Towards a Semantic Gas Source Localization under Uncertainty.Communications in Computer and Information Science book series (CCIS, volume 855), doi:10.1007/978-3-319-91479-4_42This work addresses the problem of efficiently and coherently
locating a gas source in a domestic environment with a mobile
robot, meaning efficiently the coverage of the shortest distance as possible
and coherently the consideration of different gas sources explaining
the gas presence. The main contribution is the exploitation, for the
first time, of semantic relationships between the gases detected and the
objects present in the environment to face this challenging issue. Our
proposal also takes into account both the uncertainty inherent in the
gas classification and object recognition processes. These uncertainties
are combined through a probabilistic Bayesian framework to provide a
priority-ordered list of (previously observed) objects to check. Moreover
the proximity of the different candidates to the current robot location
is also considered by a cost function, which output is used for planning
the robot inspection path. We have conducted an initial demonstration
of the suitability of our gas source localization approach by simulating
this task within domestic environments for a variable number of objects,

Integrable Kondo impurity in one-dimensional q-deformed models
Integrable Kondo impurities in two cases of the one-dimensional q-deformed
models are studied by means of the boundary -graded quantum
inverse scattering method. The boundary matrices depending on the local
magnetic moments of the impurities are presented as nontrivial realizations of
the reflection equation algebras in an impurity Hilbert space. Furthermore,
these models are solved by using the algebraic Bethe ansatz method and the

Magnetic hour-glass dispersion and its relation to high-temperature superconductivity in iron-tuned FeTeSe
High-temperature superconductivity remains arguably the largest outstanding
enigma of condensed matter physics. The discovery of iron-based
high-temperature superconductors has renewed the importance of understanding
superconductivity in materials susceptible to magnetic order and fluctuations.
Intriguingly they show magnetic fluctuations reminiscent of the superconducting
(SC) cuprates, including a 'resonance' and an 'hour-glass' shaped dispersion,
which provide an opportunity to new insight to the coupling between spin
fluctuations and superconductivity. Here we report inelastic neutron scattering
data on FeTeSe using excess iron concentration to tune
between a SC () and a non-SC () ground states. We find
incommensurate spectra in both samples but discover that in the one that
becomes SC, a constriction towards a commensurate hourglass shape develop well
above . Conversely a spin-gap and concomitant spectral weight shift happen
below . Our results imply that the hourglass shaped dispersion is most
likely a pre-requisite for superconductivity, whereas the spin-gap and shift of
spectral weight are consequences of superconductivity. We explain this
observation by pointing out that an inwards dispersion towards the commensurate
wave-vector is needed for the opening of a spin gap to lower the magnetic
exchange energy and hence provide the necessary condensation energy for the SC
state to emerge
The current population of benchmark brown dwarfs
The number of brown dwarfs (BDs) now identified tops 700. Yet our
understanding of these cool objects is still lacking, and models are struggling
to accurately reproduce observations. What is needed is a method of calibrating
the models, BDs whose properties (e.g. age, mass, distance, metallicity) that
can be independently determined can provide such calibration. The ability to
calculate properties based on observables is set to be of vital importance if
we are to be able to measure the properties of fainter, more distant
populations of BDs that near-future surveys will reveal, for which ground based
spectroscopic studies will become increasingly difficult. We present here the

Safety and Security Co-engineering and Argumentation Framework
Automotive systems become increasingly complex due to their functional range and data exchange with the outside world. Until now, functional safety of such safety-critical electrical/electronic systems has been covered successfully. However, the data exchange requires interconnection across trusted boundaries of the vehicle. This leads to security issues like hacking and malicious attacks against interfaces, which could bring up new types of safety issues. Before mass-production of automotive systems, arguments supported by evidences are required regarding safety and security. Product engineering must be compliant to specific standards and must support arguments that the system is free of unreasonable risks.
This paper shows a safety and security co-engineering framework, which covers standard compliant process derivation and management, and supports product specific safety and security co-analysis. Furthermore, we investigate process- and product-related argumentation and apply the approach to an automotive use case regarding safety and security.This work is supported by the projects EMC2 and AMASS. On the variability of HD 170699 - a possible COROT target
We present the analysis of the variability of HD 170699, a COROT star showing
the characteristics of a non evolutionary Delta Scuti star with high rotational
velocity. There is a clear period of 10.45 c/d with 5.29 mmag amplitude in the
y filter. From the data, it can be seen that the star shows multi-periodicity
