Nonlinear envelope equation for broadband optical pulses in quadratic media
We derive a nonlinear envelope equation to describe the propagation of
broadband optical pulses in second order nonlinear materials. The equation is
first order in the propagation coordinate and is valid for arbitrarily wide
pulse bandwidth. Our approach goes beyond the usual coupled wave description of
phenomena and provides an accurate modelling of the evolution of
ultra-broadband pulses also when the separation into different coupled
frequency components is not possible or not profitable

beclometasone dipropionate (BDP) and formoterol fumarate (FF) via
pressurized metered dose inhaler (pMDI) containing 50mg of BDP and 6mg
of FF per actuation (CHF1535) was developed by Chiesi Farmaceutici
S.p.A. (Parma, Italy)
Spatial beam self-cleaning in second-harmonic generation
We experimentally demonstrate the spatial self-cleaning of a highly multimode optical beam, in the process of second-harmonic generation in a quadratic nonlinear potassium titanyl phosphate crystal. As the beam energy grows larger, the output beam from the crystal evolves from a highly speckled intensity pattern into a single, bell-shaped spot, sitting on a low energy background. We demonstrate that quadratic beam cleanup is accompanied by significant self-focusing of the fundamental beam, for both positive and negative signs of the linear phase mismatch close to the phase-matching condition
Una metodología para la evaluación de la sustentabilidad de sistemas productivos primarios
Sustentabilidad y resiliencia son consideradas básicas para alcanzar un funcionamiento balanceado de los sistemas socio-ecológicos frente a condiciones internas cambiantes y shocks externos. Sin embargo, no existe consenso en cuanto a la medición de ambos conceptos como contribución al manejo de los sistemas productivos locales en esa dirección. Consecuente con estas ideas, en este trabajo se presenta una metodología para evaluar la Sustentabilidad de Sistema Productivos Agropecuarios, como resultado de dos años de investigación interdisciplinaria La posibilidad de aplicar esta metodología descansa en un proceso colaborativo entre ciencia y política para mejorar la resiliencia y por lo tanto la sustentabilidad de los sistemas productivos locales.Sustainability and resilience are considered the base for reaching a balanced functioning of socio-ecological systems, facing internal conditions and external shocks. However, there is no agreement on how to get a good measure of both concepts to allow for managing local production systems in that sense. In this paper is presented a methodology for assessing Sustainability of Agriculture Production Systemsas result of a two-year research.
