    Implementation of Automated Training & Placement

    Training and placement is the crucial part of any educational institutes in which most of the work till now is being done manually. The aim of this project is that automation of training and placement department that will include minimum manual work and maximum optimization abstraction security. This is the web application as well as mobile application which can use in the android operating system as well as IOS operating system it is developed in ionic framework[1]. Students need to register in this application by filling all basic details like email_id, enrollment number etc. After successful registration students can able to logged into the system and after login he/she need to update his/her profile[4]. Also in this students can able to view company details. The training and placement department contains all the information about the students. The system stores all the personal information of the students like their personal details, qualification details and academic details. Also Admin can able to update the company details. In this project student get the notifications about the companies coming for the campus via SMS and email listing out the students as per company?s criteria provides all the details of the interview[8]. This project reduces the human efforts and maintaining large amount of data properly

    Comparison of cardiovascular safety of escitalopram and sertraline based on electrocardiographic alterations: a pharmacovigilance study

    Background: Escitalopram and sertraline are the most commonly prescribed antidepressant drugs, belongs to SSRI class. Both the drugs are long been considered as free from cardiovascular adverse effects. Recently number of studies reported potential association between these drugs and pronounced cardiovascular adverse effects. ECG changes like prolongation of QT interval are frequently used as markers for the increased risk of a fatal cardiac arrhythmia. The potential cardiovascular adverse reaction profile of both these drugs is little studied in Indian rural population.Methods: This was a 6 weeks prospective open label observational study carried out in a drug naive 209 patients receiving either escitalopram (n=106) or sertraline (n=103). ECG parameters like heart rate, RR interval, PQ/PR interval, QRS duration and QTc interval, were obtained directly from the digital machine recordings, additionally the QT interval was measured manually with the help of caliper. Statistical analysis was done by using Statistical software SPSS 17.0.Results: Out of 209 drugs naive patients, 12 from escitalopram group and 10 patients from Sertraline were lost to follow-up. Hence ECG recordings of the remaining 94 patients under escitalopram group, 93 patients under sertraline group were used for study analysis. The ECG alterations caused by the escitalopram were compared with that caused by sertraline. It was observed that the differences between the ECG alterations caused by either of escitalopram or sertraline were statistically non-significant.Conclusions: It was concluded, at therapeutic doses neither of the drugs have the potential risk of drug induced arrhythmias, throughout the study.

    Entropy and Complexity Analyses in Alzheimer’s Disease: An MEG Study

    Alzheimer’s disease (AD) is one of the most frequent disorders among elderly population and it is considered the main cause of dementia in western countries. This irreversible brain disorder is characterized by neural loss and the appearance of neurofibrillary tangles and senile plaques. The aim of the present study was the analysis of the magnetoencephalogram (MEG) background activity from AD patients and elderly control subjects. MEG recordings from 36 AD patients and 26 controls were analyzed by means of six entropy and complexity measures: Shannon spectral entropy (SSE), approximate entropy (ApEn), sample entropy (SampEn), Higuchi’s fractal dimension (HFD), Maragos and Sun’s fractal dimension (MSFD), and Lempel-Ziv complexity (LZC). SSE is an irregularity estimator in terms of the flatness of the spectrum, whereas ApEn and SampEn are embbeding entropies that quantify the signal regularity. The complexity measures HFD and MSFD were applied to MEG signals to estimate their fractal dimension. Finally, LZC measures the number of different substrings and the rate of their recurrence along the original time series. Our results show that MEG recordings are less complex and more regular in AD patients than in control subjects. Significant differences between both groups were found in several brain regions using all these methods, with the exception of MSFD (p-value < 0.05, Welch’s t-test with Bonferroni’s correction). Using receiver operating characteristic curves with a leave-one-out cross-validation procedure, the highest accuracy was achieved with SSE: 77.42%. We conclude that entropy and complexity analyses from MEG background activity could be useful to help in AD diagnosis

    Mineralization of Carbofuran by a Soil Bacterium

    A bacterium, tentatively identified as an Arthrobacter sp., was isolated from flooded soil that was incubated at 35°C and repeatedly treated with carbofuran (2,3-dihydro-2,2-dimethyl-7-benzofuranyl N-methylcarbamate). This bacterium exhibited an exceptional capacity to completely mineralize the ring-labeled (14)C in carbofuran to (14)CO(2) within 72 to 120 h in a mineral salts medium as a sole source of carbon and nitrogen under aerobic conditions. Mineralization was more rapid at 35°C than at 20°C. No degradation of carbofuran occurred even after prolonged incubation under anaerobic conditions. The predicted metabolites of carbofuran, 7-phenol (2,3-dihydro-2,2-dimethyl-7-benzofuranol) and 3-hydroxycarbofuran, were also metabolized rapidly. 7-Phenol, although formed during carbofuran degradation, never accumulated in large amounts, evidently because of its further metabolism through ring cleavage. The bacterium readily hydrolyzed carbaryl (1-naphthyl N-methylcarbamate), but its hydrolysis product, 1-naphthol, resisted further degradation by this bacterium
