The development of children with disabilities by means of folk plays
© 2015, Review of European Studies. All right reserved. Every child with disabilities is unique both according to the state and the rate of development, therefore early correctional help is a means aimed to form those skills and abilities which the child is ready to perceive at the time; the help should be individualized as much as possible. Thus it is necessary to provide maximum opportunities for the child’s development. Purposeful, laborious and patient work is required. Teachers should have a clear idea of how and what to teach the child, how to treat the child’s behavior and difficulties during lessons, how to consider the child’s abilities, to smooth the peculiarities of the child’s state caused by disease. The article deals with the relevance of the problem, using play therapy with children with disabilities in psychological, educational, social and philosophical literature, the study of the problem in Russia, research methodology and experimental study on the issue. The results of pedagogical experiment allow to come to the conclusion about the effectiveness of the developed program which consist of different folk plays
The Effect of Flax Oil Cake on the Structural and Rheological - Properties of Pasta
This article discusses the qualitative indicators of pasta products obtained by partially replacing high-quality wheat powder with flaxseed cake. This is due to the fact that flaxseed cake has a high energy value, is rich in essential protein, macro-, microelements and vitamins, fats remaining in flaxseed cake after fat extraction have all useful properties, contain alpha-linolenic (omega-3) fatty acid, as well as other unsaturated fatty acids. After the procedure of "pressing" of raw materials, organoleptic and Physico-chemical parameters were considered, the indicator of shape preservation after the "cooking" process was determined. Quality indicators of GOST 31743-2017 "Pasta. General technical conditions", GOST 31964-2012 "Pasta. Acceptance rules and methods for determining quality", GOST 10974-95 "Flax cake. Technical conditions" are defined in accordance with regulatory and technical documents. The enrichment of pasta with flax cake improves the biological, nutritional properties of the product and allows you to replace high-quality wheat flour with economic raw materials. The results of the study obtained by quality indicators meet the established requirements. The moisture content of pasta when replacing premium wheat powder by 3.8%, 7.7% and 15.5% with flax cake is 28% (after the procedure of "pressing raw materials"). The use of flax cake as a raw material reduces the cooking time of pasta, ensures that the mold after cooking will meet the requirements and will not stick together
Parkinson's Disease in Central Asian and Transcaucasian Countries: A Review of Epidemiology, Genetics, Clinical Characteristics, and Access to Care
Our understanding of Parkinson’s disease (PD) has significantly accelerated over the last few years, but predominant advances have been made in developed, Western countries. Little is known about PD in the Central Asian (CA) and Transcaucasian (TC) countries. Here, we review the clinical characteristics, treatments used, epidemiology, and genetics of PD in CA and TC countries via a methodological search in MEDLINE, EMBASE, Scopus, Web of Science, and Google Scholar databases. For the acquisition of PD care-related data, the search was extended to the local web resources. Our findings showed that PD prevalence in the region is averaging 62 per 100,000 population. The mean age of onset is 56.4 ± 2.8 in females and 63.3 ± 3.5 in males. Large-scale national studies on PD prevalence from the region are currently lacking. A limited number of genetic studies with small cohorts and inconclusive results were identified. The G2019S LRRK2 mutation, the commonest mutation in PD worldwide, was found in 5.7% of patients with idiopathic PD and 17.6% of familial cases in 153 Uzbek patients. Our review highlighted systematic deficiencies in PD health care in the region including lacks of neurologists specializing in PD, delays in PD diagnosis, absence of specialized PD nurses and PD rehab services, limited access to PD medications and surgery, and the unavailability of PD infusion therapies. Overall, this article demonstrated the paucity of data on this common neurological disorder in CA and TC countries and identified a number of healthcare areas that require an urgent consideration. We conclude that well-designed large-scale epidemiological, genetic, and clinical studies are desperately needed in this region. Healthcare professionals, local and national institutions, and stakeholders must come together to address deficiencies in PD healthcare systems in CA and TC countries
The effectiveness of active medical rehabilitation technologies among Paralympians engaged in playing sports
The purpose of the study: to study the effectiveness of active medical rehabilitation technologies among Paralympians engaged in playing sports.Materials and methods: examined 48 male patients aged 25.9 ± 2.1 years with traumatic disease of the lumbar spinal cord. All examined were divided into 2 groups: patients of the main group (19 people) against the background of standard therapy received a course of active medical rehabilitation (AMR), including mechanotherapy and electrical stimulation with biofeedback under the control of electromyography (EMG) of the muscles of the lower extremities and back. Patients in the comparison group (29 people) received standard therapy. After the AMR course, a comprehensive examination was performed, including the data of the questionnaires: the ASIA classification (American Spinal Injury Association), the FIM (Functional Independence Measure) scale of functional independence, the modified functional assessment scale of activity and quality of life VFM (Valutazione Funzionale Mielolesi), State-Trait Anxiety Inventory, the Beck depression scale; electroneurophysiological studies on the Neurosoft Neuro-EMG-Micro