An empirical study on influencers and their engagement factors: The YouTubers' perspective

    Get PDF
The current marketing arena is witnessing that the use of influencers or third-party content-generators is an efficient practice. Adding the fact that one of the arising-stars platforms in the social media spectrum is YouTube, the current research aims to understand how YouTube influencers can contribute to the process of customer engagement. The present research methodology is based on a qualitative approach through in-depth interviews of 22 female Youtubers devoted to the lifestyle categories. The questionnaire was built upon existing literature, aiming to understand what are the engagement factors that influencers should rely on to promote engagement from followers with the focal advertised object (i.e., product, brand). But this time from the Youtubers perspective. From the development of this study, a set of customer engagement factors arise. Based on the results we can claim that having an informal relationship with brands, presenting different content from others in the industry, or having a well-connected relationship with followers are engagement factors that contribute to customer engagement.info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersio

Exponential stability for a nonlinear porous-elastic system with delay

In this work, we consider the existence of global solution and the exponential decay of a nonlinear porous elastic system with time delay. The nonlinear term as well as the delay acting in the equation of the volume fraction. In order to obtain the existence and uniqueness of a global solution, we will use the semigroup theory of linear operators and under a certain relation involving the coefficients of the system together with a Lyapunov functional, we will establish the exponential decay of the energy associated to the system.Comment: Manuscript, 21 page

Synthesis and photophysical characterization of novel triphenylamine-benzimidazole derivatives

    Get PDF
Research on organic luminescent materials has been intensely pursued due to their importance in technological applications related to signaling, fluorescent biosensory/chemosensory materials, molecular switches and organic light emitting diodes (OLEDs). Organic fluorophores such as triphenylamine and benzimidazole derivatives have attracted a particular attention owing to their high emission efficiency being widely used as electron transporters and emitting layers for OLEDs.1 Recently, we have been investigating the potential of heterocyclic systems bearing functionalized (benz)imidazole derivatives exhibiting high thermal stability, interesting emissive and chemosensory properties.2 In this communication we report the synthesis and photophysical characterization of triphenylamine-benzimidazoles (compounds 1a-d) which were synthesized by a one step reaction through the Na2S2O4 reduction of several commercially available o-nitroanilines in the presence of triphenylamine aldehyde in DMSO at 120 °C. Compounds 1a-d bear different functionalization at position 5 of the benzimidazole with electron-donor or acceptor groups (Figure 1). A comprehensive spectral and photophysical investigation of these compounds including absorption, fluorescence and triplet-triplet absorption spectra, together with quantum yields of fluorescence, internal conversion, intersystem crossing and singlet oxygen and rate constants for the radiative and radiationless processes has been undertaken in solution at room temperature. It is shown that compounds 1a-d exhibit high fluorescence quantum yields (0.70-0.78). Additionally, a comparison between the optical and photophysical properties of 1a-d will be also presented and discussed.Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia (FCT

The origin of power-law distributions in deterministic walks: the influence of landscape geometry

We investigate the properties of a deterministic walk, whose locomotion rule is always to travel to the nearest site. Initially the sites are randomly distributed in a closed rectangular (A/L×L)A/L \times L) landscape and, once reached, they become unavailable for future visits. As expected, the walker step lengths present characteristic scales in one (L0L \to 0) and two (A/LLA/L \sim L) dimensions. However, we find scale invariance for an intermediate geometry, when the landscape is a thin strip-like region. This result is induced geometrically by a dynamical trapping mechanism, leading to a power law distribution for the step lengths. The relevance of our findings in broader contexts -- of both deterministic and random walks -- is also briefly discussed.Comment: 7 pages, 11 figures. To appear in Phys. Rev.
