    Optimum Research of Hot-Pressing Technology of the Composite Board with Waste Wood and Paper

    On the rise of global low-carbon economy with the purpose of leveraging waste wood resources efficiently, waste wood and paper was processed into new type wood-based panels. The hot-pressing technology of the 9 mm composite board with waste wood and paper was studied through an orthogonal experiment, and the effects of resin content, hot-pressing temperature, hot-pressing time and the mass ratio of waste wood and paper were discussed. Results indicated that effects of resin content on the MOR (Modulus of rupture), MOE (modulus of elasticity) and 24h TS (thickness swelling) of the composite board were remarkable, while effects of hot-pressing temperature, hot-pressing time and the mass ratio of waste wood and paper were slight. Based on the quality indicators of MOR, it was found that the optimum condition of hot-pressing for the 9 mm composite board with waste wood and paper was estimated to include resin content of 19%, hot-pressing temperature of 120 °C, hot-pressing time of 12.5min, and the mass ratio of waste wood and paper of 7 to 13. Under these conditions, the composite board could be used as new materials for furniture, interior decoration and packaging.Key words: Waste wood; Waste paper; Composite board; Hot-pressing technolog

    SIRT3: A New Regulator of Cardiovascular Diseases

    Cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) are the leading causes of death worldwide, and defects in mitochondrial function contribute largely to the occurrence of CVDs. Recent studies suggest that sirtuin 3 (SIRT3), the mitochondrial NAD+-dependent deacetylase, may regulate mitochondrial function and biosynthetic pathways such as glucose and fatty acid metabolism and the tricarboxylic acid (TCA) cycle, oxidative stress, and apoptosis by reversible protein lysine deacetylation. SIRT3 regulates glucose and lipid metabolism and maintains myocardial ATP levels, which protects the heart from metabolic disturbances. SIRT3 can also protect cardiomyocytes from oxidative stress-mediated cell damage and block the development of cardiac hypertrophy. Recent reports show that SIRT3 is involved in the protection of several heart diseases. This review discusses the progress in SIRT3-related research and the role of SIRT3 in the prevention and treatment of CVDs

    Optimization of Resinification of Liquefied Products from Trash Antiseptic Wood

    In this study, Anticorrosive fir was liquefied in phenol, and the liquefied wood were used to produce adhesive by resinification. The effect of resinification time, resinification temperature, molar ratio (NaOH/liquefied wood) and molar ratio (methanal/liquefied wood) on resinification was investigated by orthogonal experiments in term of the viscosity, solid content and pH of resinification product. Adhesive produced by resinification was then used for plywood production, and plywood strength was detected to assess adhesive. According to experiment results, the optimal conditions of resimification are as follow: resinification time of 150 min, resinification temperature of 90°C, molar ratio (NaOH/liquefied wood) of 0.5 and molar ratio (methanal/liquefied wood) of 1.8. Using adhesive produced under the optimal conditions to bond plywood, the bonding strength and formaldehyde emission of plywood produced accorded with related national standard (china), and the plywood produced belonged to calss I.Key words: Antiseptic woods; Resinification; Liquefaction; Phenol; Adhesiv

    Comparison of netupitant/palonosetron with 5-hydroxytryptamine-3 receptor antagonist in preventing of chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting in patients undergoing hematopoietic stem cell transplantation

    BackgroundThe use of 5-hydroxytryptamine-3 receptor antagonists (5HT3RA) has long been considered the standard regimen for preventing chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting (CINV) prior to hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT). However, their therapeutic outcomes have been unsatisfactory. NEPA, an oral formulation combining the neurokinin-1 receptor antagonist netupitant and the 5HT3RA palonosetron, has received regulatory approval for the management of highly and moderately emetogenic chemotherapy. This study aims to compare the efficacy of NEPA with that of 5HT3RA alone in preventing CINV among patients undergoing multiday conditioning chemotherapy prior to HSCT.Patients and methodsWe conducted a retrospective analysis of patients who underwent HSCT between September 2019 and September 2022. Efficacy outcomes were assessed based on the rates of patients achieving complete response (CR: no emesis and no use of rescue medication), complete control (CC: CR without significant nausea), no vomiting, and no significant nausea.ResultsThe NEPA group consisted of 106 patients, while the 5HT3RA group included 107 patients. The NEPA group exhibited significantly higher rates of CR compared to the 5HT3RA group during the overall phase (71.7% vs. 32.7%, P<0.001), acute phase (78.3% vs. 43.0%, P<0.001), and delayed phase (84.9% vs. 58.9%, P<0.001). Similarly, rates of CC, no vomiting, and no significant nausea were significantly better in the NEPA group across all phases (P<0.001).ConclusionNEPA demonstrated superior efficacy compared to 5HT3RA in preventing CINV during all phases of multiday conditioning regimens among patients undergoing HSCT
