Sintering and densification of nanocrystalline ceramic oxide powders: a review

    Get PDF
Observation of the unconventional properties and material behaviour expected in the nanometre grain size range necessitates the fabrication of fully dense bulk nanostructured ceramics. This is achieved by the application of ceramic nanoparticles and suitable densification conditions, both for the green and sintered compacts. Various sintering and densification strategies were adopted, including pressureless sintering, hot pressing, hot isostatic pressing, microwave sintering, sinter forging, and spark plasma sintering. The theoretical aspects and characteristics of these processing techniques, in conjunction with densification mechanisms in the nanocrystalline oxides, were discussed. Spherical nanoparticles with narrow size distribution are crucial to obtain homogeneous density and low pore-to-particle-size ratio in the green compacts, and to preserve the nanograin size at full densification. High applied pressure is beneficial via the densification mechanisms of nanoparticle rearrangement and sliding, plastic deformation, and pore shrinkage. Low temperature mass transport by surface diffusion during the spark plasma sintering of nanoparticles can lead to rapid densification kinetics with negligible grain growth

Nation-building and character development has been became the commitment of the founding fathers of Indonesia since homeland standing. Given the Pancasila philosophy is basic and the nation, the Pancasila is the basic reference for building a nation of character. In this journey, the effort going tides. Therefore, the educational character of the conservation- minded social values are very important. Character is formed due to the repetitive actions that it becomes a habit that internalization in man's life. Conservation has meaning preservation, restoration, reconstruction, adaptation and rehabilitation of not only physical but also social values. Conservation social values is an effort to preserve, conserve, and refused to accept a set of values embraced the community of what constitutes good and bad. Social value can be identified by observing and social values based on characteristics such as social interaction, transformation, the process of learning, fulfillment, diversity, acceptance, influencet and assumptions. Studying social values would be very beneficial if the value is applied in everyday life

This study is intended to test and analyze the intellectual ability, individual learning and internal locus of control to the competence and performance of Lecturers of Economics Faculties of the Accredited “B” Private Universities in Surabaya. This study is classified as the type of research on population. Population of research covers the whole permanent lecturers of the Economics Faculties of the Accredited “B” Private Universities in Surabaya, with 100 respondents as the research samples. The samples for this research are taken proportionally by using the proportional stratified random sampling technique, whereas data of the research are analyzed by using Structural Equation Modeling / SEM) with the help of computer application program of AMOS 18.0 Version. Outputs of these findings indicate that the variables of intellectual ability, individual learning and internal locus of control have direct, significant and positive influence to the performance of lecturers, and also indirect, significant and positive influence to the competence; whereas the competence has direct, significant and positive influence to the performance of the lecturers. Thus, they are complex. Outputs of this finding combine or integrate variables of empirical findings from several researchers, so that the empirical findings on relation among variables are integrated into one complete model. These findings indicate that in order to improve performance of the lecturers can be carried out through the trias academica (three services of university) as well as its supporting elements. Private Universities are suggested to improve the lecturers\u27 competence through pedagogical competence, personality, social and professional competence so that they can improve their performance through the inter-related programs of study. Key Words: Intellectual ability, individual learning, internal locus of control, competence and performance of lecturers

Analisis Keterbukaan Ekonomi Dan Ekspor Di Indonesia: Studi Empiris Pada Dampak Covid-19 Dan Peperangan Rusia-Ukraina

Global economic uncertainty due to the Covid-19 pandemic and the Russia-Ukraine war has had an impact on the supply chain of goods and services. In the midst of global economic turmoil, Indonesia's trade performance has had a positive average trade balance in the last 5 years. This study examines the impact of economic conditions on trade openness and exports in Indonesia, and assesses the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic and the Russia-Ukraine War. The research method used is ARDL to to examine the short-run and long-run effects of variables using monthly data from 2017 to 2022. The findings show that the Inflation variable has a positive impact on trade openness and exports in Indonesia, this contradiction with Romer's hypothesis and implies that the possibility of Indonesia's international trade is in line with the approach of the Ricardian model. The addition of Covid-19 cases has a negative impact on trade openness, while the pandemic period has a positive impact on exports. The variables of the Russia-Ukraine war have a negative but not significant impact. Policy recommendations are to maintain domestic productivity in order to maintain the needs of goods and services, as well as domestic and foreign supply chain

Soil Quality Assessment in Relation to Food Crop Productivity to Support Agribusiness-Based of Dry Land Management by Scoring of Soil Quality

    Get PDF
To support Indonesian’s food self-sufficiency program, more quantitative and accurate data are required on the character of soil data needed, which can be more easily understood, practical and suitable for crop selection as well as for the right fertilizer recommendations to support the agribusiness development, implementation and operation. The purpose of this research is to develop and assess soil quality in relation to the productivity of major food crops by using Soil Quality Score Plus (SQS Plus) to support agribusiness-based management of dry lands. The use of SQS for assessing soil quality in principle determines the weighted average score obtained from the score of each selected key parameter multiplied by its weight. The SQS for the 36 locations observed varies from 2.36 (low) to 4.12 (high). SQS Plus adds letter(s) after a score to indicate the limiting factor(s) of soil ecosystem. The most limiting factor is low carbon organic content (72.2 % from the 36 locations observed), followed by low P availability (58.3%), and low total organic N (41.7%). Data of correlation between SQS and crop productivity is not good as expected.  Crop growth and crop production are not only determined by soil quality and its limiting factors.   Keywords: Crop productivity, dry land management, soil limiting factors, soil quality assessment, Soil Quality Scor

Analysis of money supply Indonesia: The vector autoregression model approach

Endogenous money is a major component of the Post Keynesian economy. This refers to the theory that the existence of money in an economy is driven by real economic upheaval. In this study examines the effect of macroeconomic variables on the amount of money in circulation in Indonesia during the period of global economic recession in 2008 and 2016. The analytical tool used was the Vector Autoregression (VAR) in the period January 2006 - July 2016. From the results of the study, that the variable Amount Money Supply, BI Rate, Exchange Rates, Government Revenues and Inflation have a long-term cointegration relationship. VAR estimation results in the short run show that M2 and BI Rate have a positive effect on M2 movement, Government Revenues and Inflation have a negative effect on M2

Sheep fattening farms have been recently growing rapidly to produce better quality of sheep meat and fullfill consumer's demand. Sheep fattening and breeding farms should be developed proportionally to obtain sustainable sheep flock in the market. Twelve male lambs (less than one year old) were selected based on their average daily gain (ADG), consisting into two groups: 6 fast growing (FG) and 6 slow growing (SG) sheep. Some morphometric parameters in body and head parts of sheep and their carcass production and composition were measured and compared between the groups. The results show that chest circumference, body height, body length, head length and muzzle, top and bottom neck circumferences of FG sheep were significantly higher than in SG sheep (P0.05). It is concluded that selection of fast growing sheep can be recommended by using some morphometric parameters. The selection would not also negatively affect the weight and percentage of carcass composition