device, heart rate variability (HRV) on the Neurosoft Poly-Spectrum computer electrocardiograph, indicators of free movement with concentric and eccentric muscle contractions on EN-TreeM.Results: polysympathetic reflex excitability (PRV) significantly decreased in patients of the main group. There was also an improvement in vegetative reactivity (coefficient 30/15 is 1.45; p <0.001) during the orthostatic test, indicating normalization of parasympathetic regulation and heart rate. The assessment on the ASIA scale revealed an improvement in sensory function by 13.4 % and motor function by 17.4 %. On the VFM scale, an increase in indicators was observed by 14.7 % and on the FIM scale by 11.5 %. When assessing the psycho-emotional sphere on the Spielberger-Khanin scale, a significant decrease in the level of reactive anxiety was noted by 10.9 %, and the level of depression by 30.5 %. A significant increase in muscle strength by 18.1 % (p < 0.001) was also observed during concentric contractions, the average power increased by 83.1 % (p < 0.001), the average amplitude increased by 68.7 % (p < 0.001), the average speed by 27.2 % (p=0.002). When analyzing the indicators after the treatment, significant differences were obtained between the main and the comparison group (p < 0.001).Conclusion: the use of biofeedback technologies under the control of electromyography leads to an increase in the effectiveness of medical rehabilitation and improves the quality of life in Paralympians with traumatic spinal cord disease
A glimpse of the genetics of young-onset Parkinson's disease in Central Asia
Background: Knowledge of the genetic background of many human diseases is currently lacking from genetically undiscovered regions, including Central Asia. Kazakhstan is the first Central Asian country where the genetic studies of Parkinson's disease (PD) have been emerging since it had become a member of the International Parkinson Disease Genomics Consortium. Here we report on the results of whole‐exome sequencing (WES) in 50 young‐onset PD (YOPD) cases from Kazakhstan. / Methodology: WES was performed on 50 unrelated individuals with YOPD from Kazakhstan. Exome data were screened for novel/ultra‐rare deleterious variants in known and candidate PD genes. Copy number variants and small indels were also called. / Results: Only three cases (6%) were found to be positive for known PD genes including two unrelated familial PD cases with LRRK2 p.(Arg1441Cys) and one case with a homozygous pathogenic PRKN p.(Arg84Trp) variant. Four cases had novel and ultra‐rare variants of uncertain significance in LRRK2, DNAJC13, and VPS35. Novel deleterious variants were found in candidate Mendelian PD genes including CSMD1, TNR, EIF4G1, and ATP13A3. Eight cases harbored the East Asian‐specific LRRK2 p.(Ala419Val) variant.
Conclusions
The low diagnostic yield in our study might imply that a significant proportion of YOPD cases in Central Asia remains unresolved. Therefore, a better understanding of the genetic architecture of PD among populations of Central Asian ancestry and the pathogenicity of numerous rare variants should be further investigated. WES is a valuable technique for large‐scale YOPD genetic studies in Central Asia
Seasonal changes of free-radical initiated processes in cyprinids from the middle Volga river basin
The purpose of this research was to study the free radical induced lipid oxidation in the commonest fish species inhabiting the Volga river, in the Middle Volga region of the Russian Federation, de-pending on the seasons of the year. The commonest fish species in the Volga river basin: European carp Cyprinus carpio (L., 1758), sabrefish Pelecus cultratus (L., 1758), common bream Abramis brama (L., 1758), tench Tinca tinca (L., 1758), and common roach Rutilus rutilus (L., 1758) were studied. The level of malondialdehyde and the activity of catalase were investigated in gills, liver, muscles and gonads. The values of molecular oxidative biomarkers in the studied fish species were significantly higher in the summer, suggestinga more active lipid peroxidation. The increase in cata-lase activity in the studied organs may indicate activation of the antioxidant defense system that can positively affect the growth and development of fish
Validation of the Kazakh version of the movement disorder Society-Unified Parkinson's disease rating scale
Background and Purpose: The International Movement Disorder Society revision of the Unified Parkinson's Disease Rating Scale (MDS-UPDRS) is widely used in the assessment of the severity of Parkinson's disease (PD). This study aimed to validate the Kazakh version of the MDS-UPDRS, explore its dimensionality, and compare it to the original English version. Methods: The validation was conducted in three phases: first, the English version of the MDS-UPDRS was translated into Kazakh and thereafter back-translated into English by two independent teams; second, the Kazakh version underwent a cognitive pretesting; third, the Kazakh version was tested in 360 native Kazakh-speaking PD patients. Both confirmatory and exploratory factor analyses were performed to validate the scale. We calculated the comparative fit index (CFI) for confirmatory factor analysis and used unweighted least squares for exploratory factor analysis. Results: The CFI was higher than 0.90 for all parts of the scale, thereby meeting the pre-set threshold for the official designation of a validated translation. Exploratory factor analysis also showed that the Kazakh MDS-UPDRS has the analogous factors structure in each part as the English version. Conclusions: The Kazakh MDS-UPDRS had a consistent overall structure as the English MDS-UPDRS, and it was designated as the official Kazakh MDS-UPDRS, which can reliably be used in the Kazakh-speaking populations. Presently, Kazakhstan stands as the sole country in both Central Asia and Transcaucasia with an MDS-approved translated version of the MDS-UPDRS. We expect that other Central Asian and Transcaucasian countries will embark on the MDS Translation Program for MDS-UPDRS in the near future
