Impact of international organic markets on small U.S. producers
Rapid growth of the organic agricultural sector in the U.S. and implementation of the U.S. Department of Agriculture's national organic standards in 2002 have lead to concerns that organic production could become increasingly concentrated on larger U.S. and international farms, disrupting the market access of small domestic organic producers. However, data on the U.S. organic agriculture show that the smallest-scale farms continue to hold a small but stable piece of the organic sector and that U.S. organic farm size has grown slowly. The amount of land under organic production worldwide is growing rapidly, particularly in developing countries producing commodities for export, many of which are not widely grown in the U.S. Small-scale producers using direct markets have likely been least impacted from increased organic imports, while producers of organic oilseeds and cotton have likely been most impacted. Federal and State government agencies and the private sector have launched initiatives to sustain small-farm participation in the U.S. organic sector. Programs to better serve organic producers in the U.S. and to differentiate organic and non-organic imports and exports are being developed at the federal level.organic agriculture, organic certification, small-scale farmers, international trade, International Relations/Trade,
Reply on `comment on our paper `Single two-level ion in an anharmonic-oscillator trap: Time evolution of the Q function and population inversion ''
We show here that the model Hamiltonian used in our paper for ion vibrating
in a q-analog harmonic oscillator trap and interacting with a classical
single-mode light field is indeed obtained by replacing the usual bosonic
creation and annihilation operators of the harmonic trap model by their
q-deformed counterparts. The approximations made in our paper amount to using
for the ion-laser interaction in a q-analog harmonic oscillator trap, the
operator F_{q}=exp{-(|\epsilon|^2}/2)}exp{i\epsilon A^{\dagger}}exp{i\epsilon
A}, which is analogous to the corresponding operator for ion in a harmonic
oscillator trap that is . In our article we do not claim to have diagonalized the
operator, , for which the basis states
|g,m> and |e,m> are not analytic vectors.Comment: Revtex, 4pages. To be Published in Physical Review A59, NO.4(April

The role of psychometrics in individual differences research in cognition: A case study of the AX-CPT
Investigating individual differences in cognition requires addressing questions not often thought about in standard experimental designs, especially regarding the psychometric properties of the task. Using the AX-CPT cognitive control task as a case study example, we address four concerns that one may encounter when researching the topic of individual differences in cognition. First, we demonstrate the importance of variability in task scores, which in turn directly impacts reliability, particularly when comparing correlations in different populations. Second, we demonstrate the importance of variability and reliability for evaluating potential failures to replicate predicted correlations, even within the same population. Third, we demonstrate how researchers can turn to evaluating psychometric properties as a way of evaluating the feasibility of utilizing the task in new settings (e.g., online administration). Lastly, we show how the examination of psychometric properties can help researchers make informed decisions when designing a study, such as determining the appropriate number of trials for a task
Development of an integrated cognitive behavioral therapy for anxiety and opioid use disorder: Study protocol and methods
Opioid use disorder is a highly disabling psychiatric disorder, and is associated with both significant functional disruption and risk for negative health outcomes such as infectious disease and fatal overdose. Even among those who receive evidence-based pharmacotherapy for opioid use disorder, many drop out of treatment or relapse, highlighting the importance of novel treatment strategies for this population. Over 60% of those with opioid use disorder also meet diagnostic criteria for an anxiety disorder; however, efficacious treatments for this common co-occurrence have not be established. This manuscript describes the rationale and methods for a behavioral treatment development study designed to develop and test an integrated cognitive-behavioral therapy for those with co-occurring opioid use disorder and anxiety disorders. The aims of the study are (1) to develop and pilot test a new manualized cognitive behavioral therapy for co-occurring opioid use disorder and anxiety disorders, (2) to test the efficacy of this treatment relative to an active comparison treatment that targets opioid use disorder alone, and (3) to investigate the role of stress reactivity in both prognosis and recovery from opioid use disorder and anxiety disorders. Our overarching aim is to investigate whether this new treatment improves both anxiety and opioid use disorder outcomes relative to standard treatment. Identifying optimal treatment strategies for this population are needed to improve outcomes among those with this highly disabling and life-threatening disorder. This study was funded by NIDA grant DA035297. The BCS theory of q-deformed nucleon pairs - qBCS
We construct a coherent state of q-deformed zero coupled nucleon pairs
distributed in several single-particle orbits. Using a variational approach,
the set of equations of qBCS theory, to be solved self consistently for
occupation probabilities, gap parameter Delta, and the chemical potential
lambda, is obtained. Results for valence nucleons in nuclear degenerate sdg
major shell show that the strongly coupled zero angular momentum nucleon pairs
can be substituted by weakly coupled q-deformed zero angular momentum nucleon
pairs. A study of Sn isotopes reveals a well defined universe of (G, q) values,
for which qBCS converges. While the qBCS and BCS show similar results for Gap
parameter Delta in Sn isotopes, the ground state energies are lower in qBCS.
The pairing correlations in N nucleon system, increase with increasing q (for q
real).Comment: 8 pages, REVTEX, 3 eps figure

Pengaruh Ukuran Perusahaan, Profitabilitas, Likuiditas dan Struktur Aktifa terhadap Struktur Modal Perusahaan Manufaktur Go Publik (Studi Sektor Kosmetik dan Keperluan Rumah Tangga)
The purpose of this study was to investigate the firm size, profitability, liquidity and asset structure to the capital manufacturing companies. This study focused on Cosmetic and Household use sector companies listed in Bursa Efek Indonesia for period 2010-2015. The data used in this research is secondary data, financial highlights (annual report) and performance summary. This study used purposive sampling method in order to collect the sample. Analysis of data using multiple linear regression analysis with SPSS 19.The result of this research indicates that firm size, profitability, liquidity and asset structure simultaneously significantly influence to capital structure. The values that have been adjusted coefficient of determination (adjusted R-square) for 87,6% can be concluded that factors, while the remaining amount of 12,4% influenced by other variables that are not included in this study, for example earning stability, operating leverage, growth opportunity and tax
