station, Raichur (Karnataka), with a daily FA production of 7000 tons. From the
available elemental data analysis, further investigations on the electrical
resistivity behaviour of Circularly shaped disc of FA have been carried out in
the temperature range 100-600°C. It has been observed that resistivity is
gradually decreasing with the increase of temperature. The electrical
conductivity and activation energies have been estimated. The possible
conductivity mechanism is discussed .</span
Nutrition in burns: A practical solution to a difficult problem
The nutritional aspects of burns is an important but yet not properly looked after problem in the management of burns. We present our experience with dealing with such a problem giving a practical and easy to deliver solution to nutrition. Early enteral nutrition should be started with frequent assessment to the need of the patient and it requires a team approach
Dumb – Bell Shape Penis
An unusual complication following religious circumcision resulting in urethral fistula is reported
Case Report - Proboscis lateralis- A 17 years follow-up, a case report
Proboscis lateralis is a rare congenital anomaly for which no
embryological basis has been established. Besides heminasal aplasia or
hypoplasia, various other craniofacial anomalies are also associated
with it. It is only uncommonly free of other anomalies. Evaluation of a
patient should include CT scan examination to look for growth of facial
and skull bones. Reconstruction should start at an early age. Proboscis
itself is the best option for heminose formation. Cartilaginous or bony
support can be planned later in the late teens to give good aesthetic
result
Case Report- Unusual presentation of firework injury causing intraoral burns
Fireworks are commonly used in celebrate festive occasions. We present
a case of an unusual presentation of intraoral firework injury, which
is a very rare case. A fifteen year old boy kept four explosive
papercaps wrapped in a small polythene bags in between his left molars
and crushed them. This resulted in a contused lacerated wound over the
left buccal mucosa. Patient was treated conservatively with maintenance
of intraoral hygiene, antibiotics, proteolytic enzymes and analgesics.
It took 18 days for complete healing of the wound
Post-traumatic posterior heel soft tissue defect reconstruction
We present a simple algorithm for management of post-traumatic
posterior heel defect. We covered these with various flaps depending
upon the defect size, its exact location, associated injuries, extent
of zone of trauma, and complexity of the defect. The aim was to select
the most suitable method for soft tissue coverage for posterior heel
reconstruction
