Anomalous lateral diffusion in a viscous membrane surrounded by viscoelastic media
We investigate the lateral dynamics in a purely viscous lipid membrane
surrounded by viscoelastic media such as polymeric solutions. We first obtain
the generalized frequency-dependent mobility tensor and focus on the case when
the solvent is sandwiched by hard walls. Due to the viscoelasticity of the
solvent, the mean square displacement of a disk embedded in the membrane
exhibits an anomalous diffusion. An useful relation which connects the mean
square displacement and the solvent modulus is provided. We also calculate the
cross-correlation of the particle displacements which can be applied for
two-particle tracking experiments.Comment: 6 pages, 2 figure
Czochralski crystal growth: Modeling study
The modeling study of Czochralski (Cz) crystal growth is reported. The approach was to relate in a quantitative manner, using models based on first priniciples, crystal quality to operating conditions and geometric variables. The finite element method is used for all calculations
On the possibility of enhanced efficiency in (Zn, Cd)S dye sensitized solar cell
Nanoparticles of zinc sulphide and cadmium sulphide are synthesized by aqueous chemical method. XRD data show cubic phase for both the systems. UV-Vis absorption
spectra of nano ZnS and nano CdS are blue shifted from the respective bulk. The PL spectra of the above dye sensitized nanomaterials show two broad emission at 402 nm and 510 nm (absent in nano ZnS) which are compared with earlier investigations and discussed. The efficiency of dye sensitized nanocrystalline ZnS solar cell was found to be 0.09 % (Eosin Yellowish Dye) and 0.016 % (Methyl Blue dye). The efficiency of
dye sensitized CdS was found to be 0.06 % and this makes it possible for improved efficiency.

Online Shopping In The UK
This paper will contribute to current academic literature in the area of online retailing and consumer behaviour. Our research outlines a survey conducted with respondents from the UK to ascertain their attitudes to grocery shopping both off and online. The findings indicate that, whilst the vast majority of our sample has experience of online shopping, few actively engage in online grocery shopping. Some of the reasons for this are highlighted and the key issues relate to consumer trust and confidence in both online and offline aspects of the service. If these issues are addressed, it is proposed that more people would be encouraged to shop for groceries online
Hydrodynamic coupling between two fluid membranes
The coupled in-plane diffusion dynamics between point-particles embedded in
stacked fluid membranes are investigated. We calculate the contributions to the
coupling longitudinal and transverse diffusion coefficients due to particle
motion within the different as well as the same membranes. The stacked geometry
leads to a hydrodynamic coupling between the two membranes.Comment: 9 Pages, 5 figures. Accepted for publication in J. Phys.: Condens.

Effect of Inoculum Age, Carbon and Nitrogen Sources on the Production of Lipase by Candida Cylindracea 2031 in Batch Fermentation
Production of extracellular lipase by Candida cylindracea DSMZ 2031 was studied in a seven liters batch bioreactor, using palm oil (PO), palmitic acid (PA), lauric acid (LA), olive oil (OO) and cooking oil (CO) as carbon source. The effect of carbon and nitrogen sources were studied by measuring the lipase activity. The maximum lipase activity was found to be 12.7 kLU on palm oil as carbon source, urea as nitrogen sources and at 36 h inoculum age. This was achieved at a temperature of 30o C, pH of 6.0, agitation speed of 500 rpm and aeration of 1vvm
Device Free Localisation Techniques in Indoor Environments
The location estimation of a target for a long period was performed only by device based localisation technique which is difficult in applications where target especially human is non-cooperative. A target was detected by equipping a device using global positioning systems, radio frequency systems, ultrasonic frequency systems, etc. Device free localisation (DFL) is an upcoming technology in automated localisation in which target need not equip any device for identifying its position by the user. For achieving this objective, the wireless sensor network is a better choice due to its growing popularity. This paper describes the possible categorisation of recently developed DFL techniques using wireless sensor network. The scope of each category of techniques is analysed by comparing their potential benefits and drawbacks. Finally, future scope and research directions in this field are also summarised
