    A new mechanism for neutrino mass

    A mechanism for generating massive but naturally light Dirac neutrinos is proposed. It involves composite Higgs within the standard model as well as some new interaction beyond the standard model.     M\"{o}ller and Bhabha scattering in the noncommutative standard model

    We study the M\"{o}ller and Bhabha scattering in the noncommutative extension of the standard model(SM) using the Seiberg-Witten maps of this to first order of the noncommutative parameter θμν\theta_{\mu \nu}. We look at the angular distribution dσ/dΩd\sigma/d\Omega to explore the noncommutativity of space-time at around ΛNC∼\Lambda_{NC} \sim TeV and find that the distribution deviates significantly from the one obtained from the commutative version of the standard model.Comment: 15 pages, 14 eps figures.Text is modified a little and version to appear in Phys.Rev.

    Structural Stability and Level Density of Hot Rotating Doubly Magic Isotopes of Calcium

    The recently reported doubly-magic nuclei 52Ca and 54Ca are discussed in comparison with the other magic isotopes of Calcium. the temperature effect is included in this study and hence the statistical approach to obtain the particle emission and level density are discussed in the context of temperature effect. We predict an increase in neutron emission for 54Ca due to the abrupt decrease in neutron separation energy around t=0.4MeV. Since the drop in the separation energy is closely associated with the structural changes in the rotating nuclei, relative increase in neutron emission probability around certain values of temperature may be construed as evidence for the shape transition. Such effects are not obtained for 40,48,52Ca isotopes. hence this statistical study reveals the higher stability of magic nature of 52Ca than 54Ca, against temperature

    Utilization of Jamun Fruit (Syzygium Cumini) for Production of Red Wine

    Jamun (Syzygium cumini) fruit was utilized for the production of red wine which is offering a lot of health benefits by acting as an effective medicine. The alcohol content of wine varied from 6.62 to 10.25 depending upon the variable concentration of total soluble sugars (7.88 to 10.53%) and varying levels of yeast (5, 10, 15 and 20%). Saccharomyces cerevisiae was used in the process of fermentation. The wine that had 8.22% alcohol obtained by fermentation with 10% yeast level, 8.18% TSS (Treatment T2) was considered to be the best acceptable when compared with others (T1, T3 and T4 Treatments). This wine was found to be the best by the panel members with respect to colour, taste, astringency and flavour. The wine that had 6.62% alcohol obtained by fermentation with 5% yeast level, 7.88% TSS was considered to be the least preferred and less acceptable when compared with others. No significant changes were observed in colour and clarity of wine obtained with 5% addition of yeast. However, with 5% addition of yeast, the taste, flavor and astringency attributes of wine were the least preferred when compared with others. The highest test score for taste, flavour and astringency properties was obtained for Treatment (T2). The time required for fermentation was 7 days at 28 ± 20C. The wine obtained with 15% (9.16% alcohol content) and 20% (10.25% alcohol content) yeast levels were found to have moderately acceptable scores

    Reunion of Vicious Walkers: Results from ϵ\epsilon-Expansion -

    The anomalous exponent, ηp\eta_{p}, for the decay of the reunion probability of pp vicious walkers, each of length NN, in dd (=2−ϵ)(=2-\epsilon) dimensions, is shown to come from the multiplicative renormalization constant of a pp directed polymer partition function. Using renormalization group(RG) we evaluate ηp\eta_{p} to O(ϵ2)O(\epsilon^2). The survival probability exponent is ηp/2\eta_{p}/2. For p=2p=2, our RG is exact and ηp\eta_p stops at O(ϵ)O(\epsilon). For d=2d=2, the log corrections are also determined.     Optimal process for the extraction and identification of flavonoids from the leaves of Polyalthia longifolia using L16 Orthogonal design of experiment

    The study has been carried out to investigate the effects of single factors such as temperature, extraction time, concentration of ethanol, material ratio and no. of extractions on the contents of flavonoids present in the leaves of Polyalthia longifolia. On this basis, an L16 orthogonal design of experiment was used to determine the optimal conditions for the extraction of flavonoids. The amount of flavonoids extracted reached its maxima at 65 ºC for 2 hrs by using 75% ethanol (modifier) with a material ratio of 1:10 and 2 times ofextraction.
