnosis of the typical operations of speech/language development, bilingualism and communication, and language deficits. The cases of speech patterns among bilingual children analysed both by the speech therapist and the interpreter complement the theoretical part of the article

The names of mythological characters in the folk tales from Lemko region (comparative studies)

The article deals with the names of the mythological characters of the folk tales in the texts recorded by Mykhailo Hyriak in the XX century in Presov Region, Slovakia. Analyzed items are compared with their variants in the folk texts from Pokuttia, Podillia, Transcarpathian, Poltava, Kyiv and Chernihiv Regions. Comparative analysis represents the differences in the naming of similar tale characters, semantic and functional peculiarities of the names. Also author pays attention to the influence of culture, language and traditions of the other ethnic groups on the system of the names in Lemko folk tales

The article deals with the personal names of women in the Ukrainian folk tales, written down in the different parts of Ukraine – from Chernihiv region to Lemko region in Galicia. Suržyk and dialects in the modern Ukrainian cultural content : anthropological and linguistic aspect.

The article deals with the analysis of the penetration of elements of vernacular language, in particular suržyk and dialects, into various genres of mass culture and literature, from the point of view of anthropological linguistics. Postcolonial development of language involves the expansion of its functional significance, which is manifested in new phenomena and the transformation of traditional forms. Suržyk and dialects in mass culture are signs of language evolution or degradation, expansion or contraction of the meaning of а language in the cultural context.Стаття присвячена аналізу проникнення у різні жанри масової культури та літератури елементів живого мовлення, зокрема суржику та діалектів, з погляду антропологічної лінгвістики.
