Conceptual Understanding of High School Students on Plantae
Kingdom Plantae is a topic taught in Grade Tenth in Indonesia high school. The previous researchers have found misconceptions and difficulties in understanding the classification and the nomenclature system of Kingdom Plantae. Understanding basic concepts of Kingdom Plantae is important to study the more complex system of Plantae. This research was aimed to analyze the conceptual understanding of high school students on Plantae. The participants were 372 eleven graders who had studied Kingdom Plantae and selected randomly from eleven high schools in Surakarta, Indonesia. The diagnostic test four-tier consisting of 20 items. The instrument was to identify conceptual understanding. The instrument showed result on validity (mean = 1.00 and SD = 0.06) and reliability (0.46). The test showed that 10.5% students grouped as understand, and the rest varied as to False Negative (4.4%), False Positive (10.1%), Lack of Knowledge (45.6%), and Misconception (29.4%). Based on the results of the test, the students have misconceptions about monocots and dicots, the morphology of Anacardium occidentale, Musa sp., and Solanum tuberosum, classification of Anacardium occidentale. It was recommended to do detail examination of the reasons of low achievement in conceptual understanding of students
The Principle of Audi et Alteram Partem in Civil Dispute Settlement in District Court in Indonesia
The civil dispute settlement, in its practice is less sufficient to provide justice for the weak party. One of the legal principles in the Civil Procedure Law is Audi et alteram partem (hear from the other side/other party) as the basis of the rules and enforced by the judges in the civil judicial proceeding, in fact the process is long and the application of the principle is ignored, in addition in Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 48 Year 2009 on Judicial Power has not regulated it and prevail execution of Civil Procedure Code from the Dutch colonial era (HIR and RBG). This study aims to find the essence of Audi et alteram partem therefore the government shall regulate in Law Number 48 Year 2009 concerning Judicial Power therefore the sanctions would be more assertive, and the civil judgment would utterly reflect justice, legal certainty and beneficial. This type of research is empirical law research with descriptive qualitative approach method. Data sources include primary and secondary data. Secondary data are grouped, created an overview namely jurisprudence inventoried and grouped to quest for its ratio decidendi. Primary data are examined for its completeness, grouped according to its type and compared to each other. Primary data are analyzed qualitatively hence resulted the description of the process of civil dispute settlement through proof, while the secondary data is analyzed by Statute, Conceptual, and Case Approach to conduct legal reasoning, legal interpretation and legal argumentation in logical systematic way, to discover the development of free proofing assessment theory. Conclusion of research, there is difference of interpretation regarding the essence of Audi et alteram partem among litigants. Judges must decide upon the essence of Audi et alteram partem namely justice, equity, equality of opportunity by virtue of the free authority granted by law. This research recommends: the government shall regulate the principle of Audi et alteram Partem in a single article in Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 48 Year 2009 or Civil Procedure Law. Furthermore, the judge shall include reasons for the disregard/exclusion of the evidence of any party in judgment consideration thereby justice, equilibrium and legal certainty are expected by the parties can be achieved. Validation of the Bahasa Malaysia version of the Coping Inventory for Stressful Situation (CISS)
Introduction: There is an appealing need to have a validated Bahasa Malaysia (BM) questionnaire that is able to gauge stress coping styles among Malaysian population. A culturally accepted questionnaire will generate further research in the aspect of stress coping patterns in the Malaysia population. Objective: To translate the Coping Inventory for Stressful Situations (CISS) questionnaire into BM and to determine the construct validity, reliability and other psychometric properties of the translated BM version of the English CISS 48-item. Method: Two parallel forward and backward translations were done in BM in accordance to guideline and its validation was determined by using confirmatory factor analysis among 200 Malaysian subjects. Results: The BM CISS had very good Cronbach’s alpha values, 0.91, 0.89 and 0.85 respectively for Task-, Emotional- and Avoidance-oriented. The overall Cronbach’s alpha was 0.91. It also had good factor loading for most of its items where 44 items out of 48 had Confirmatory Factor Analysis values of more than 4.0. Conclusions: BM CISS had been adequately and correctly translated into Bahasa Malaysia with high psychometric properties. Minimal readjustment may be required in a few of its items to obtain excellent results
Training on Implementation of Early Childhood Education Curriculum 2013 and Assessment Record to Increase Teachers Competence
Early childhood education (ECE) Curriculum 2013 has been socialized since 2014, and had been prior testedin some kindergarten Pembina. Other early childhood institutions must use the curriculum 2013 started in oddsemester of 2015. Early childhood education Curriculum 2013 focuses on scientific approaches and authenticassessment, in order to give children more space and challenge to freely develop their potential. In the processof implementation, many early childhood education teachers face difficulties in interpreting the needs of thenew curriculum, especially on how to conduct activities based on scientific approach, and assess childrendevelopment authentically. This fact occurs might be because of the socialization and training of theCurriculum 2013 were only theoretical based, rather than provide more practices to the participants. To solvethese problems, the Center for Japanese Studies of Sebelas Maret University organized training for ECEteachers in Sukoharjo and Klaten on how to implement the Curriculum 2013. This training provided anexample of scientific approach based-activities and method to do recording of authentic assessment. It aimedto train teachers to be able immediately put it into practice in the classroom. Urgensi Pendaftaran Indikasi Geografis Ubi Cilembu untuk Meningkatkan IPM
Geographical Indication Registry Mechanism was introduced as the first step to gain exclusive economy right for local products. A socialization toward the mechanisms, therefore, was inevitably for the community of ubi cilembu farmers in Sumedang District of West Jave Province. In order to implement socialization process, several participants represented variety of stakeholders in community of ubi cilembu farmers were elected. By employing two way lecturing method that inviting lively interactive discussion among participants, the aim of socialization process was to promote awareness among participants toward the importance of Geographical Indication Registry Mechanism. As a result, participants agreed to establish representative institution for their product and to register their poduct legally for Geographical Indication rights
