Salud y seguridad en el trabajo: calidad y determinantes de su divulgación en los informes de sostenibilidad

Este estudo analisa a qualidade das divulgações de saúde e segurança no trabalho (SST) e as suas determinantes, tendo como amostra os relatórios de 101 empresas da União Europeia (UE) integrantes da base de dados oficial da Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), para o ano de 2018. A análise de conteúdo permitiu a construção do índice de qualidade das divulgações de SST das empresas, posteriormente utilizado como variável dependente dos modelos ANOVA de um fator e de regressão linear múltipla. Concluiu-se que a qualidade das divulgações de SST é, em média, de 12 pontos em 30, sendo significativamente influenciada por três determinantes: a região da Europa, a certificação no sistema de gestão de SST e a detenção de garantia externa nos relatórios. Verificou-se a maior qualidade na região do Norte da Europa, seguindo-se a do Sul da Europa, em face à da Europa Central e Oriental e à Europa Ocidental.This study analyzes the quality of occupational health and safety (OHS) disclosures and their determinants, taking as a sample the reports of 101 European Union (EU) companies included in the official database of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) for the year 2018. Content analysis served to build the quality index regarding the companies’ OHS disclosures. The index was then used as a dependent variable in one-way ANOVA and multiple linear regression models. We found that the quality of OHS disclosures is, on average, 12 points out of 30, which is significantly influenced by three determinants: the region of Europe, certification of the OHS management system, and external assurance of the reports. There is higher quality in Northern Europe, followed by Southern Europe, compared to Central and Eastern Europe, and Western Europe.Este estudio analiza la calidad de las divulgaciones de seguridad y salud en el trabajo (SST) y sus determinantes, utilizando como muestra los informes de 101 empresas de la Unión Europea incluidos en la base de datos oficial de la Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) para el año 2018. El análisis de contenido permitió la construcción del índice de calidad de las divulgaciones de SST de las empresas, utilizado posteriormente como variable dependiente del ANOVA de un factor y de los modelos de regresión lineal múltiple. Se ha concluido que la calidad de las divulgaciones SST es, en promedio, de 12 puntos sobre 30 y que está influenciada significativamente por tres determinantes: la región europea, la certificación en el sistema de gestión de SST y la tenencia de una garantía externa en los informes. Educação de alunos imigrantes: a experiência de uma escola pública em São Paulo

The aim of the study is to investigate the experience of a municipal elementary school in São Paulo in welcoming immigrant students. Data collection was conducted through interviews with the principal, pedagogical coordinator, teachers and Bolivian immigrant parents; classroom observations, break time and project meetings for immigrant students; application of student proximity scale and analysis of school performance. The results showed that, in the perception of professionals and parents, there was a significant reduction in the manifestations of prejudice and discrimination, as well as greater interaction among students. School initiatives to enhance the culture of immigrants should be highlighted, as well as the incorporation of the theme of immigration into the curriculum through the learning scripts produced by teachers. Finally, the importance of democratic management and collective participation is highlighted for the achievement of a more inclusive school.O estudo tem por objetivo geral investigar a experiência de uma escola municipal de ensino fundamental de São Paulo no acolhimento de alunos imigrantes. A coleta de dados foi realizada por meio de entrevistas com o diretor, coordenador pedagógico, professores e pais imigrantes bolivianos; observações de sala de aula, recreio e reuniões dos projetos destinados aos alunos imigrantes; aplicação da escala de proximidade entre alunos e análise do rendimento escolar. Os resultados mostraram que, na percepção dos profissionais e dos pais, houve uma redução significativa das manifestações de preconceito e discriminação, assim como maior interação entre os alunos. Iniciativas da escola no sentido de valorização da cultura dos imigrantes devem ser destacadas, assim como a incorporação do tema da imigração no currículo por meio dos roteiros de aprendizagem produzidos pelos professores. Por fim, destaca-se a importância da gestão democrática e da participação coletiva para o desenvolvimento de uma escola mais inclusiva.El estudio tiene por objetivo general investigar la experiencia en la acogida de alumnos inmigrantes en una escuela municipal de enseñanza fundamental de São Paulo. La recolección de datos fue realizada por medio de entrevistas con el director, coordinador pedagógico, profesores y padres inmigrantes bolivianos; observaciones de clase, recreo y reuniones de los proyectos destinados a los alumnos inmigrantes, aplicación de la escala de proximidad entre alumnos y análisis del rendimiento escolar. Los resultados apuntaron que, en la percepción de los profesionales y de los padres, hubo una reducción significativa de las manifestaciones de prejuicio y discriminación, así como mayor interacción entre los alumnos. Las iniciativas de la escuela en el sentido de valorización de la cultura de los inmigrantes deben ser destacadas, así como la incorporación del tema de la inmigración en el plan de estudios por medio de los itinerarios de aprendizaje producidos por los profesores. Urban-rural connections and development perspectives in Portugal

Portugal is characterized by a significant asymmetry in the population distribution/density and economic activity as well as in social and cultural dynamics. This means very diverse landscapes, differences in regional development, sustainability and quality of life, mainly between urban and rural areas. A consequence coherent with the contemporary dynamics: urbanization of many rural areas that loose their productive-agricultural identity and, simultaneously, the reintegration in urban areas of spaces and activities with more rural characteristics. In this process of increasing complexity of organization of the landscape is essential to restore the continuum naturale (between urban and rural areas) allowing closer links to both ways of life. A strategy supported in the landscape, which plays important functions for public interest, in the cultural, social, ecological and environmental fields. At the same time, constitutes an important resource for economic activity, as underlined in the European Landscape Convention. Based on this assumption, and using a multi-method approach, the study aims to analyse a) the links between urban and rural areas in Portugal and b) the reasons why these territories are chosen by individuals as places of work and mobility, residence or evasion, culture and leisure, tranquillity or excitement – meaning overall well-being. Primary information was obtained by a questionnaire survey applied to a convenience sample of the Portuguese population. Secondary data and information will be collected on the official Portuguese Statistics (INE and PORDATA). Understanding the urban-rural links is essential to support policy measures, take advantage from the global changes and challenge many of the existing myths
