The scattering parameters of embedded devices can be measured by means of contactless vector network analysis. To achieve accurate measurement results, the contactless measurement setup has to be calibrated. However, if the substrate material or the planar transmission lines on the substrate changes, a new calibration is necessary. In this paper a method will be examined, which reduces the number of calibration cycles by using a database. Analytical results show that by using this database method, errors occur which depend on the coupling coefficients and on the load impedances of the contactless probes. However, the measurement results show deviations smaller than 7% in comparison to the conventional vector network analysis, which is sufficient for the most pratical applications.Rosenberger Hochfrequenztechnik GmbH & Co. Background and objective DNA methyltransferase 1 (DNMT1) is one of the important molecules regulating DNA methylation. The abnormal expression of DNMT1 was associated with the methylation and inactivation of tumor suppressor gene and tumorigenesis. The aim of this study is to clarify the difference of DNMT1 expression between lung cancer tissues and corresponding normal lung tissues, to analyze the relationships between DNMT1 expression and clinicopathologic characteristics of lung squamous cell carcinoma and adenocarcinoma, and to investigate the correlation between the expressions of DNMT1 and β-catenin. Methods The expressions of DNMT1 and β-catenin were examined in 84 lung squamous cell carcinoma and adenocarcinoma tissues and corresponding normal lung tissues using tissue microarray and immunohistochemistry. Results The average positive rate of DNMT1 was significantly higher in 84 lung cancer tissues [(58.04±35.07)%] than that in corresponding normal lung tissues [(6.88±10.26)%](t=12.835, P < 0.001). The high expression of DNMT1 was positively correlated with adenocarcinoma histological type (r=0.365, P=0.001), poor differentiation (r=0.253, P=0.021) and lymph node metastasis (r=0.246, P=0.024) in lung cancer. The expression of DNMT1 was significantly correlated with the cytoplasmic expression of β-catenin (r=0.571, P < 0.001). Conclusion The high expression of DNMT1 was a common phenomenon in lung squamous cell carcinoma and adenocarcinoma. The high expression of DNMT1 was correlated with the malignant phynotype of lung cancer. DNMT1 may express coordinately with β-catenin in lung cancer

Simple 46, XY gonadal dysgenesis syndrome, also called Swyer syndrome, is known as pure gonadal dysgenesis. Individuals with the syndrome are characterized by 46, XY karyotype and phenotypically female with female genital appearance, normal Müllerian structures and absent testicular tissue. The condition usually first becomes apparent in adolescence with delayed puberty and primary amenorrhea due to the gonads have no hormonal or reproductive potential. Herein, we report a case of dysgerminoma diagnosed in a dysgenetic gonad of a 21-year-old patient with Swyer syndrome

A Planar-Dimensions Machine Vision Measurement Method Based on Lens Distortion Correction

    Get PDF
Lens distortion practically presents in a real optical imaging system causing nonuniform geometric distortion in the images and gives rise to additional errors in the vision measurement. In this paper, a planar-dimensions vision measurement method is proposed by improving camera calibration, in which the lens distortion is corrected on the pixel plane of image. The method can be divided into three steps: firstly, the feature points, only in the small central region of the image, are used to get a more accurate perspective projection model; secondly, rather than defining a uniform model, the smoothing spline function is used to describe the lens distortion in the measurement region of image, and two correction functions can be obtained by fitting two deviation surfaces; finally, a measurement method for planar dimensions is proposed, in which accurate magnification factor of imaging system can be obtained by using the correction functions. The effectiveness of the method is demonstrated by applying the proposed method to the test of measuring shaft diameter. Experimental data prove that the accurate planar-dimensions measurements can be performed using the proposed method even if images are deformed by lens distortion

