    An experiment was done to compare the antioxidant activity of methanolic extract of tobacco leaves and rutin. This experiment was conducted by extracting methanolic extract of tobacco leaves with soxhletation method with methanol and measuring the absorbance of DPPH using spectrofotometry UV- Vis in λ 517 nm. The obtained data was analized by t-test with the confidence level 95%. The result showed that methanolic extract of tobacco leaves extract and rutin have the different of antioxidant activity.     Identifikasi Melamin Dalam Susu Impor Yang Beredar Di Swalayan Brebes Dengan Metode Kromatografi Cair Kinerja Tinggi

    Identification of melamine in import milk by HPLC (High Performance Liquid) method had been done. The system of HPLC is reversed phase which stationary phase colomn shimpack oktadesilsilina and the mobile phase is acetonitrile:water (50:50), as flow rate 1.0 mL/menit, detection wavelength was 240 nm. Indicated a linear correlation between the peak area versus concentration from 2-10 µg/mL with correlation coefficient (r) = 0.9988 and got the equation of regretion Y = 0.3771 X + 0.0151, with LOD = 0.5194 µg/mL and LOQ = 1.7356 µg/mL. Precision test concentration 6 µg/mL give variation coefficient (CV) = 4.263% and the precision of instrument 99.957%. The recovery test standart 4, 6, 8 µg/mL indicated the average 98.23 %. The result presents that sample I, II, III dan IV distributed in Brebes does not contain the melamine. Keywords : HPLC, Melamine, import milk

    Timbal (Pb) adalah zat xenobiotik yang asing bagi tubuh, dapat menyebabkan berbagai masalah kesehatan timbal biasa digunakan dalam formulasi cat dan mainan anak-anak. Selain itu timbal juga digunakan di berbagai industri seperti industri baterai, paduan logam (alloy), sarung kabel, amunisi, tinta cetak, zat warna/pigmen, stabilisator pada plastik polivinil klorida, keramik dan gelas kristal Telah dilakukan penelitian kandungan cemaran timbal pada mainan gigitan bayi (teether) yang beredar di daerah Purwokerto, dengan metode spektrofotomeri serapan atom. Dekstruksi yang digunakan adalah dengan dekstruksi basah mengunakan campuran H2SO4 dan HNO3. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan metode simple random sampling . Dari validasi metode diperoleh nilai r = 0,995, RSD = 1,904 %, LOD = 0,32 ppm, LOQ = 1,09 ppm dan nilai recovery = 121,45 ±5,60 %.
