Pótlåsok Magyarorszåg edényes növényfajainak elterjedési atlaszåhoz V.
Jelen közlemĂ©nyĂŒnk annak a sorozatnak az ötödik rĂ©sze, melynek cĂ©lja a MagyarorÂszĂĄg edĂ©nyes növĂ©nyfajainak elterjedĂ©si atlasza tĂ©rkĂ©peinek kiegĂ©szĂtĂ©se, fĆkĂ©nt aktuĂĄlis elĆfordulĂĄsi adatokkal. A dolgozat 66 kvadrĂĄtban 360 edĂ©nyes taxon elterjedĂ©si adatait pontosĂtja. Az adatok többÂsĂ©ge a DĂ©l-DunĂĄntĂșlrĂłl szĂĄrmazik, ahol 6 kvadrĂĄt a szisztematikus felmĂ©rĂ©seknek köszönhetĆen 30-nĂĄl is több fajjal egĂ©szĂŒlt ki. A felsorolt taxonok döntĆ rĂ©sze gyakori, sokszor gyom jellegƱ elem, nĂ©hĂĄnyuk azonban hazĂĄnkban ritka (pl. Anchusa azurea, Centunculus minimus, Euphorbia stricta, Hypericum humifusum, Sagina apetala), olykor vĂ©dett növĂ©ny (pl. Asplenium adiantum-nigrum, Dryopteris affinis, Festuca dalmatica, Gymnocarpium dryopteris, Urtica kioviensis).</jats:p
Effect of cage and pen housing on the live performance, carcase, and meat quality traits of growing rabbits
The aim of the experiment was to study the effect of housing growing rabbits in enriched cages with small groups (eight rabbits/cage, C; nâ=â96; stocking density: 15 rabbits/m2) or in enriched pens with large groups (65 rabbits/pen, P; nâ=â130; stocking density: 15 rabbits/m2) on their growth performance and on slaughter and meat quality traits. The C rabbits showed higher final body weight (2540 vs. 2443âg, pâ<â.01), better feed conversion ratio (5â11 weeks: 3.39 vs. 3.61, pâ<â.05), lower mortality rate (5.2 vs. 31.5%, pâ<â.001), and lower fecal corticosterone level (26.3 vs. 29.4ânmol/g, pâ<â.05) compared to P rabbits. The increased possibility of physical activity of P compared to C rabbits resulted in more developed hind part of the reference carcase, thicker hind leg bones (34.8 vs. 33.4âg, pâ<â.05), lower perirenal fat (15.1 vs. 20.8âg, pâ<â.001) and hind leg meat lipid content (2.00 vs. 2.42%, pâ<â.05), as well as higher haem iron content of the hind leg meat (5.29 vs. 4.22âmg/kg, pâ<â.01). However, pen housing was detrimental for the dressing out percentage and for the hind leg meat to bones ratio. Physical meat quality traits were not affected by the housing system.Highlights Housing of growing rabbits in large cages and large pens was compared. Caged rabbits had better productive performance, lower mortality and stress. Penned rabbits resulted in lower dressing out percentage, carcase adiposity and meat lipids content. Most of the meat quality traits were independent of the housing system
DYNLL2 dynein light chain binds to an extended linear motif of myosin 5a tail that has structural plasticity
LC8 dynein light chains (DYNLL) are conserved homodimeric eukaryotic hub proteins that participate in diverse cellular processes. Among the binding partners of DYNLL2, myosin 5a (myo5a) is a motor protein involved in cargo transport. Here we provide a profound characterization of the DYNLL2 binding motif of myo5a in free and DYNLL2 bound form by using NMR spectroscopy, X-ray crystallography and molecular dynamics simulations. In the free form the DYNLL2 binding region, located in an intrinsically disordered domain of the myo5a tail, has a nascent helical character. The motif becomes structured and folds into a ÎČ-strand upon binding to DYNLL2. Despite all differences of the myo5a sequence from the consensus binding motif, it accommodates into the same DYNLL2 binding groove as all other partners do. Interestingly, while the core motif shows similar interaction pattern in the binding groove as seen in other complexes, the flanking residues make several additional contacts, thereby lengthening the binding motif. The N-terminal extension folds back and partially blocks the free edge of the ÎČ-sheet formed by the binding motif itself. The C-terminal extension contacts the dimer interface and interacts with symmetry related residues of the second myo5a peptide. The involvement of flanking residues of the core binding site of myo5a could modify the quaternary structure of the full-length myo5a and affect its biological functions. The presented structural data widen our understanding of the diverse partner recognition of DYNLL proteins and provide an example of a Janus-faced linear motif.