This is an Accepted Manuscript of an article published by Taylor & Francis in International Journal of Sustainable Transportation on 2022, available online: http://www.tandfonline.com/10.1080/15568318.2021.1959684[EN] Although transportation infrastructure promotes the continuous development of the world economy, it is also responsible for serious pollution problems. These are studied in the analysis of five transportation infrastructure projects from Bosnia, Pakistan, and China, and their environmental emissions and impacts using an environmental impact assessment model of transportation infrastructure based on life cycle analysis. This shows that: (a) the main reason for the negative environmental impact of transportation infrastructure is the use of energy and complex materials, of which the use of lime soils has the biggest influence on global warming; and (b) frequent overhaul maintenance has a greater impact on the environment compared to daily maintenance. Our findings provide governments from all countries with a scientific basis for formulating policies for energy conservation and reduction in transportation infrastructure emissions. This research is supported by the National Social Science Fund projects(No.20BJY010); National Social Science Fund Post-financing projects(No.19FJYB017); Sichuan-tibet Railway Major Fundamental Science Problems Special Fund (No.71942006); Qinghai Natural Science Foundation(No.2020-JY-736); List of Key Science and Technology Projects in China's Transportation Industry in 2018-International Science and Technology Cooperation Project (No.2018-GH-006 and No.2019-MS5-100); Emerging Engineering Education Research and Practice Project of Ministry of Education of China (No.E-GKRWJC20202914); Shaanxi Social Science Fund (No.2017S004); Xi'an Construction Science and Technology Planning Project (No.SZJJ201915 and No.SZJJ201916); Shaanxi Province Higher Education Teaching Reform Project (No.19BZ016); Fundamental Research for Funds for the Central Universities (Humanities and Social Sciences), Chang'an University (No.300102239616, No.300102281669 and No.300102231641). The First Polarimetric View on Quasi-Periodic Oscillations in a Black Hole X-ray Binary

We present the first polarimetric analysis of Quasi-Periodic Oscillations (QPO) in a black hole binary utilizing \textit{IXPE} data. Our study focuses on Swift J1727.8--1613, which experienced a massive outburst that was observed by various telescopes across different wavelengths. The \textit{IXPE} observation we studied was conducted during the Hard-Intermediate state. The polarization degree (PD) and polarization angle (PA) were measured at 4.28±\pm0.20\% and 1.9∘±1.4∘1.9^{\circ}\pm1.4^{\circ}, respectively. Remarkably, significant QPO signals were detected during this observation, with a QPO frequency of approximately 1.34 Hz and a fractional root-mean-square (RMS) amplitude of about 12.3\%. Furthermore, we conducted a phase-resolved analysis of the QPO using the Hilbert-Huang transform technique. The photon index showed a strong modulation with respect to the QPO phase. In contrast, the PD and PA exhibit no modulations in relation to the QPO phase, which is inconsistent with the expectation of the Lense-Thirring precession of the inner flow. Further theoretical studies are needed to conform with the observational results.Comment: Accepted for publication in APJ

In-orbit background simulation of a type-B CATCH satellite

The Chasing All Transients Constellation Hunters (CATCH) space mission plans to launch three types of micro-satellites (A, B, and C). The type-B CATCH satellites are dedicated to locating transients and detecting their time-dependent energy spectra. A type-B satellite is equipped with lightweight Wolter-I X-ray optics and an array of position-sensitive multi-pixel Silicon Drift Detectors. To optimize the scientific payloads for operating properly in orbit and performing the observations with high sensitivities, this work performs an in-orbit background simulation of a type-B CATCH satellite using the Geant4 toolkit. It shows that the persistent background is dominated by the cosmic X-ray diffuse background and the cosmic-ray protons. The dynamic background is also estimated considering trapped charged particles in the radiation belts and low-energy charged particles near the geomagnetic equator, which is dominated by the incident electrons outside the aperture. The simulated persistent background within the focal spot is used to estimate the observation sensitivity, i.e. 4.22×\times10−13^{-13} erg cm−2^{-2} s−1^{-1} with an exposure of 104^{4} s and a Crab-like source spectrum, which can be utilized further to optimize the shielding design. The simulated in-orbit background also suggests that the magnetic diverter just underneath the optics may be unnecessary in this kind of micro-satellites, because the dynamic background induced by charged particles outside the aperture is around 3 orders of magnitude larger than that inside the aperture.Comment: 24 pages, 13 figures, 7 tables, accepted for publication in Experimental Astronom
