    Semantic Relevance Analysis of Subject-Predicate-Object (SPO) Triples

    The goal of this thesis is to explore and integrate several existing measurements for ranking the relevance of a set of subject-predicate-object (SPO) triples to a given concept. As we are inundated with information from multiple sources on the World-Wide-Web, SPO similarity measures play a progressively important role in information extraction, information retrieval, document clustering and ontology learning. This thesis is applied in the Cyber Security Domain for identifying and understanding the factors and elements of sociopolitical events relevant to cyberattacks. Our efforts are towards developing an algorithm that begins with an analysis of news articles by taking into account the semantic information and word order information in the SPOs extracted from the articles. The semantic cohesiveness of a user provided concept and the extracted SPOs will then be calculated using semantic similarity measures derived from 1) structured lexical databases; and 2) our own corpus statistics. The use of a lexical database will enable our method to model human common sense knowledge, while the incorporation of our own corpus statistics allows our method to be adaptable to the Cyber Security domain. The model can be extended to other domains by simply changing the local corpus. The integration of different measures will help us triangulate the ranking of SPOs from multiple dimensions of semantic cohesiveness. Our results are compared to rankings gathered from surveys of human users, where each respondent ranks a list of SPO based on their common knowledge and understanding of the relevance evaluations to a given concept. The comparison demonstrates that our integrated SPO similarity ranking scheme closely reflects the human common sense knowledge in a specific domain it addresses

    Study of genetic variability and heritability over extended dates of sowing in bread wheat (Triticum aestivum L.)

    The genetic variability and heritability of fourteen quantitative characters involving20 cultivars of wheat were evaluated. All characters showed the considerable amount ofvariability in all three extended dates of sowing. High phenotypic and genotypic coefficientof variation was observed for grain yield per plant, grain yield per plot, productive tillers perm2, grains per spike, Biological yield per plant, harvest index and moderate for plant height,flag leaf length, width and test weight. The high heritability coupled with high geneticadvance was observed for the characters plant height, productive tillers, spike length and testweight in all three dates of sowing. Thus these traits could be used effectively for theimprovement of high yielding varieties of wheat for early, timely and late sown conditions

    Keratinolysis of chicken feather and human hair by nondermatophytic keratinophilic fungi isolated from soil

    Development in food industry increases consumption of chicken by people and it is estimated that tons of poultry feathers are produced by poultry farms. Hairs are other forms of keratinous waste which is generated in huge amounts by leather industries and parlours worldwide. Chicken feathers and hairs are waste contains high-quality protein, hard to degraded. Eleven nondermatophytic keratinophilic fungi were isolated from soil by hair baiting method and were used to deteriorate hairs and feathers. Pictographic authentication showed that the microbial incidence started with surface colonization of keratinous substrate, mechanical interference of substrate by penetrating hyphae and development of broad perforating organs. Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR) analysis of degraded and undegraded hair and the feather was made. In the sulphoxide region at 1073, the band corresponding to S-O was observed with low intensity and poorly visible in control feathers, while in degraded feather intensity of the band was high in case of Chrysosporium indicum and Chrysosporium tropicum. In Hairs, S-O band was more intense in C indicum as compared to C. tropicum while it was absent in undegraded human hair. The present work observed keratin degradation activity on human hair and chicken feather by FTIR spectra which are useful in the study of structure and mechanism of keratinolysis. Keratinous waste degradation has great potential to convert them into various byproducts such as enzymes, amino acids, biofertilizer and animal feed.

The review will analyze BRV determination using a variety of analytical approaches in comparison with each other. Since then different methods have been described and used for their detection or confirmation. For many decades immunofluorescent antinuclear antibody test has been the "gold standard" in the diagnosis of these disorders. However to increase the sensitivity and specificity of antinuclear antibody detection further approaches were explored. Today a battery of newer techniques are available some of which are now considered better and are competing with the older methods. This article provides an overview on advancement in antinuclear antibody detection methods, their future prospects, advantages, disadvantages and guidelines for use of these tests

    Technological Perspectives of Countering UAV Swarms

    Conventional AD systems have been found less effective for countering UAVs and loitering munitions. Thishas necessitated the development of counter-UAV systems with different functionalities. A cluster of armed UAVsas swarm formations has further rendered the conventional AD systems far from effective, emphasizing the need to consider countering swarms as the most crucial element in new-generation aerial threat mitigation strategies. In this paper, the capabilities of UAV swarms and vital military assets exposed to such attacks are identified. To protect the vital assets from aerial swarm threats, ideal system characteristics of a counter-UAV (C-UAV) swarm system to overcome the challenges are discussed. Currently available acquisition & engagement technology is analyzed and the application of these systems to counter swarm applications is brought out. New requirements are discussed and a conceptual design of a layered system is derived which can handle a large spectrum of aerial threats including a swarm of UAVs. This system is expected to have a higher rate of engagement and can be designed with low-cost network-integrated systems
